I did just that, I took it in on my appt date, I was given a loaner and drove away. I got the car back and the problem was fixed, no noise and the top of tailgate was aligned. a few week ago I was getting a problem indicator that my cross safety system needed to be checked, then a second indictor came up that my rear cross safety blind spot system needed to be checked. I took it to Suresky Hyundai for an oil change, and ask them to check for these indicator problems, and I was told that car was in an accident, I told no it has never been in an accident. I told the sales man that the tailgate came misaligned from factory and that Healy Hyundai sent it to a body shop to get fixed. Sales man advised that I lost my warranty because of the work done on tailgate, I was pissed. I took the car back to Healy and told them what I was told, and Mike told me the same thing, that I would have to pay for the diagnostic if not cover under the warranty, now I am really pissed. You had the work done on new car and now the problem is mine. I am not pay for any diagnostic or repair, this was your car to sell, and your car to fix, so fix it.
