Great Car, Stylish, Functional, has range and reliability issues
Overall, I love and hate this vehicle. It has very high highs and very low lows. Let me break it down for you.
In terms of driving dynamics, this vehicle is fun to drive. It has fast acceleration (more than enough for 98% of people) and it rides comfortably when you want it to do so. Its cornering capabilities leave a little more to be desired, but is more than adequate. The steering feels precise and you get a good general road feeling coming back through the wheel. Although, in sport mode the steering wheel feels a little too heavy. As mentioned previously, it has a comfortable ride and can be somewhat sporty at the same time. My one gripe here is that the Regenerative Braking (RB) below 15mph seems to be… wonky. If I am slowing down and barely applying brake pressure to allow the RB to recoup energy, once you hit below 15mph it seems to just disengage and can sometimes cause a “lunge” type of feeling because you are not applying enough brake pressure. Even after a year and a half I still struggle getting this right.
I don’t have much to say about the interior other than it is lovely. It is laid out well and everything just seems to be where you would want it. I’m glad that the climate control settings are not buried in a menu somewhere. With that though, I have a few minor recommendations. Firstly, the seats do not have enough foam or cushioning in them as the seats after a while feel a memory foam mattress that has been compacted and made a bit stiff. Please note, that the seats start off great, they’re just not great after like 1.5 hours of driving (also I hear that this was resolved in the 2026 models). Along with the seats, I am also a bigger individual (broad shoulders and hips) and I would like to see the seats accommodate those types of people a bit more, but I see why this is not the case for most vehicles. I would like about 1 inch more of rear seat legroom. I would like a built in dash-cam. I would also like the “Sport Prestige Trim” to let you choose the trim and ambient lighting instead of the carbon fiber look that I don’t personally like. With that, all of these are fairly minor little things that I would like, but they are not deal breakers for me at all.
As for the exterior, the vehicle looks and operates great. No major problems here. A few recommendations would be to make the keyless entry faster (I think the Digital Key makes it slower). Also, the front grill(less) grill looks good, but would like it to look a little bit better.
Lastly, Range and Reliability. These two have been the biggest gripe I have had with this vehicle. With an EPA rated range of 236 miles and my vehicle cost of nearly 80K, that is not nearly enough EV range. I think this vehicle needs at least 300 miles of range to be competitively worth the price. Also, that range figure in winter (Utah) dropped dramatically for me. Like to 175 miles of range. In any case, I would love more range in this vehicle or a EREV type of powertrain would be perfect here. Also, charging the vehicle is good, both at a Level 2 and at a Level 3. I’ve had more issues with chargers than I have had with the vehicle. Now, reliability is where I have struggled here. After 4400 miles I had serious mechanical issues with the vehicle. It spent 2.5 months undergoing repairs as the vehicle was not driveable. Even though everything was covered under warranty and I was provided a loaner vehicle, it is still the fact that the car I leased for 2 years spent a significant amount of time being repaired. I’ve also had other issues like the wheels “sticking” while turning at slow speed, the surround view cameras fail to connect sometimes and usually requires a hard unit reset to fix. So yeah, the range and reliability could be great improved.
