Great car!

Love my Honda Civic, the only thing better would be a new Honda Civic! It is 11 years of age and still runs great. Nothing other than the basic maintenance and care, which all car owners should do..

Honda Civic Sedan

I have driven Hondas for years and find the Civic to be great on gas mileage, and very dependable. Maintenance costs are infrequent and low. Technology is updated in each new model year to help provide a safe and comfortable experience.

Extremely durable

No problems with vehicle whatsoever. Interior is extremely quiet, runs great for 1.8 liter car is surprising quick with 5 speed manual transmission. excellent fuel economy I get 38-40mpg consistently at higher than legal posted speeds, braking is great and dependable no surprises. Exceptional vehicle exterior body design with a well though out. interior that is surprising plush. Visibility is excellent and HVAC works quickly. If you are looking for an exceptional used vehicle. 2008 Honda Civic sedan or coupe is a definite candidate.

4 door si

This was only my second new car in 35 years to replace the other new car, a BMW I drove for 15 years. You might think the comparison wouldn’t hold up and the Bimmer is a great car. I call this one terrific! Low maintenance costs (uh...different than a BMW!) and a hoot to drive. After having such an experience with this Honda, I bought a used s2000 and drove it for 8 trouble free years. The si is just so unassuming and frisky that I kept it instead of the s2k when my driving went down to 1500 miles a year (retirement)...share the road out there and have fun!

Honda Civic

Have driven this car since 2008 (purchased new) and have always been totally happy. Just really love this car and recommend it to anyone that would consider buying. Feel like it is a very solid built car. Have had 4 other brand cars, same comparably, and I would not have anything else other than Honda.

Fun

My BMW was getting long in the tooth (and very expensive to maintain) so I went to this fun and tossable car…I came from a stick only, rear wheel drive mentality, yet you can have lots of fun with a Civic si below the speed limit…and it’s still a stick!

Service maintenance

Need to change oil brake light in dash is on windshield wipers need to be replaced and ac needs service. Marco updated me the results of what he found and it was minor. Fixed and replaced what needed to be serviced. Was happy that everything was corrected. He also recommended what needed attention. Honest and affordable. I supported small businesses like Marco in Oxnard. Highly recommended.

great car, except.....

have been driving Civic's for years - also own an Element - at 103K miles I plan on keeping my Civic but have been disappointed in the exterior trim and paint quality - air conditioning is barely adequate and had to replace compressor at 93K - but, get 35-36 mpg on the road and overall general maintenance has been reasonable - guess I will keep it for another 100K or so!

LOVE MY HONDA CIVIC

This is my 2nd Civic, and they have proven to be reliable, and cheap to maintain. Gas mileage is fine, I think the car will last forever...my last one lasted ALMOST forever. When this one dies, most-likely I'll be looking for another Civic.

Love the car not the repair bills so far

We bought this economical car for our child who was driving to a community college and gas was almost $4 a gallon in 2014. It's a nimble sporty little 2 door coupe that can accelerate and hold its speed. It has a stiff suspension and yes sits low to the road. However we noticed that the car always rumbled loudly when put into reverse and was worse in the winter temps below 40. The dealership said that's just the way it is. Well by October of 2015 the car was roaring all the time but the muffler system appeared intact from looking under the car. Wrong a different dealer found the front exhaust gasket defective and replaced it. They also delivered the news that the symptoms sounded like at least one engine mount was defective. There are 3 on the car and 2 of the 3 were cracked. We spent about $ 800 for engine mounts and front exhaust gasket. I began to read online about loud rumble in cold weather in reverse and found this generation of Honda Coupe had several owners complaining about this possible defective. Now the dealer who sold us the car has been notified what repair we just paid for and that we were not impressed with their service managers for telling us'thats just the way car is'. I shudder to think what would have happened if the engine mounts failed on the road. So if you buy this as a second hand car -test drive it first thing in the morning and if you note the car is louder or rumbles in reverse demand the engine mounts be replaced.

Solid Economic Vehicle

This 2008 civic lx has treated me well overall for the money. I bought this car as a college student and still use it for my long daily commutes. I haven't had any big issues with this car other than a few things I will discuss. One issue would be driving this car in the rain. When driving the car in the rain, I have had moments where I did not feel safe. I would have to drive significantly slower due to the fear of slipping and sliding. Yes, I have factored in the type of tires that I have purchased as well, but even when buying higher quality tires to have better grip, I still would feel my car sliding while driving on wet conditions. Another issue I did have was that one of the motor mounts had cracked. When taking it into the mechanic, there were no signs that I had gotten into an accident or any big incident that could have caused the motor mount to crack. My mechanic just believed that it could have been just a faulty part. Lastly, I have noticed that cars are being made now with cheaper and lighter parts. My front bumper had hit the front of the parking stopper and few of the brackets inside came undone. It was an easy fix, but when installing it, it was clear that a small bump can easily break the bumper off. Going into 7 years with about 150,000 miles on it, the car overall is doing great. Now with that being said, I do maintain my car regularly which includes tune-ups and replacing shocks, tires, and such. The wear and tear did not officially start kicking in until around the 5 year mark. My audio system is still working well. The ac/heater system is doing great.

Nice commuter car

We purchased a EX used with about $79K miles. It's been a good commuter car for my college age child. Only complaint is needing to replace all engine mounts for about $800 last fall. After doing that repair the car runs better and quieter. From day one of purchase the car was louder and rattled when put into reverse on colder mornings. Honda service told us'just the way the car is' . Not true...googled the symptoms and found this is a common problem/complaint with this year. It's fun to drive, peppy and great on gas. It can haul more than you think when back seats are down and only two passengers.

2008 Honda Civic

Bought it from a friend 6 months ago. Really zippy, good on gas and comfortable. Only issue is the wide frame around the windshield which obstructs peripheral vision. Learned this when I almost hit a pedestrian. I just didn't see them. Now I know to look around the frame. AC and heater easy to manage. Love that the dials are easy to figure out for radio, heat and AC. I love simple.

Only wish it was newer

I love the design lines of the 2008 Civic—clean, sporty, and at the same time elegant. This car has 230,000 miles on it and I’m trying to get as many more as possible. It has been a reliable vehicle. I wish the new ones looked like this. They are over-designed and contrived looking.

A great car with some caveats

A great and reliable vehicle, perfect for a first time stick shift car. Clutch is effortless but incredibly engaging. My car has over 150,000 miles, all driven by myself. I am still on the original clutch assembly save it from about 5 clutch master cylinder replacements early on. The only check engine light I've ever had on the vehicle is when my starter motor finally went, which lasted all the way to 147,000 miles. There has never been a crack in the windshield and I've only ever had to replace one AUX brake light. Now onto the caveats. The A/C system is utter garbage. I've been through 2 compressors and after the warranty ended, it failed a third time, and I have yet to pay to get it fixed, which was over 2 years ago. I'd rather sit in 100 degree heat then pay to a substandard product. I hardly ever used it in my 12 years as a owner and there is no excuse Honda can give me for such a lousy system. Why there was never a proper recall is beyond me. The paint is another caveat. I had the paint warranty work done when it started blistering on the roof, but the trunk was a delayed fuse and is now starting to peal and blister, which can't be repaired under warranty, as that ship has long since sailed. I detailed professionally for over a decade and my car was given a proper hand detail as much as once a month, so this was certainly not negligence. The fit kits on the tires also dry rot and leak air, so I recommend replacing those when you go in for new tires or wheels. Finally the last caveat is the crappy faux leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. It's not even synthetic leather, but some kind of leather paint, that is pealing off in my hands like tar. On a humid day It's quite disgusting. I've since replaced the shift knob with a Type R version, but the steering wheel wrap is going to cost me at least $100 and take several hours to install, so no thank you. All in all I love this car and it still makes me smile when I turn back and look at it. I have traveled the East Coast with this car and it's given me plenty of joy and surprisingly great MPG's, despite it's refined taste in premium fuel. This was my first new car and it's hard to believe 12 years later, I still use it as my daily driver, when all of my friends and family have all had to buy new cars over the years. Knock on wood twice

Good vehicle

Good and reliable vehicle have had it for several years and has been very reliable and little average cost on repairs. I would definitely purchase a same or similar model in the future if I had a need for a second vehicle.

GX model

Sure glad I bought this natural gas burning Civic before the 3rd term of ‘the Oboma regime’ seized power ! Car had served us very well for about a decade now . Only wish the original buyer would have added undercoating before using it as NY fleet vehicle ;( The underbody rust is starting to take over .
