Even better than I expected.

I traded 2021 Tacoma for my Ioniq 5 SEL. Of course the Ioniq 5 is more comfortable, there is no comparison. But the flat floor and roomier interior has been so very nice. The car is also much quieter and the tech is much more modern. Performance wise the Ioniq 5 is very solid. It goes, turns, and stops better than anything I have owned in the past. My complaints are few but include the placement of the heated seats switch, I bump it once in a while and find out it is on when my seat is nice and toasty. Not a nice surprise in the summer. I have installed the EcoHitch on it but there is no Hyundai wiring harness available in the US, even though they sell it in Canada. That could so easily be solved. Efficiency is not great compared to a Model 3, but I knew that going in. It is plenty good for everything I do except road trips, where it can be a challenge. In the end I suppose I am more impressed with the car than I expected I would be. I knew a lot about it before I made the jump and still, I am surprised by things, in a good way. It is so much fun to drive and it is so confidence inspiring. Plus it's a hoot to take people who have never been in an EV for a ride. I am not swayed by looks on most cars but the more I own this one, the more I like it. It matches me and my nerdiness.

My Favorite Car Ever

I did test drive a couple of other EVs, but can't pretend to have driven many. Having said that, this is my favorite car ever for all sorts of reasons. It simply strikes me as the most thoughtful car ever, not in a budget category, but neither is it a luxury vehicle, which is my sweet spot for a car.

The car is great. The constant anxiety not so much/

I love my 2026 Ioniq 5 LTD. I really debated buying it because of the ICCU and 12V battery issues. I went ahead anyway hoping it would never happen to me. It has not happened yet but I do live with constant anxiety about it, especially on road trips far from home. If Huyundai would deal with/fix this issue once and for all the car would be perfect.

Don’t buy an Ioniq 5

I love my car but it doesn’t reliably charge with a type 2 charger. This means I cannot take it on a trip that requires charging. My dealer says nothing is wrong with the car. Daily, I receive 150 or more erroneous notifications on BlueLink that my car has received a request to charge. These notifications come even when the car is not plugged in

Electric car is fun to drive!

This is my first electric car, I love driving it! I didn't realize it would be so fun to drive, so smooth with great acceleration! I love the car, my only complaint is that it is hard for me to get in and out of drivers seat, the steering wheel impedes me, and there is a long reach in order to steo out of car. I am short, maybe this is why I have a hard time!

Lovin it!

Far outshines the Lucid we had for 1 ½ years. This car does what it is supposed to do every time. The doors unlock, the seats adjust, the software recognizes the driver, & many other things to numerous to remember. The Lucid never did any of those things consistently. And we are getting as much as 4.2 mi/kWh around town & 3.6 mi/kWh on the highway @ 65 mph.

Great drive and even better value!

Offers a smooth and quiet ride with almost all the essential features included. App interface is simple and provides all the necessary information about the car. Remote control features (car lock, charge, window roll down, etc) are very useful. Only issue is the integrated Qi charger location is in the center console where the sun beat down on it directly, and the combination of induction charging and direct sun ends up overheating the phone. Also the SEL version doesn't have the driver seat memory settings. Therefore, if you have multiple drivers using the car, each driver has to reset all the seat, steering, and mirror settings separately before starting to drive.
