Not bad at all.

Features are nice. Vehicle sits low, basically like a car. Sunroof takes away a lot of headroom. Vehicle is also pretty lightweight. Tires slip on fast acceleration. Vehicle drifts a bit on turns. Bumpy if you're used to an SUV.

I feel the Kona EV gives you a lot compared to other full EV's out in the market. However there are some things that could use attention from Hyundai as the competition in the EV market is only getting tighter.

Zippy City Car

This car is great to drive around town with the regen breaks most of the time you don't even have to break. Behind a slow car? You can press the accelerator pedal to easily pass them to get to your destination. Overall this car is awesome to save and not spend money on gas and to reduce your carbon footprint as well.

Great subcompact EV with 315 mi charge & hatchback

Smart EV with good safety features, small yet my 55lb dog can jump in hatchback and it fits packages & gear. Quick pick up, leave everyone behind at stop light and breeze by gas stations ignoring gas prices. Good range- 315 mile charge in warm weather, 217 miles in Wisconsin winter. Transportation without harm to people’s lungs, the environment, national security, and my wallet. Happy driving the Kona EV.

Surprisingly Good

Easy to live with and use. Smooth, quiet driving. Decent practicality. Build quality is better than expected. Would rather have a spare tire instead of an inflator kit. Some interior parts feel cheap, but the interior looks good.

Great small crossover EV

Kona EV is a great small crossover EV. Excellent range, performance, drivability. Good technology, safety features. Good fronn seating. Exceptionally convenient front charging port. Rear legroom too small. Trunk is way too small. No USB and reading lights in the back. Needs better headlights. Needs wireless Android Auto

Great ride!

The Kona Electric is a superb vehicle for this moment. Great size (not too big or small), very comfortable to be in, and as an electric is both QUICK and relatively cheap to fuel (long term, certainly). I have a few small issues with the dash, but overall it's smartly laid out. Overall it's the most fun, useful and comfy car I've owned.

Best option in my price range for an all-electric car

I never really considered Hyundai until I started shopping for an all-electric car. There was nothing else out there in my price range that offered the battery range and other features I wanted. My husband purchased a Hyundai Kona Electric the year before and was very happy with it so I went to our local Hyundai dealer to talk to them and see. I was pleasantly surprised at Hyundai’s offerings in general and really warmed up to the idea of driving a Kona Electric, which I ended up leasing for three years. Now I am really glad that I did because I am enjoying the car and when people ask me what I think about it I tell them I love It! I especially love not paying the crazy prices for gasoline these days.

It is a great car for around town.

The eKona is fast off the blocks and drives very smoothly. Safety warnings are excellent and vision it good. Very comfortable for a smaller person and seat fits me well. Lack of a spare and high road noise on the freeway makes it less than perfect for long road trips. For my purposes mileage is good and it meets most of my needs.

Great performance. Too small

Great little crossover. Too small for more then 2 people. Trunk too small. Very good range and efficiency. Very slow DC charging. Charging 10-80% should be less then 30 minutes. Need at least 300 miles of range. Need AWD as option

Needs to have more miles on a full charge

It needs to have up to 400 miles on a full charge. The battery gets drained when running heat or AC. The trunk needs to be longer. My wife's scooter does not fully fit in the trunk. That's all I have to say.

KONA EV is an excellent car

The Kona EV is a very nice, though not "high end" vehicle. It is very inexpensive to operate and maintain. My spreadsheet of electric costs vs, gas cost for similar mileage shows that I have saved over $3600 in the 2 1/2 years I've owned it. The car is very reliable and requires very minimal service. And, it is quite comfortable with good handing and excellent acceleration.

EV and ME

I have enjoyed driving an EV while watching gas prices aproach $4:00 per gallon. to me the best qualities, beyond gas mileage, are regenerative braking and heads up display. I don't know why they would put cheap tires on their most expensive vehicle.

Good car. Could be great

Car is super heavy and while decent torque it needs more to compete with Tesla and others. Performance is important. Brakes are weak and software for panic stops sloppy. Brakes in general are hard to modulate.

Car is nice and fun to drive, but range is poor

The Hyundai Kona Electric is nice and fun to drive. It's quick and handles well. However, the range is very poor and nowhere near what is advertised. At full charge, the gauge says I should be getting 260-270 miles. This is the range that is advertised and what the dealership communicated. However, I'm getting closer to 160 miles for a full charge. Needless to say, it's very disappointing.
