Absolutely love it!

The Hyundai Kona EV is amazingly stylish, fun to drive, and goes the distance I need. It has a price point that is affordable for anyone who wants to step into the electric market. The 270-mile range is fantastic, and even with running heat, and any of the other many functions the range doesn't fall much below 180-miles. You have to be willing to take thirty minutes at a supercharger when you are going long distances and plan accordingly, but that can be a fun part of the trip as well. It forces you to stop and have lunch or dinner when you are traveling, which is a nice break on a long trip.

Fun car, great performance and range

We bought a Toyota Rav4 XSE a couple of years ago and the gas mileage has just gotten worse and worse and the dealer doesn't care--we are only getting 2/3rds or the rated mileage. Some of that may be due to short trips up and down hills from our home, so we decided to get the Kona for daily driving. The experience has been great, it's fun, great range (as good or better than rated despite our hilly surroundings) and the dealership made it so easy to get the EV incentives.

Like safety features. Saved on car insurance because of them. To make driving an all electric vehicle feasible it must have a high driving range before requiring a battery recharge due to lack of charging stations. The Kona EV does this.

Best car I've ever owned

I love this car. It's comfortable and fun without being flashy. More important, it's super safe. This sounds like I'm making it up, but it's the literal truth that the very first time I had my family in the car, the front collision avoidance system kept us from slamming into a deer. It jumped out in front of my car, and the car slammed the brakes for me. My wife and I both got out of the car, expecting to see damage, but nothing. Suddenly, my wife had much less of an issue with the monthly payments, lol.

Good range, nice car to drive

I bought the Hyundai Kona EV SEL and I've had it two weeks. I've had two other EVs and this is by far the best. The range seems to surpass the promised 258 miles. The build quality is solid, the suspension is firm and the car handles well. The brakes grab a low speeds. Overall, I'm impressed and happy with my purchase.

Impressed with the Fit, Features, Finish and Range of my Kona EV. I would be hard pressed to match its value with the other EVs currently available. This vehicle is affordable and has all the must have features/electronics expected in today's high tech EVs. The dealership experience was a plus.

Great EV!

I'm very impressed with this EV. It's stylish, comfortable and fast. Everything operates as advertised. Well priced and with great battery range. It also has amazing acceleration and is very nimble. Remarkable interior size and nicely styled cloth seats. A good sized cargo area, plenty of space for groceries or sports equipment. This is our 6th electric vehicle and it ranks 2nd overall. Ranking: Audi E-tron, Hyundai Kona, Chevy Bolt, Chevy Volt, BMW i-3 and Ford C-Max.

Fun, zippy little car!

I have only had my new Kona EV for a month, but so far I am totally pleased with it. It is a very solid, fun to drive little car. I wanted a small and zippy car and the Kona is perfect. This is my second pure electric car. I am totally sold on the quiet, fast acceleration, and low maintenance of an all electric car. Particularly pleasing is getting over 300 miles per charge so far. Before my previous Bolt EV, I owned a Hyundai Santa Fe. I have been very impressed with both the value for the money and the reliability of Hyundai vehicles.

Great lease value, nice car

Car is fun to drive, has all the features I need, we are delighted. The headlights on the base trim model are a bit underpowered, and I hope in the future they offer a larger, more family -size EV, this is tight for four people as a daily driver. But for the car it is, it's great value and quality.

Love my Kona!

The joy of never having to fuel up is amazing! Then there is practically no maintenance ever! The Kona is a pleasure to drive. It has plenty of power, plenty of room for groceries or lawn chairs, or luggage in the back.

Amazing Car

For an electric vehicle, it turned out to be an excellent buy. The mileage is enough to get all of my tasks done and I can even work on the car. The sound system and ventilated seats are a big surprise. They work efficiently and are probably some of the best features on the car. I absolutely love the cruise mode as well. Safe car with power but still good for the environment.

Best EV for your $$

Long time racer, car collector, driving enthusiast looking for simple EV for family member. I’m picky. Was looking for a quality EV and for half Tesla Y money the Kona EV delivers 75% of the goods. Very good seat. Let’s start there. Has actual support instead of the flat bench in the Leaf or the weird shaped Bolt seat. Excellent acceleration. Very good range. Nice interior for its class. Fun car to drive and toss around. Good weight distribution, low center of gravity, decent steering feel for an electric, good suspension and body roll control. All the great safety features standard. Fairly roomy for its size. Economy car payments on a super quiet, super torquey EV. Better than Hyundai’s own ioniq. Can’t really ask for too much more for the money. I think I’ve bought/leased my last gasoline car.

Love the Kona electric

Best decision I made was to go green. This electric car is a gem. It’s so cute. It suits my needs. It’s comfy, fast, easy to drive and loaded with feature. Lots of room all around. And it has a tax credit. Yippee!!! Just plug it in. I see no difference in my electric bill.

I tested and then bought the vehicle. I did not try the Tesla because I like the style and dashboard of my Kona and its fits my neighborhood. I also find that this survey is very burdensome and the only reason I am filling it out is I like the Dealership and the car.

My first Electric

This is my first electric and I really love not having to go to the gas station and the idea of not having the fluctuation of gas prices affect me is treat. Only cons of the Kona is it had a recall within the first week and sensor needed to be removed but the warranty is great I paid nothing. Ride is great, smooth, handles like a sedan, and potholes are doable. Take off is great but it does drain your battery to floor the pedal. There’s two levels of eco mode and getting used to all the standard bells and whistles Is fun. Overal great acceleration, I drive 1200 miles and month and have to recharge 2X a week. Overall 9/10 of the car could use an extra inch in the back seat it trunk.

Great Range

Coming from a 2011 Nissan Leaf, this was a night and day difference. The range, power, handling,safety features, and climate control are exceptional. The efficiency of the car is great. I have been getting 5.5 to 5.9 efficiency in town, which is the majority of our driving. The freeway driving gets great efficiency. We love the app for the car too!

Leaf vs Kona

This Kona replaced a two year old Leaf. I used to have some distance anxiety with the Leaf, however there were only two times that running out of electrons really counted, in both times I made it home. The Kona's increased range really puts my mind at ease. The Kona is our primary run around town vehicle and is used for almost all in town driving. It is also used as my daily driver back and forth to work, a distance of around 20 miles each way. I bought the SEL version, because when I looked at the options on the two upgraded models, none of them were important to me. I do wish that the Kona came with a power cable that was capable of both 240 and 120 volt operation. The first thing I had to order on line was a 240 volt cable. I was distressed that I couldn't even get one at the dealer. Other than that I now have around 3000 miles on the Kona and still love it.
