2026 Hyundai Palisade is almost perfect

The 2026 Palisade Calligraphy trim has the most room out of the SUVs that we looked at. It was definitely better than the Toyota and Mazda options. It is quiet and has a very smooth ride. The Palisade feels like it is built solid and has all of the bells and whistles I can imagine. I love the HUD and all of the features that appear. I realize that the styling is much different than the previous models but I really like the look. Hopefully this is just as reliable as my other Hyundai's that I have had in the past. I have owned an Elantra, 2 Sonatas, Veloster, and 2 Santa Fe's. Knock on wood, all have been great vehicles.

Satisfied but sometimes underwhelmed

I think the technology is sensational but small irritants make it less than 5 stars. First is the park assist which I really need due to cramped garage width. I find I have to stop the car, turn it off, then restart pushing the two buttons and hold in the move forward button to have it move into garage. I shouldn't have to restart car to do that. Second is the start stop feature that everyone hates to save fuel. It shouldn't need to be turned off every time you start the car. Third is the gentle vibration from perhaps road conditions but I never feel it in my 8 year old Volvo XC90 . If this is luxury it lacks smooth ride and a bit sluggish with the six cylinder engine. Turbo 4 is quicker.

My Fourth Palisade

Nothing I say in this review would have altered my decision to purchase a 2026 Palisade Calligraphy. However, it is the first of my four Palisades with which I have anything less than 100% to say. I love the vehicle and would buy it again, although a few things fall into the disappointing category.

Cookie Calligraphy 2026

Excellent vehicle, very few drawbacks except finicky auto door lock and open function, no automatic reversion to daylight saving or standard time and has to be set manually for all drivers, removal of free maintenance period, and overly complicated screen setups otherwise absolutely no complaints

3 months of ownership

Overall the non hybrid Palisade is a very good car. The comfort, features and styling are outstanding. Performance is sub standard. Took a 700 mile road trip through mountains loaded with four adults, golf clubs and luggage and the Palisade struggled noticeably up hills. It also seems to have a long gas peddle push, probably contributing to the perception of sluggish performance otherwise.

Great features - poor MPG

Really like the new design and the Calligraphy trim certainly feels high end. Much quieter than my 2021 Palisade Calligraphy. Biggest disappointment is the poor gas mileage. Nowhere close to the 18/24 mentioned on the sticker. Even with the A/C not running, the most I'm getting on a tank of gas is 17.9 mpg and that is with 50/50 city to highway. Very disappointing. Electronics still a bit wonky as well.
