Mixed Emotions on the CX-9

First off, I love this car but I no longer trust it for a long trip. Two years ago, the engine died on the way home from Florida. The engine has the water pump inside the block and if something is going wrong, you cannot hear it. Coolant mixed with the oil and the engine had to be replaced. Since then, this engine design has been corrected by Ford / Mazda but the expense I incurred was large. I will probably get a Subaru Ascent next time.

Designed as a Family Car, Performs like a Sports Car

Our first Mazda was a Rotary Engine station wagon (baby expected and needed an adult car). Loved the car! Eventually graduated to our current car, the CX9. It handles like my long-ago small sports car of my youth. Wow, I didn't think it was possible for a large car to take corners like my CX9 does. The Pacific Northwest can be very wet, so you need to drive a reliable, sure-footed auto and the CX9 is certainly that. And it also is a star in reliability!

Reliable and Versitle

I've owned two Mazda CX-9's and both have been extremely reliable. I have 3 kids and this three row SUV provides tons of space for the entire family and all of our stuff. On a recent ski trip it handled the family and all of our snowboards with ease. We put over 200k miles on our first one and liked the ownership experience so much we went out replaced it with another one. It's also very capable in the snow and bad weather.

Vehicle Fine! Manufacturer’s Service Not So Much.

The vehicle has been fine except for several very irritating problems with shields under the vehicle, and wheels whose paint started peeling off at less than 30k miles. The very irritating part has been the failure of Mazda to take responsibility, even for a Certified vehicle. I used to be a Mazda CX-9 fan. Because of Mazda’s behavior, I refuse to buy another automobile from them!

Good solid car. Comfortable . We have driven this car cross country several times and it was comfortable and responsive. There have been no maintenance issues since we purchased the vehicle. Very reliable\.

Mazda CX9

After driving Lexus, BMW; Toyotas i bought this due to price point but will NEVER buy Mazda again. Soft driving; feels like it is driving itself sometimes; not solid and steady drive feel; bad battery to start and dealer couldnt find the issue until 33,000 miles and I bought it new. Rolls Forward when I park; bluetooth doesnt work since I have too many contacts in my phone; GPS constantly taking The LONG route or goes around the block. Basically doesnt work even though the dealer has updated it regularly. Car didnt start a few times...dealer Blamed it on the key battery until we found a BAD battery cell. I average 15 miles a gallon when driving. It was advertised as 18-24. Overall, pretty car on paper but not worth the price.

almost perfect, but some features missing, for 2015 model suv, im disappointed coz no fog lights, no signal lights on the view mirror left & right, very few features comoare to other SUV, but the body overall design is awesome
