2023 is The End of an Era

The 2023 is the last of the Generation 3 line. 2024 brings all new engines (and bugs), all new bodies and chassis (and bugs) Turbo charged gasoline engines (short life) and EV batteries (short lived, expensive and toxic when on fire). Every new product as a Version 1.0 is fraught with bugs and problems that eventually get ironed out at the customer's expense. I fully expect the 2024 to follow suit. Toyota still markets the Hilux mini truck and manual transmission around the world... but not here in the US. These huge Tacomas are "life style" vehicles for the fan boys who need high tech. 99% of them are automatic transmission models for those who can't drive a stick shift. If you want a stick, you have to special order it early in the model year. The Toyota VVT-i variable valve timing engines demand pristine oil quality. This means and oil and filter change every 3~5k miles, and not the overly optimistic factory recommendation of 10~15k miles. They have many small moving parts and tight tolerances, so oil cleanliness is critical.

Tacoma

Returned a 2020 lease for the 2023. Pretty much the same truck which i really like. It rides very smooth, could use some more pep but that prob keeps me out of trouble!! The 2023 is white with the blackout package which makes it look tough. It also has the new led headlight setup which is awesome. all in all I got a great truck!
