Coming out of corners or getting onto the highway, the 540i had started feeling lazy for a second bef
ore the power came in. Technician Josh checked the variable valve timing system and found one of the VANOS control valves wasn’t responding consistently. They replaced the faulty valve and completed the relearn afterward. The engine responds much cleaner now without that hesitation.
