After getting my oil changed, I noticed a lot of oil in my driveway. I took it into Green Drop Moreland to check for a leak and they said other than the ‘expected buildup’, they didn’t see anything. Next day, my oil and engine light go on. I call to ask what type of oil they used and explained my situation. All the front desk guy had to say was a dismissive comment to make sure we use this expensive type of oil they used when refilling my engine. Not the time to brag about your oil when you might have ruined my engine, buddy.
Later that day, I check under the truck myself. Once I took the plates off, I noticed oil had sprayed everywhere and my oil filter came right off after rotating it an inch to the left.
I call the front desk guy again…saying as a manager, I would want to know in case there’s a pattern of this happening. (Replacing engines isn’t cheap!) Again, no apology or ‘thank you for bringing this to our attention’. Thankfully I was proactive and caught the problem myself but they would have totaled my engine and refused to own up to it based on the poor customer service I received.
I’m okay with mistakes, but if you’re not trying to solve the problem WITH me when we see one, then you aren’t a reliable mechanic shop.
