Fun to Drive, but the Warranty is Worthless

Buying a Genesis is a game of Russian Roulette. If you're lucky you'll have a car that doesn't need repairs within the first few years.

Nice but certainly not perfect.

Acceleration, design, and safety offerings are pretty good and at a better value than competition. The lack of the stop/start nuisance used by the competition is great. And really, the overall value for the money is undeniable. However, the car is beginning to show its age particularly with the dashboard screens, lack of ambient lighting, etc. Also, the back and side window defogger works much worse than the competition. Dealership experience is still spotty at best.

4.5 Overall really like the car but not perfect

The good Exhilarating, comfortable, stylish, controlled chaos, plenty of tech and features, fun The bad Plastic underside of front bumper a little warped, overhead console creaks, there may be a small oil leak near the driver side turbo intake

Loving my G70

This vehicle surpassed my expectations and would consider this my favorite luxury vehicle I've owned to date. Besides a couple faulty sensors that seem to go haywire after a hard rain, this is a car and brand I would recommend to anyone.

Great car with excellent service, economic beautiful interior and outside lines, for the price is comparable with a bmw or Mercedez actually already change mine for the gv70 and I’m very happy with the brand and the dealership awesome people and service

Love it!

Great acceleration with the 3.3 twin turbo 6, especially in Sport. Great sound with the variable exhaust in Sport,not too loud, but gives it a nice exciting rough sound. Paddle shifters engage quickly. Numerous features come standard & extras all great for the price. Great warranty too.

Mostly enjoyed car.

I came from a Kia stinger 3.3t and The G70 was it. After 2.5 years I’m over it, It’s too low. had to replace a headlight due to condensation, trim corroding, roof pieces tarnishing, grill discolor. can’t wait to get rid of it. Mechanically sound ok.

Nice but has some flaws

In general I love this car. It has all the bells and whistles I was looking for in a luxury-line car. There are some flaws in design and execution, though, that I wish I could say are minor but are not. First, the driver's seat, despite having numerous adjustments, just isn't as comfortable as I thought it was when I bought it. There's not enough cushion so it's very stiff and after time in the saddle causes some soreness of my backside. Second, the driver-assist features, while well thought-out are not great in operation; the computer logic in use that senses moving obstacles often is erroneous and erratic, and when in its enhanced cruise mode is very slow to accelerate after slowing or stopping, so I often have to intervene and make it get-up-and-go, which is somewhat disappointing. Overall, I would not choose this vehicle if I could go back and make the choice again.

Great Car. Poor Dealer and Brand Follow through

The car itself was very nice. A little lacking in tech (wireless carplay/android auto) but the major issue was the promises without delivering from the brand and dealership network...Unable to book service with pickup, "welcome" gift was promised, never sent, promised to resend, never sent....

Have loved it so far!!

Vehicle has driven great and I really enjoy driving. The look of the car is beautiful! Have gotten many compliments on the vehicle. This car can really pick up and challenge many other sport vehicles on the road. This is my 2nd Genesis G70 and will continue with it!

Vehicle is Great! Service can be better.

Generally no issues with the vehicle. Mainly the service support/service convenience is a bit lacking. I have to drive pretty far to get to my dealership for maintenance. The plastic cover over the physical key fell off (which I understand is a common issue) and the dealership refused to cover it under warranty and insisted that it wasn't a defect. Otherwise the online service is excellent and I often prefer to go through them to talk to my dealership and arrange maintenance.

Surprisingly Perfect!

Car has all the features needed. Ride is smooth and sporty. Great for winter weather with the AWD. Feels like a luxury vehicle but gets in and out of traffic easily. Plenty of options. Had BMW’s for years but love my Genesis G70! The lease is much more reasonable for the value than most other comparable cars! I will be looking to lease another G70 at end of this term.

Disappointed.

Everything was wonderful at the dealership in Baton Rouge. Then, things started to decline. First, the framing around the windows began to fade quickly. It was replaced incorrectly, and I’ve returned it twice - each time I get an excuse. It’s still not fixed. Bothe headlights needed to be replaced due to water intrusion. I am never given a loaner, the communication at the service department is extremely poor, and you’re sharing a service area with Hyandai customers - all fighting to get seen. The side mirrors stopped tilting down when the car is in reverse, the screen goes out, and the truck doesn’t open half the time. I have 14k miles.

Summary

Looks—-beautiful. The styling is very nice. Ergonomics—below average. The back seat is much too small for a midsize sedan. I cannot drive it with four adults. The door handles are placed poorly to access from the inside. The driver has to remove his seatbelt to close the front door.

Great vehicle with no issues so far.

Could do better on suspension, dash board rattles at times and makes noise. Over all great vehicle and is fun to drive. Good standard safety options as well. Good build quality and comfortable to drive long distance. Need improvement on digital displays and make it little user friendly.

Wonderful

I love this car. Absolute pleasure to drive. The only two reasons it may not get a 5 is because the sunroof makes noise and it had some headlight fogging that was taken care of. They replaced the sunroof as well and the noise remained, albeit a lot less. Otherwise, this car is awesome. Sound quality of the speakers, seat comfortability, attention to detail, convenience, and build quality is amazing. Thank you Genesis

Unique and beautiful design, but low build quality

I really like the design of the car, both exterior and interior. The exterior is unique and head turning, and the interior is well put together and comfortable. But unfortunately the car's interior build quality is far below my expectation. Many parts of the car rattle and make noises even on city roads and street speeds. The power train is also not always smooth and sometimes the engine hesitates to deliver power as if the car has fuel delivery or ignition problem, but the Genesis dealership service could not find the root cause and all the diagnosis return normal results.

Service department needs improvement

My g 70 is a well built car but your service department needs improvement. Genesis needs a stand alone dealership were they sell and maintain there cars. It takes to long to get my vehicle in for the simplest of repairs. When I’m looking for another car I’ll check your competers.
