Responsive and beautiful vehicle, lots to love

Positives: Great form factor, strong engine, reliable so far, and good technology Negatives: Boot time occasionally on vehicle startup, bad gas mileage, having to pay for features that should be included (remote start, over air updates etc), bad dealership experiences

Some improvement needed to make this vehicle 5 star

I liked the chrome trim, grill and wheels of the Advanced, but it didn't come with HUD or heated rear seats. I wished it was an add-on option. I wished that the smart key would have been smart enough to recognize the driver as they approach to change settings automatically. I had vehicles 8 years older that could do that. I can lock my G90 by merely hitting the lock button on the door without having the fob with me. The GV70 cannot and becomes a pain in the you know what for that reason. The emergency key for the GV70 is a knuckle buster and almost impossible to use. It's not one of Genesis's best ideas. Having the bottom of the doors cover the rocker panels was also a bad idea. I end up scraping curbs and landscaping if I park on the ends or find myself unable to get out of the vehicle due to the lack of door ground clearance. I also find that in deep snow I am pushing the snow back with the bottom of the door. A few senseless features are the fingerprint authentication and remote parking. Way too slow or won't work much of the time. Nobody uses them. I also had issues with the remote start from the app that turned the driver's seat to full cool in the winter rather than heat. After 2 years of no resolution from Genesis, I traded the 2023 ICE for a 2025 eGV70 Prestige. So far, the EV has been just a huge improvement, other than some of the similar features and design flaws.

A smile on my face most of the time i drive it.

A great looking car that is loaded with all the do dads you could want. Very fun to drive. (Sometimes to fun to drive.) I have a few issues with starting sometimes. and if you would looking for some suggestions, the ambient light colors would be a little cooler if there were customizable. (Any color?) Also, other digital gauges would be cool. If not that, sport mode is red but the oil temp, turbo boost, and torque are still blue. Maybe make them red in the change and/or change them to red digital? Analog? You guys need an idea man? you could get me cheap... Have a nice day!!!

Love the vehicle but…

I have been a big proponent of Genesis for years. I encouraged my brother to purchase his GV80 and a few months later I bought my GV70. I realize the GV70 is a 3 time Car and Driver 10Best winner but I can only base my review on my personal vehicle which hasn’t been the best and has definitely affected my view of the brand. I purchased my 2023 GV70 3.5T Sport Prestige from a Genesis dealer as a CPO with 16k miles on the odometer after only 11 months. I later found out that it had been used as a service loaner which the dealer had neglected to inform me so that obviously didn’t make me happy as everyone knows how loaners are driven. Also, 16k is a lot of miles for a service loaner - typically they are retired and sold well before that so, odd. After only driving my GV70 for 4 months the vehicle stopped running - completely bricked. After 10 weeks at my local Genesis/Hyundai dealer they determined that the fuel pump wiring had been damaged (they didn’t tell me how) and needed to be replaced - fortunately under warranty. It took 3 weeks and personally contacting the dealership’s GM to even get a loaner - even though my Genesis CPO contract made it clear that for warranty repairs I am entitled to a complimentary loaner. Fortunately I was able to request and receive compensation from Genesis corporate for the 3 weeks without a loaner. Other issues I’ve had with my vehicle: all the dark chrome trim around the windows had to be replaced under warranty because of a known defect that causes corrosion (Car and Driver noted the same issue on their GV70), the driver side headlight corroded, the reverse monitor periodically cuts out which of course is dangerous while using it, and the digital gauge cluster flickers. I’m currently having my local dealership work on these issues so hopefully everything is repaired and I don’t have anything else go wrong going forward. Both my customer service experience with the selling Genesis dealership and my local dealership where I had it serviced (different locations) has been poor. Genesis customer service has been no different than my 20 years dealing with Hyundai dealerships and that is absolutely unacceptable for a “luxury” brand. My parents have driven Lexus’ since I was a kid and the dealership experience in both sales and service make you feel special. Genesis dealerships have never made me feel special. My local dealership has finally built a beautiful brand new Genesis building (unfortunately in the parking lot of their Hyundai store) with their own service department and a new service manager so hopefully things improve now on both the sales and service customer experience. However I recently noticed on my Genesis app that they still took my GV70 over to the old Hyundai building for one of my service repairs so clearly there’s still some issues they need to work out. In summary while Genesis has been making excellent vehicles and are finally getting their own dealership buildings there is A LOT of work to be done on the customer experience side of things to be considered a legitimate luxury brand.

It’s been a very good car in a 2+ years that we have owned it in

I have owned this car for 2+ years have had only a few things that needed to be corrected. Overall, I would say it’s been a very good car. But you need to work on your SERVICE body that at this point has been the only downfall

Love this car despite a few imperfections

My wife and I both love this car overall. The styling inside and out, is its greatest feature. We get compliments from friends, family and strangers over its looks. We find the car overall comfortable and easy and fun to drive. A good balance between smooth comfort and sporty drive. The car is loaded with the latest technology, and we generally find it intuitive and easy to work through. There are a couple of flaws we've found. First, is the infotainment center that can at times be very slow to boot up, and we sometimes struggle to get proper phone pairing with two phones in the vehicle, never sure which one it's going to select to connect to. Both these issues are common, but erratic, sometimes a problem, sometimes not. The other issue we've had is the interior temperature. Initially the set temperature in "auto" mode, seemed to feel spot on. But ~9 months ago, it now seems to get 5+ degrees colder than the set temperature. Whether it's hot or cold outside, we feel cold inside and find we have to set the temperature to 76 degrees for example for it to feel like 70 degrees.

overall a great small SUV. Flaw: not enough legroom in the rear seats

Overall a great car, great value, drives well, reliable, good tech. The major flaw is not enough leg room in the rear seats. This must be corrected. Also, should have PHEV upgrade. IF you did that, WOul buy or lease again. Will likely move to PHEV Kia Sorrento or hybrid Palisades

Sharp Looking Car

Love the GV70 styling - even better than the GV80. It's an easy car for a woman to drive, it is a fairly comfortable ride, with ample leg room, and nice features and tech. The only negative is that it uses gas quite quickly.

Good car for the money

I've owned Mercedes, BMWs and Lexus and find the Genesis slightly lower in quality and performance. The interior is nice but I'm not a fan of the spinning wheels to control the transmission and radio volume. I would say my GV70 reminds me of a Hyundai Santa Fe with leather.

mostly great car, terrible service at hyundai

car is great although AC had to be replaced, wheel paint peeled off but also replaced by warranty. now that im passed 65k miles, im worried. the car itself is very good but my experience having a "luxury" vehicle having to be serviced by Hyundai dealer has been terrible in comparison to BMW and Lexus. I would NOT buy another Genesis until I have a dedicated dealer in my city which as of now, there is not.

2023 Genesis GV70

Portrayed as an option to other upscale brands but this product and the support net has issues and growing pains to address before it can (I think) compete with Lexus, BMW, Audi etc. It use to outweigh those because of pricing but that has changed as well.
