Would be a 5 except for a couple of items

Mostly pros for this vehicle BUT, No wireless Apple CarPlay, poor fuel economy (6 cylinder), lack of in vehicle storage, unable to disable traffic cam alerts, no headup display standard at this price is a mystery. Overall, the car beats my BMW X-3. Smoother, faster, quieter and more luxurious than the x-3. Would give it 4.5 stars out of five or 9 of 10 points.

GV70

Overall a great car. Fingerprint, paint and minor issue using sport mode knocked it down a star in my book. Fingerprint reader does not work properly. Had issues with water spots on paint not coming off, ended up getting out the ones I could before applying a ceramic coating. Sometimes in sport mode, when I accelerate the engine does not switch gears and I end up revving my engine instead

Awesome Styling and Interior

We were not even considering a Genesis at first. The irony is that while at a Subaru dealership, we saw a magazine indicating how Genesis is a brand worth giving a try so we set up a test drive and were very impressed. We ended up purchasing and are very happy with the decision, barring a few things that we hope can be addressed. The windshield wipers are very ineffective and the silicone strip continually slides off the rail. There is also a small spot under the door trim on the driver’s door where there is no paint and some rust has developed. Once we get those resolved we look forward to many years of good service.

Great Car, Limited Dealership Access

This is a great car with great styling, comfort, and performance. I love it and the only negative I have is I wish it delivered a little better gas mileage. That said, I am UNHAPPY with the dealership network, as Genesis recently stripped my purchasing dealership of the brand (despite excellent customer service) and now I am forced to travel (or have car valeted) over 30-miles and deal with ridiculously extended service schedules if I want to to capture the brand-provided complimentary services and recall/warranty work.

IMPRESSED BUT NOT CONVINCED

Great styling and craftsmanship in an overcrowded SUV market but not convinced that the dealership can provide the service of other luxury brands such as my Audi dealership. Also disappointed in noise quality of the sound system and the wind noise on the highway.

Superb Vehicle

Vehicle is great, but the basic model kinda too basic, no folding mirror, no seat adjustment memory, it does have bright headlights at night and safety features in the day, if you concern about the safety of a vehicle, this could be it, just don't get the base model

Great Car for the Money

Overall I love the GV70, it needs a few refinements, customization and offer a Hybrid and/or PHEV powertrain options for better fuel economy and acceleration performance. Genesis MUST separate completely from Hyundai/Kia Dealerships to truly elevate the brand to a luxury monicher. You don't see Volkwagons at Audi or Toyotas at Lexus. Get rid of the cable for the Mobile Connectivitiy (Carplay/Android AUto, mobile apps etc).

Almost perfect

Not bad for what you pay for. Minus the issues, I'd buy again. More power would be nice to make the poor gas mileage exceptional. A better exhaust note also would have helped. And why have you all not implemented car play wireless? almost perfect, but not quite

What I expected

I researched this vehicle expensively online and took in a number of reviews. The vehicle is attractive inside and out, however, the wheels are horrible and I changed them immediately to 22" machine finished spokes (god I hate black and/or gray wheels). Would have liked to try the 3.5 liter version, however, they didn't have one on the lot, but the 2.5 liter is nothing to sneeze at.

First, I'm 84 yrs old. I bought this car for all the automatic safety features primarily. Next, some of the features are hard for me to program or understand. But for what I use regularly, transmission selector seems to be so similar to and close to the other dial, I catch myself operating the wrong control. The console storage seems to far to rear to use conveniently. The driver side window controls seem to far forward for easy use. Internal system tells me NAV/GPS needs to be updated. when I look to see how to do it, very cumbersome, not accomplished yet.

GV70 AWD issue

We like our 2023 GV70 styling interior and exterior, as well as overall driving experience. Major dissapointment was that after 3 months and 3000 miles the AWD yellow light came on and the car lost AWD traction in Dec 2022. I contacted the Genesis Dealer where we purchased the GV70 and sadly the Service Advisor or the Manager had never heard or seen this issue, although on the Genesis Owners forum many experienced this issue. Also, they wanted to keep the vehicle for a week to test it, and the next avail app was 1 month away... I opened a case with Genesis Corporate to reach out to the Engineers for this issue, but it was not possible. I called 2 more dealers and the last one was aware and knowledgeable about this AWD / Transfer Case issue. I had not performed the fix at that time because Genesis was replacing the Transfer Case with the exact same part#, which owners reported failure again 3-4k miles later. Eventually in Spring 2023 a TSB was issued. Overall great vehicle, but the Service and Service experience are areas of improvement.

Genesis gv70

The vehicle is beautiful and has lots of great safety features. I like the color and the seats and steering wheel is very convenient to use. The only problem I have is with connected services which doesn’t update. So each time I have to restart the whole system.

Very good

Very fun to drive, looks amazing , great features. Rear seats recline! Satin finish looks amazing. Kind of high maintenance to clean, but manageable. Interrior looks great. Ride quality is very smooth. One thing that was a huge disappointment is infotainment and navigation. Difficult to use and confusing. Need to take my eyes of the road to "play" with the screen to turn on Sirius, or to bring back turn by turn directions. Can't enter destination while in motion, need to either stop or use voice command, and it has trouble understanding numbers. On top of that when there are multiple close matches they are kisted in the narrow window on the left side of the screen, and only two first words are visible, so you don't know if you're clicking on 6601 Broadway in West New York, NJ , or 6701 Broadway in Bronx, NY. Very infuriating. Our previous car was Volvo with built in google maps, that was a breeze. But overall a great vehicle. (Except infotainment and navigation)

Enjoyable to drive. Issues with electronics.

The car is nice to drive. The 2.5 is plenty powerful. The connect feature did not work for 3 months and after a lot of back and forth with Genesis customer service, a software update for the car was pushed out which fixed the problem finally. Just now the feature to monitor distracted driving appears to have stopped working. The fact that there is no wireless CarPlay is a kind of big disappointment. More storage areas would be nice. Dealership....good for a Hyundai dealership, lacking for what Hyundai wants Genesis to be. When you get the top level 2.5 GV70, there is no HUD included or available. That's not good as they have one, but only for 3.5 engine buyers.

Great Car - some maintenance issue

I love my Genesis GV70 - the interior controls and comfort are wonderful and it handles well. The only negative is that I have had to take my GV70 in for service twice for a Powertrain issue. Most recently, I had to drop my car off at the dealership and they indicated it would be at least 4-6 weeks before they could diagnose the issue. Unfortunately they did not have any loaner cars available and I live about 1 hour from the dealership. It has been quite an inconvenience.

One of life's mistakes

It is hard to understand my review cause the GV70 seems to be a good choice if you are sure you want a SUV. It was a bad choice for me cause I had been driving a sports sedan for 8 years and that is the driving feel I enjoy. If you coming out of a car you really loved driving then make sure you like the car you are considering to purchase.

Nice car. Good drive, good looking. We had to wait for the vehicle since inventory was low. We were offered the cars but waited for the color combination that we preferred. Service team was also friendly. We are considering purchasing another vehicle.

2023 GV70 Adanced Trim - Feedback

It is a very elegantly designed car with many rookie product management mistakes. I have listed them throughout the survey feedback. Fun to drive and has many great features but falls short of what I would call the ultimate luxury car. Many short comings are simple changes and should not be big cost to the manufacturer.

Issues with service

Vehicle itself is good. I replaced an Audi SQ5, this feels like a step down in performance, but features and price are better. Service has really been my only issue. With no local dealership I have to travel over 4 hours, which is fine, but I can’t get an appointment for over 6 months no matter the issue. I have a recall and water getting into my headlights… 9 month wait for an appointment.
