Dissatisfied 2024 GV80 owner

I’ve purchased many new vehicles, but this 2024 GV80 Prestige with 455 miles does not crank or start. I haven’t had the car long enough to give it a rating other than poor. It was towed to the dealership and parked for days, in the same spot. I hope no one else experiences this.

VOCs. Horrible Horrible VOCs. Car had to sit with windows down in the sun for 49 days before I could drive it without my trachea getting painful, nausea etc. I got sick on both test drives but it never ever occurred to me that someone would sell a car where if I put my arm and hand on the center console they would get NUMB... Yes, numb every time I tried to drive the car. AND SICK oh, my gosh. I was in the U.S. Army etc and I have never experienced anything like this and the deal and national basically told us "too bad". They would not do a single thing for us, nothing. Hard to believe but true and I have bought new cars ever since I was commissioned in 1984. Foreign and domestic cars, trucks, campers, boats and motorcycles.

Customer service leaves a lot to be desired

We spent $80,000 and waited 3 months for the car to arrive. At first, we loved the car. Now, only owning the car for less than 3 months, we are experiencing connectivity issues. The problem is not that it is experiencing connectivity issues it is with customer service. We contacted Genesis and they tried to fix the issue with various restarts. Needless to say, they did not work. Then they told us NOT to take the car to the dealership. Not sure why. Then they told us it would take a week for tech support to call back. That is very poor customer service. It should not take a week to get a call back. So, we waited a week and no call back. We called customer support back and again they tried to fix the issue with various restarts. It did not work. So they tell us now we have to wait another week for a call back. I am very disappointed with the level of customer support.

Too many Flaws to overcome the Highs

Glitches tech. Really poor fuel economy. Highest trim 20k more. Basic mats? Older usb a connections? No wireless android auto? 1 massaging seat? Rear HVAC controls the entire vehicle? The dealership is doesn't honor the we owe to fix. It doesn't feel like a premium experience at all.

Reliability not great so far

I have had my car for 6 weeks and it is already in the shop for repairs because it won't start. Genesis has a valet program, but they don't get you a car for a week so you are stuck in the meantime. Now my car has been in the shop for a week with part on backorder and they can't give me a date I will get my vehicle back.

Dealer could do better

The vehicle itself is nice, but not noticeably better than the the 2021 Lexus RX that it replaced. There are a few glitches with the bluetooth and Apple Car Play connectivity, but those are irritants rather than anything that would keep me from buying another one. The biggest issue that I have noticed is that the lane assist seems to have trouble keeping a straight track, but has a tendency to constantly move from one side to the other - perhaps an alignment issue, but I have not had that checked out yet and with less than 2000 miles on currently and having bought it new, this should not be happening. My experience with the dealer was good up to the point of getting my copy of the signed documents via email (leased vehicle). During our negotiations, I made it very clear we were talking about 12,000 miles per year and that was clear. When signing everything, that had been changed to 10,000 miles without my knowledge, and shame on me for not noticing. I noticed it only after I got my copy via email and I pointed it out right away as I was sure that it was a mistake. It was indeed a mistake - my mistake. Long story short - the dealer will not make good on our deal and if I drive the expected 12,000 miles per year, I'll end up paying $1500 in mileage fees when I turn it in. Not a big deal on a $70,000+ vehicle, but I feel that the dealer was disingenuous at best. Still hoping the dealer will make this right, but I'm now two months into the lease and I have no resolution. Shame on Hyundai and Genesis! No matter how great the vehicle, an honest dealer should be their number one concern.

Its nice but the technology is not as good as its competitors. When your spending that kind of money it should be wow. The car should work with all phones not just androids. Genesis is not like going to a Lexus or Mercedes or infinity dealer. Cars are pricey yoou should receive all that

Too soon to make a review

Overall you built a stylish looking vehicle with a lot of safety features. The handling and engine performance is good. I had some issues with the head unit freezing up. I contacted the concierge service who showed me how to do a soft restart. This has happened already a few times. My vehicle has less than 800 miles on it. Again, your choice on choosing an auto stop default that is automatically on when you start the vehicle was in my opinion a poor choice.

Genesis

Pretty good. Wireless charger does not work. Dealership and Genesis so far has been disappointing. I still do not have tags for my car because paperwork has not been sent to courthouse for me to pick up. Was told dealership would call and they have not.

Overall I think the Genesis is a great vehicle, but having a sensor fail within the first month of purchase is disappointing. I spent a considerable amount of money to purchase this vehicle, and to not be able to drive it due to issues I had no part in creating is discouraging.

On the right path but needs some tweaking

The vehicle is beautiful inside and out and filled with safety features but some that become a fault. For the price, there are features missing and others will be rarely used such as the assisted back up by remote in the event you are squeezed in a parking spot. Id rather prefer heated cup holders.

GV80 Genesis

The GV80 3.5T Premier is a beautiful SUV with a beautiful exterior and interior finish! The ride is smooth but be prepared for trips to fuel up! The usb port is the larger port and it doesn’t have a foot step—up but that’s minimal for the over-all quality of the vehicle. Over-all, it’s a a great vehicle and I don’t regret the purchase!

Poor gas mileage relative to that stated in advertising. May be too soon to evaluate.

Very satisfied with the vehicle. would certainly buy it again. Will need more time to evaluate the gas consumption as I have less than 600 miles on the vehicle. Would like to see the 360 degree camera come on automatically at very low speed. The massage function is over rated. Too much chrome. Difficult to polish the grill to eliminate water spots. Would like to have been able to get black wheels to minimize the chrome. Too much chrome on the sides.

A true luxury experience

I recently bought the 2024, GV 80 Brunswick green matte finish 3.6 L engine. I was considering replacing my 2018 Lincoln navigator with a 2023 Lincoln aviator but the comparison to the GV 80 made it very easy for me to select the Genesis. The car has exceptional styling both in the exterior and the interior. It's loaded with the most latest technology. Ride, smooth and quietly, and extremely well fitted for comfort.

Exceptional SUV, exceeds all my expectations. As a former new car dealer I am very demanding.

Wanted a GV 80 since its introduction. I previously owned a new G90. I was not able to find a GV80 at a reasonable price or at a dealer I trusted. I also wanted a specific color and equipment. The GV 80 has lived up to every expectation and even though my dealer was 100 miles away, they have provided a Ritz Carlton experience.

A New Luxury Mid-size SUV

The Genesis GV-80 for 2024 is a great addition to the luxury Mid-size SUV lineup. It offers excellent comfort and performance that surpasses many of the competitors. After driving it for about 1-1/2 months, I am more impressed with it than when I first purchased it. It provides excellent comfort for driving and riding. The entertainment system provides excellent sound and clarity to make the time pass quickly. The fuel economy is consistent with other engines of its size and the shifting is smooth as expected.

A luxury SUV that competes well with the others in its class

Solidly built, well thought out presentation. Like all new cars, the amount of technology/information can be overwhelming, but the Genesis provides options to streamline what you see and helps deliver a calming ride. Some of the best car seats I've sat in - good support, luxurious feel. Surprising pep for a car this heavy. Really happy with the fit/finish and the feel of all the controls/knobs - everything has the appropriate "weight" to it.
