Excellent car but poor service

My Genesis is an excellent vehicle, but the service provided by the dealership is terrible. Nothing like the great service I received with my Lexus.

Poor Service experience.

I brought my car in for annual service along with a noise when the left passenger window was rolled down. When my vehicle was dropped off afterwards, the window problem was not addressed. The service advisor was untruthful when indicating they were unable to replicate the problem. Eventually, I had to bring in my vehicle three times before it was fixed (ripped car door molding). Also, the Services advisor had indicated that a loaner vehicle would be provided when I brought my vehicle in the third time. However, when I arrived, one was not available, and the service advisor simply didn’t care. I escalated the problem to the service manager, who subsequently provided me a loaner vehicle.

excellent vehicle but terrible service with Crown

I love my 2024 Genisis I had a 2021 and got the 2024 I had planned to get a 2027 GV80 but I am a bit reluctant to do that because of the Terrible service from the dealership Crown Hyundai. One of the bright spots of owning the GV80 was the 36 month maintenance free guarantee and valet service with a loaner. Crown is terrible for getting a service appointment and they have never been able to supply a loan. They have a driver come out by Uber pick my car up and when it's returned he calls an Uber driver to pick him up. He waits at my home for the P/U. Very bad service department which makes me think about another choice of vehicle I think something should be done about this in order to keep your customers because the car is great.

Miserable ownership experience

Car makes so many beeps and sounds for no reason it is incredibly annoying. Terrible fuel efficiency. Rear doors do not unlock with keyfob in hand or pocket. Driver cabin storage is terrible and insufficient.

I was sold a lemon

Within 3 days of picking up my brand new GV80 2024 on January 9, 2024 the electrical system went haywire. I took it to a Genesis dealer who could not fix my problem. Then they claimed the fixed the problem, however, I found out they tried to install a rebuilt computer screen. The problem was still not solved. I filed a lemon law case with Genesis in CA. They refused to buy back my car, but offered a condolence check of $1,100 with assurance a NEW computer would be installed. The car was at the dealer for a month while they waited for the screen. Then in the 2nd year my rear differential went out. Kept my car for 2 days, still wasn't fixed. Took it back and the noise is no longer heard. Then a week later the alarms were going off and warned me it needed immediate service. I went thru Genesis services to make this appt. -very helpful and courteous. The dealership gave me a rental with Enterprise. The car was there for 2 days. Diagnosis=The battery was not charging? It still is making random alerts on the dashboard when I am stopped at a light. Never did this before until recently. The car is just 2 years old. On the bright side, the car rides very nice, and the sound system is excellent.

good vehicle

I had an accident, not my fault. I am wondering how it will be handled at turn in if I choose to buy it off lease. I was told no discount for the car damage. Damage was 39000. No discount, really. I was told by company rep we will get our money. Well no dealer is going to give you their lease payout price. At auction it will be recognized and discounted as well. Seems strange to me

Seats

Seats are absolutely horrible for a car of this luxury, especially the driver seats that feels like you’re sitting on a rock because the massager doesn’t realign.

Cost too much to be at dealership for repairs already

The suspension could be alot better. I feel alot of bounce when I hit a bump. I have a pop in my wheel when turning left. I have already had the rear suspension and steering colum fixed

Engine stalled five times on us

The engine has stalled while during 5 times. The car has been out in the dealership for repairs for a total of 7 months in the last 9 months. Had to get a rental car go back home during an out-of-town travel (the cost for rental this time so far has been $2800 and still going while Genesis decided to tow the car from Chicago to D.C. to the dealership where I purchased the car). You would think due to safety, convenience, brand, and cost issues the company would just buy the car back to see what is wrong with the engine. The case just drags on with us not really having enjoyed the car for a period of a year.
