Did not make 5000 miles before it completely failed

With less than 5000 miles on it, the car completely failed, as in could not be driven. I reported to roadside assistance that the battery was dead and it could not be driven (it’s an electric car). They sent someone to provide a jump. I had to figure out how to get a human on their roadside assistance line in order to get it towed to a dealer. Communication from the dealer was poor “because they are understaffed.”

Nice car

I have enjoyed driving the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq5. Smooth and quick acceleration. Range is good, though not as advertised once hills are involved. It has some quirks that are bothersome and puzzling: No rear windshield wiper. No air flow vents in the back seat area. Very little interior storage for such a large car, and what is there isn't particularly useful. See details below

Beautiful Car, but feel like a hostage

This is a beautiful car. Amazing performance, lots of comfort features. Definitely feels like the right combination of luxury and performance. Unfortunately, having experienced an ICCU failure that took almost 2 months to fix, I am VERY hesitant to keep it from the long term. So yeah, I am conflicted...

I really wanted to love this car - but the software is super bad.

This could be and frankly should be a great car. It's spacious, it looks great (maybe the exterior is a little over-wrought - too much ornamentation like the weird buzz saw triangles on the fenders), it handles great, the interior is nicely appointed - it's got so much going for it. But the user interface and software is so bad - it's a disaster.

Great except for psychological anxiety of ICCU issues

Great car for me. No issues for me. But reading all the ICCU failures on the internet, and that after getting ICCU failure, there will be months of waiting for a replacement part, plus if ICCU fails on the highway in the night, there is a real danger because other cars may crash into me... that makes me afraid of driving it for long trips. If that is not fixed my next car will not be a Hyundai. All of my friends will also know about it.

Best EV

all was well, just concerned about the ICCU issue. Did not happen to me but I am aware that it happend to other ioniq 5s and it was a worry in the back of my mind.

Needs better electrinics

Should have wireless carplay Should hold all settings to previously driven settingss Should rearrange entire settings to be able to find the settings one is looking for Should get rid of self centering if you can’t fix the erratic steering Shouldn’t wait for the last second to slow down while driving in cruise control Should have auto locks when exiting Should be able to lock car while exiting with the car running Should have door handles that don’t scream that the car is unlocked Should have AGM battery Should fix ICCU Should have power folding rear seats Should have 220v v2l in USA Should have preconditioning button Should be able to use Apple ios to open/start car, etc Should have the low windshield fluid warning light to come on before it’s empty

Decent Ride for my First EV

It’s our first EV. I wish I would have done a lot more research and went a different route. However, it’s a decent car. Would I buy this specific brand again, probably not. I’m glad I got a lease, it’s a good car don’t get me wrong but there are some details that are so very cheap inside that are a shame they went that route. I wish I would have for the next years model or even the next trim.

Sweet Ride

I am really enjoying this car. It's comfortably roomy and I really enjoy the design. I wish it had better mileage on open roads. If I go ona road trip I have to stop every 3 hrs to recharge. But for city driving, it is excellent!

Good vehicle, but unusable for months.

The Ioniq 5 is a very nice car. It feels very premium and we love driving it. However, after one year, ours developed the dreaded ICCU issue that plagues this model. Our Ioniq 5 is currently at the dealership, where a replacement part is on backorder. By the time we get it back, it will have been at the dealership for over two months. I love the car, but I hate paying for a vehicle that I can't even use. as far as features, my main complaint is the climate control system. You have to press a physical button which then opens up a new menu on the touchscreen. The menu is somewhat confusing and I hate using the touchscreen. I'd greatly prefer analog climate controls.

A Wise Choice

I am very happy with this vehicle in all categories save one - rear window wiper. The 2024 model does not have.Every car I have owned in more than 20 years has had one. What was once a convenience is now a necessity. The airfoil above the rear window does little to shed water from the rear window. This may have been address in later models, I hope so.

Good daily, jack of all trades

Great car for daily use - dropping off kids, semi autonomous modes are useful for long drives in traffic - flexible storage options allow carrying large objects. Suspension can be improved - the damping is too soft and allows 2-3 more oscillations than needed. Can be unsettling, almost dangerous, at higher speeds.

Endless 12V battery problems make this vehicle unreliable.

I love this car. Great to drive, comfortable. Fast charging. Nice electronics. But... Constant 12V battery issues. I carry a jump pack so I can start the car when the 12V dies. Hyundai puts an inadequate battery in this car and the software to maintain it clearly doesn't work. I've had it in service a dozen times. I'm always told that the battery is fine and they don't see a problem. I escalated to Hyundai and after months they determined that they wouldn't do anything for the problem. I considered filing a lemon law complaint and still might, but the "depreciated value" is horrible - the vehicle has lost over 50% of the value in 18 months! I can't afford to trade it in and Hyundai clearly either isn't capable or just outright refuses to deal with it. This is my last Hyundai. If you are thinking about getting one look into the forums.

Terrific experience despite clunky dashboard and back hitch rattle

I very much enjoy the car. Such a smooth ride and good range. The hitch rattle is quite annoying and the dealer worked on it and made it worse. The dash controls are surprisingly clunky. I'm highlighting the few negatives when in fact I really like the car.

Great car

We love the mileage and the ease of charging w our home charger. Great storage and carry room for the size of the car. Why no rest defrost, and why so many reasons to take your eyes off the road. Hyundai USA is horrible to deal with. A minor issue with the power up battery took them a month to solve by changing the battery. Yes, a month .
