2020 Kona

Very happy with car so far. It’s cute, it drives really well. Easy to park. Good gas mileage. (My 14 year old granddaughter has already named it and claimed it for herself when she’s old enough to drive!). It’s smaller than my last Hyundai, but I’m happy with it. It’s the car we take when we travel (to parks, beaches,etc)

Love my Kona!

I love my Hyundai Kona! The turbo engine makes it quick and fun to drive, although even when I don’t have it in sport mode, my Kona zips around quickly and smoothly. It’s very comfortable for driver and passengers, is good on gas, the stereo system is great, and I feel really safe in my car. This is my first Hyundai, but they’ve definitely won me over!

Small with no power

The car is very small without much room, especially in the hatch. The car has no power or speed and even has a governor set. When trying to pull out quickly into traffic, it hesitates. The stereo system sucks. Terrible. When songs are on the radio, it only shows the radio station but not the song or artist. Allegedly you can connect to your phone to add contacts etc, but other than making calls hands free, I am unable to access contacts but only recent calls to refer to. Texting via the phone is not possible, as I was able to do with my Subaru. Android Auto only works if you connect it to a hard wire port, and not via the charging dock. Not only that, Google Maps only works with Android Auto, meaning the phone must be physically plugged in via charging cord, and then other features won't work, such as radio. I am very disappointed in this car and wish I did more research in it before buying it.

Very poor

Engine blew within 6 months. No offer to replace. Just to repair or buyback. Loss a lot on transaction. Told dealership what I wanted and corporate but no offer. My life not that important. Corporate didn't agree with outcome but they did it anyway

Best New Car

My Kona is my first brand new car. I bought the last Orange 2020 from my dealer, and it is the snazziest car I've ever driven. I get compliments all the time about the appearance, the ease to drive, the way it feels. It's what a subcompact SUV is supposed to feel like. I've hauled an entire 25 year old tree (cut up, of course) in the back, a 50" TV, moved twice (almost thrice now), a lawn mower, and an assortment of other things. I just graduated college, have a 40 minute commute now, and currently have 20k miles on my little lady, and she's done me so good. If you're on the fence, I urge you to reconsider: it's sleek, it's snazzy, it carries a good bit of cargo.

This survey took longer to fill out than it did to buy the car. Why are you requiring so many questions that seem to repeat themselves over and over. My experience with this survey is negative but I still love my Kona

Engine recall

High oil consumption. Defective engine rings No confidence in thus vehicle for long trips as you never know if the engine may have issues and hyundai just says wait till it blows up and we will fix it.

Love this car

I love this car! It fits me perfectly and drives super nice. It comes in fun colors and is great on a long drive. This is my first automatic car and I’ll never drive a manual again. It looks cool and accelerates really fast.

I really enjoy my Hyundai Kona! Best decision ever. I didn’t want a full size SUV so the Kona was the perfect size for what I need. I bought during a blizzard and drove it straight home with no problem

Just waiting for the engine to fail...

Just waiting for the engine to fail. It has bad piston rings. If it fails on the highway it might kill you. It can also burst into flames while sitting in your garage and burn your house down and kill your family. Hyundai has no plans to fix this defect unless the engine actually seizes and then only if it's still under warranty.

Love it

What a fun little car to drive. I want to race a road rally when ever I’m behind the wheel. Love the styling. It runs great in the snow with out any traction problems. A winding mountain road is a dream come true. Love it.

Great car for the mountains

Cute little car with great design and a wonderful powertrain (1.6t awd) a bit small but drives excellent. Not a Subaru so you don't have to set a few thousand aside for head gaskets. Entertainment system is very good.

Great looks and fun to drive.

My first but not my last Hyundai. Love the quality, style, and performance of the Kona. The 1.6 Turbo coupled with the 7 speed dual clutch transmission provides excellent power while delivering great fuel economy. Add the numerous features usually only found on much higher priced vehicles, and the Kona wins hands down.

What a great little car!

I bought my 2020 Hyundai Kona in September of 2019. Let me say one thing....I LOVE my car!!! It is the perfect size and fit for my 5'7" frame with plenty of head and foot room. The gas mileage is great, between 26-28mpg in town and up to 36mpg on the open highway. It is fun knowing a full tank of gas is going to last me the full month when I only drive in town (which is most of the time). The color has stayed bright and clear, and I certainly enjoy the compliments I receive from others.

Love my Kona

A very nice dependable vehicle. Very stylish. Has a lot of bells and whistles! Nice interior. The radio system sounds really good. The car handles nicely. It's just an all around nice little vehicle to have.

I purchased this vehicle for a new driver. The price for all the options was a big plus She chose this vehicle mostly because of heads up display and outside looks. For me she got more car for less money.

Kona

Kona is a great car, but it was made poorly. It is fun to drive, comfy, and super adorable. However, the quality of the materials in the cars interior is poor quality and scratches and stains really easy. AC is not keeping up with California summers, sometimes it takes 30-40 minutes to cool the car

Its a nice car

Need to know about the recalls in a timely fashion. Especially concerning the engine. If you want me to do this guit expecting more, it’s a nice car for the money, accelerating is chunky is probably my most complaint!
