Good Value - Great Features
The Hyundai Palisade is the best value in the full size SUV market. Its technology is unsurpassed, even by much more expensive vehicles. Together with the styling, luxury interior, comfort, and 7 seats makes it the one to have. That is not to say there are not a few things that are lacking. An automated steering wheel column adjustment for one. The color combinations are also a bit wonky and misnamed. The "Beige" interior is beautiful, but its more cream\off white, with header to match. Its just a lot of "white" & serious concerns about soiling. So we chose black (despite our desert environment) and so far its ok owing to the cooled ventilated seats. A few instrument controls seem "backwards" (tachometer goes right to left & drive controls has reverse at the top\forward at the bottom). But not major issues. Another gripe is the lack of an easy way to cancel navigation. All in all it is the most advanced vehicle we have ever owned, although admittedly (like many such things) most of the technology we simply do not use and some just becomes annoying after a while. Styling is a bit plain from the sides & wish there were chrome accents like on the Genesis GV80. But, at least the Palisade has a spare tire. (Advanced models of the GV80 do not & rely on included roadside service, which may be fine unless you are stranded in the desert with no cell coverage.) All-in-all a great vehicle at a moderate price.
An Aside: The dealer sold us an add on GPS tracking device for theft protection (similar to LoJack, although more expensive). Issues with that aside, seems this is so common place that manufacturers would have integrated this with all the other electronics. Add-on devices such as this are too easily defeated.
