Practical but not again
I’ve been driving the 2023 Hyundai Palisade for a while now, and while it covers the basics, it’s not a vehicle I’d choose again. It was a practical purchase in a pinch, but in hindsight, I wish I’d waited for an electric or hybrid option—this one just doesn’t keep up with the times.
Performance-wise, acceleration is a definite weak spot. It’s sluggish off the line and slow to respond when merging or passing. For a car that looks this polished inside, I expected more kick under the hood.
Speaking of the interior—it’s probably the best part. The luxury-style touches are solid: comfortable seats, smooth dashboard layout, and a generally premium feel. But then it’s missing wireless Apple CarPlay, which feels like a glaring omission in 2023. Having to plug in every time just undercuts that high-tech vibe it’s trying to sell.
There are also some practical drawbacks. The stock tires wore out way too quickly; I had to swap them out within the first two years. And with the third row up, trunk space is basically a no-show. Not ideal for family trips, kids with multiple sports or Costco runs.
Overall, it’s a good-looking SUV that plays the part on the surface but lacks the depth—whether it’s performance, tech, or long-term value. I wouldn’t make the same choice again.
