I really wanted to like this thing…

The vehicle has so much to offer it really is a shame that it lets just a few items bring it down so far. Bluelino being your main app to interact with the car is a far inferior experience to any others on the market. From lack of options to inexcusable lag time between issuing an app command to the vehicle responding is just so odd for such an established feature set within the market. The most egregious flaw however is the gear shifter which I will escalate from calling simply a weird and poorly executed design to a flat out dangerous one. I predict a recall on this item in the future as it will undoubtedly be at the center of several lawsuits as accidents occur from its lack of response, incorrect execution of the given input and poor design concept to begin with. And lastly a very slow and poorly executed design performing user interface of car play with difficult multi user management to hypertensive alerts and overly aggressive driver assist features with no ability to fine time them. I understand that when most people review a vehicle they do so on gas mileage, performance, drive quality and the other essential primary component operation. Those are the things this vehicle does well. But infortunately you’ll never notice because you’ll be to busy being distracted by the items I listed. In order to appreciate the vehicle you have to first control and interact with it. If doing so is a bad experience then that’s all you’ll ever notice. And that’s all I’ve ever noticed.

2026 Hyundai Tucson Hev

We are very happy with our purchase. Prior to this we have had 2 Santa Fe’s since 2005. Their size increase that we didn’t need is why we changed to the Tucson. For some reason my tall husband actually has more room in the Tucson than he did in the Santa Fe. Love it!

You won't be disappointed however...

The good things about the car are really good. The ride is pretty smooth. The styling is unbelievable for a $28k vehicle. Very good gas mileage (I get about 490 miles to the tank driving in Eco). No more driving on a computer screen or using buttons to shift. A real shifting paddle that works pretty well. Love the ease of use in the app (although it is a little slow-maybe an update is coming). There are a few design flaws that's really annoying. The AC vents are in a weird location. It's hard to get the driver side vent adjusted. It points directly at the steering wheel and misses me completely. The drive train keeps changing when I put my arm on the arm rest. The cruise control and volume functions are on the opposite side (most cars have the volume on the left side). There is a lack of overall storage in the car, but not in the trunk (better than you think for a small SUV). The trunk cover is really unnecessary and the retractable mechanism takes up too much space. It would actually be better if it was a hard, removable cover than the retractable one, or none at all. That stupid "Take a coffee break" message keeps popping up after 5 miles of driving. The display has too much information and it's just too technical to read and understand. The manual is not much better either. Isn't there a video for that? When changing from Eco to Sport, there is a very hard shift. Overall, I still believe it is worth the money for this SUV. The pros outweigh the cons.

Seems to work but...

The display info is not exactly user friendly. The engine works well but it keeps changing from eco to sport. The engine jumps hard when changing drives. It's hard to read the manual, no videos. I wish the volume and cruise control changed sides, and the ride drive was in another location. Gets in the way when I put my arm on the arm rest. The AC vents are in weird locations. Still it's a smooth ride, looks good, and great on gas.
