So Many Features - So Little Time

So many things available for driver safety and convenience. The technology is far above my previous 18 year old ride and, frankly overwhelming; and I am a technical geek. Where I have ventured in the short period I have owned the Tucson, things are very understandable with one exception (so far). Getting CarPlay to work is confusing. I have yet to get the maps from the iPhone to appear on the Tucson screen. The GPS appears to function correctly as the software tracks the car, albeit on a gridded background instead of the map base. Advice from the Web recommends disconnecting and reconnecting the Bluetooth connection. I have not elected to try that so far as I find it easier to use the internal Nav system. Let sleeping dogs lie, so to speak. The vehicle is quite a comfortable ride and has ample leg room along with considerable rear accessible space. I have not yet had the opportunity to take the Tucson on a trip lasting more than 45 minutes and have not yet reached 1,000 miles (really, really close 962 miles), but the seat is not tiring. In my mind, no one achieves perfection (a 10 rating) unless there is no alternative. Since I have experienced no failures to date, the 10 rating is deserved.

only drawbacks are:

I have a few issues about this car. Back seat light needs a button closer to the door! I have short arms & cannot reach the center button to turn on the light in the dark. I typically leave my keyfob in my purse, so when I take a first round of items into my house I need to be able to lock my car w/o using my keyfob!!!! Not sure how “safe” it is to have the vehicle unlocked…. I do not like how the sensors see objects & vehicles that are beside my lane of travel & cause the car’s breaks to lock up. I no longer have the ability to use cruise control unless I am the only vehicle on the road. The center console really needs to have better storage options!!! My old vehicle had swivel covers to stow my small items in & the main storage box under the armrest had a tray. Not to mention the back of the console had a pull out drawer for the back passengers to stow things in. If these issues were resolved I would love my new vehicle so much more!

Needs some improvements

We do like the car. But it does need improvements like the engine that is in. It is very noisy and clunky, especially when it’s under a load. The driving assist absolutely loses its mind through intersections and pulls either hard right or hard left. The adaptive cruise control is not very responsive and on curves sees the other vehicles and other lanes and brakes for them abruptly. also hate the fact that you got rid of the automatic folding mirrors you would think for purchasing the premium version. It would’ve had all that. and the hybrid system it’s very clunky when it goes from gas to hybrid. and when you go to get in the car and you turn it on loading the profile for the person in the car takes four ever.

Great car but wish I could use iPod

This cars features are great and helpful with some of them. I would like a option to be able to use my iPod that has all my purchased audiobooks. This car does not read the iPod correctly. It brings up random numbered files with mixes of every track. I want a patch for this if possible so I can listen to my purchased books. Apple does not allow android users to use a separate app for their purchased books.

Love my Tucson

I love all the features on my Tucson. The only thing I would change is not having any buttons on the bottom of the rear view mirror (garage door opener, assistance, etc), When I go to adjust the mirror after my husband drives, it’s easy to accidentally push a button. And I would like a sunglass holder up top. Otherwise it’s been great!

Plesantly Suprised!

I have owned Chevy most of my life. I started looking at other brands for value plus longevity. I took a chance on the Tuscon Hybrid because it was the size I wanted and I loved the idea of getting 37-40 mpg. It took some getting used to because several things are different from Chevys. I purchased the lifetime bumper-to-bumper warranty, so I don't need to worry about any repairs as long as I own it. That is comforting to know! It rides and handles very well. The only thing I wish they did differently is purchase smaller packages to put on a car. I don't regret switching at all!
