Workhorse

We have had this car for 27 years. It still gets over 30 mpg. It has 190,000 miles on it. The engine has never had a problem, nor has the transmission. Runs super. We have towed a utility trailer with it for 4 years, and loaded over 500 pounds of lumber in it, and many runs of 8' 2x4's and cut down sheets of plywood. The paint is finally starting to fade, but the car was only in a garage for 4 years, the rest of the time parked in a driveway. We replaced the timing belt once, other than that a few batteries, one window regulator, brake pads and shoes and spark plugs. All bulbs are still original! We love our Protege

Mazda, great value, good gas milage

I have owned two used Mazda Proteges. When this own dies, I will buy another. This model has been replaced by the Mazda 3. The write ups are good. The price is right. Good styling. Great ride. Inexpensive repairs.

Best Damn Car I Ever Had!!!

17 years old & still going like new. Gets 30 to 40 MPG. Looks as good as new.

one hell of a car

bought it new in June 1999. Gets 40 MPG on long highway driving. between 28 & 32 combination driving. Has only needed regular service. I have 170000 miles of mostly care free driving.

Great little car!

Purchased in 2001, this vehicle has been a "daily driver". Good mileage & a breeze for getting around. Now has almost 109,000 miles and going strong. Pleased with the reliability, fit & finish. Still looks good.
