Mr & mrs Davis came our shop because they attempted repair of their vehicle themselves and while driving from Astoria Or. to Portland Or. the wiring shorted, melting the power wire and damaging the starter & solenoid. At approximately 1:00 PM I chaose to have one of our technicians stop the job they were on and set aside our regular customer to work on the Davis' vehicle so they could continue their trip. We corrected the errors, replaced the damaged parts and got them on their way. Even though we put them in front of scheduled customers, they were charged the same as any other customer, nothing extra. I suppose because they obviously do most of their own work, they are not used to hiring a professional to perform repairs, this was fairly easy to discern given the condition of the vehicle.
