2023 Genesis G70 3.3T Sport Prestige

I purchased this G70 to replace my 2020 Genesis G70 3.3T. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my 2020 once Genesis was able to fix the poor Brembo brakes installed on the car. I was only interested in the Tasman Blue and was told the closest dealership with that color and package was almost 200 miles away. I Made a deal with Werner Hyundai in Tallahassee, Florida and drove there to pick up my new car. I WILL NEVER BUY A GENESIS FROM THIS DEALERSHIP OR ANY OTHER HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP AGAIN.

Disappointed

Disappointed Tex in gas mileage and little room for leg space in back seat. Also my 2 experiences with service department were unfavorable. The vehicle is not as favorable as any of my Lexus vehicles . There is no courtesy or reliability with service department

G70 Sport Prestige

The car isn't perfect but it's pretty close. The biggest upside is the value for the money. Other vehicles in its class can cost more and have less features or be less equipped. The performance and feel of the car is also very good. My biggest issue with the car is that the look and sound of the exhaust are not how I would've liked them to be. I wish the tailpipes were better implemented into the design of the rear bumber and exhaust had a stronger sound. Overall even though I have some issues with it I am very happy with my purchase.

Pass anything but a gas station

I get lots of love and genuine intrigue regarding the car. Has plenty of power when you need it. Just don't skip the gas station as it goes quick. I'm averaging 20 mpg and I don't drive very spirited often. Have used the concierge service a few times and have had good results. Although I have not received any nicer vehicles as a loaner.

Great car and fun to drive

I love that this car is a sleeper and nobody has a clue how fast it is. I have driven it to 160mph on a track with no issues and vibrating. I even commute 200+ miles round trip for qork and I don't get out sore or uncomfortable. A little small inside for back seat passengers, but I don't drive with too many people any way.

Cool car to drive

The car is amazing but it needs better quality control on the exterior some lines are not lined up perfectly, the brake system needs to be better, The interior is beautiful and the sound system is great, however some electrical stuff needs to be better like finger touch less on the door handle needs to be quick responsive.

I like the car all lot, I don’t understand why there isn’t a full digital dash. My Elantra had it and so does my wife’s sonata and the other cars I looked at in the class. I like the performance but fuel economy can be better. Overall styling is good but seat quality and comfort could be better. The apple car play system cuts off randomly.

Vehicle is great. Dealer experience is lacking.

I only have a minor complaint about the vehicle which is low bass in most music. The rest is amazing. Interior is stunning and I get constant compliments. Dealing with the Hyundai dealer is miserable however. I can’t wait until Genesis builds out their own dealer network.

Beautiful car with transmission issues

2023 Prestige G70 Vik Black and Red interior. It's a beautiful car and I felt in love with it at first sight. It doesn't launch as hard, but when it gets going it goes very fast. The tires grips great and I feel very confident on corners. The features are great and I love the connected services. The ride is very comfortable. I wish it had full digital gage cluster. Sadly the transmission is bad. After hard acceleration, the car jerks violently and very loudly when the transmission knocks itself into a higher gear. It is a scary experience every time, regardless of whether in ECO or Sport mode. The fuel consumption is worse than EPA rating in city driving. Furthermore it drinks gas on idle. I wish my car's transmission was good. Sadly it's worse than my 2016 Camry, let alone the M340i I test drove. It's a great car to look at, but not so much for spirited driving.

Some easy improvements needed.

There is no digital speedometer, and the analog is difficult to read. The driver's side leg room is tight for this size sedan due to the large center console. Great styling and performance with the larger engine. Spacious trunk for long weekends away. Overall, a fun car to drive.

Bad breaks and infotainment are an accident waiting to happen

Already stayed everything in the review. This is my second G70 which I struggled making a decision for due to my experience with my first G70. Ultimately I took a gamble and chose Genesis based on price. As each day passes, I’m learning to regret that decision.

My Genesis

The overall performance of the car is great however there are something’s I don’t like. But, I believe my choice in this car is okay for me right now. Give the chance to rethink thing I should’ve waited and just got what I really wanted. I settled for this one because of the warranty it provides.

Decent car great overall just not designed for sporty driving

In a week of me having the car the engine belt came out causing the car to overheat and splat coolant all over the engine bay, very disappointing thing to happen to someone who just purchased a car, additionally the same issue happened again which is very outrageous to me. Service guy told me that the pully is a Hyundai pully and can't handle the car's power. FLAT OUT RIDICOULUS. Competitive car with a engine pully that will leave you on the side of any road waiting hours for a tow truck this car is a lemon.

Great Car-Horrible Service

Title says it all-Bought the car for promised service. The very first time THE CAR TOLD ME I needed service, Genesis didn't seem to want to do the promised service. Really? An oil change and a tire rotation? Quoted me months to do this and the receptionist said it wasn't covered I would welcome a call from someone who can tell me what is covered and when I could expect the work to be done. An oil change and tire replacement on a new vehicle 20 minutes

Love the car, hate the dealership that does the maintanence.

I love my G-70 Sport Prestige AWD 3.3 T. The dealership that does the service treats customers like they are doing me a favor by changing my oil. I would go elsewhere if filters were available. I am unlikely to purchase another Genesis due to the dealership.

Fuel efficiency is horrible compared to my Audi or Mercedes. Temperature control in cabin is not user friendly,The handling in the highway is average with the drive assist over powering the steering wheel. I enjoy the auto start, seats are comfortable, cabin is overall comfortable, it’s an average vehicle.

Phenomenal Car; Terrible Service and Warranty

I love this car, however I've had nothing but trouble trying to get some tire problems fixed. Hit a pothole and bent a rim while driving down to a 2-week vacation. Dealership service center was hard to get hold of. Finally got an appointment for the day before we left and they couldn't get the part in time. Tried contacting dealership service center by my home, and after multiple weeks of leaving messages and calling in different times of the day was completely unable to even once talk to someone from Genesis service. During this, hit another pothole which completely blew the tire, and also created a side-wall bubble on another tire (which now also requires replacing). Contacted 3rd dealership service and they looked at it, but this time the Warranty people refused to approve the repair without visual proof, which they have not provided any way for us to do for them. I haven't been able to drive my car normally for over 2 months, and not at all for the last 2 weeks. These are great cars until something breaks.

Incredible disappointed

I really wanted this car and thought I would love it, seemed well reviews and a good change from BMW. Leases a fully equipped 2023 and sadly can't wait to return it. While the test drive was mostly positive in the real world the driving experience (engine and brakes especially) leaves too much to be desired and the good looking interior and exterior and lower quality than expected. Tech and driver aids are abysmal and frankly dangerous. Will, sadly, never buy another Genesis...I really wanted to like these cars because they look great and seem to offer so much for the money.

Don't Expect To Be Treated Like You Matter

Love the car. Purchaed the additional warrant that covers tires and rims. With 350 miles on it had a flat on 8/21/23. Contacted dealership. First appointment? September 12. That's the kind of service you get. So you either wait almost a month or go to a local shop and pay for service that you ALREADY PAID FOR by purchasing the warranty. And this is just a flat tire, who knows how long a real repair will take to get in. And valet service to take me 10 minutes up the road? They laughed. They are far too busy. Genesis, if you're gonna talk the talk, you need to walk the walk. I would not recommend Genesis to anyone.
