Genesis Review

Driver Assist System is a feature that is more of a problem than a safety feature. It should be removed from the vehicle until it's proper operation with the driver can be remedied.

Genesis GV80: Good Car not Great

I have owned a Genesis G80, a Genesis G90 and the current Genesis GV80. The G80 was good, the G90 was exceptional. I was expecting the GV80 to be exceptional, but I find it is only good.

Great vehicle, but one major flaw.

I love my GV 80. However, it came with a curious knocking sound from the tailgate. It has been diagnosed by the dealership and will be fixed. I wouldn’t expect that from a car of this reported quality and expense.

2025 GV80 Review

I AM LEASING THIS VEHICLE FROM BRAND NEW. DON'T KNOW IF THIS VEHICLE WAS QUICKLY MADE OR POORLY MADE. A FEW DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED IT, THE PANEL INSIDE THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH FELL OUT. IT DOES POP RIGHT BACK IN, BUT, IT SHOULD NEVER POP OUT IN THE FIRST PLACE. AFTER 2 YEARS, THE BACK PANEL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT CAME ALOOSE. THIS TOO SNAPPED BACK IN, BUT SHOULD HAVE NEVER CAME APART. APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH LATER, THE DOOR PANEL ON THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR CAME ALOOSE. I AM NOW FREAKING OUT AND THINKING THIS VEHICLE IS FALLING APART. I FINALLY TOOK IT TO A GENESIS DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT A CLIP HAD BROKE INSIDE THE PASSENGER DOOR PANEL AND THAT EVERYTHING WAS FIXED, BUT THERE IS STILL A SMALL GAPPED OPENING ON THE PASSENGER DOOR PANEL WHICH IS ALARMING TO ME BECAUSE THE DOOR CONTAINS AN AIRBAG. I AM LOOKING FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE AND I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER GENESIS. I AM LEASING THIS VEHICLE FROM BRAND NEW. MY LEASE IS UP MAY 2027, BUT I'M TRYING TO GET RID OF IT NOW.

Eye laser detection

The eye detection does not work if you wear certain sunglasses. So it's not stop dinging and you cannot turn it off or silence it. Especially on long trips like I do regularly. It knocks off the cruise control every couple of minutes. Big design flaw. Only applicable to the GV 80 appatently. Otherwise, rides great. The odd sudden hard automatic hard brake also for no reason.

The software is clunky, unnecessarily complicated. The car is too sensitive to too many things due to software. Mechanically great car.

22" rims= harsh ride!! not what I wanted

22" wheels=harsh ride. Not what I wanted. Dealers know-took me on test ride on smaller wheels!! shud be an option-ask who wants a harsh ride for 75K?? (Lol)

Great vehicle

Great vehicle. Love the tech. The interior is just stunning! I get lots of looks from people. On the bad side. Make sure you have a dedicated Genesis dealer near you. The ride is rough with the 22” low profile tires. 3 weeks after my purchase I noticed the sunroof glass was cracked. Genesis would do NOTHING about this. Terrible response from Genesis. My local dealership helped me out.

Too many issues

I began having issues with my Genesis GV80 within 6 months of purchase 1. Turbo oil line leak. The engine had to be removed 2. Multiple screen black outs 3. Fuel line leak recall 4. Engine stop and car turned off at red light
