My Equus

I have always loved this car from the first day. This car is great to drive and comfortable,it has been very dependable.I am sorry it was dropped from your line. The styling of this car is excellent I still get compliments after six years of ownership. I would buy it again.

Something wrong with 2012 Equus electrical (ie starter/wiring/alternator)

Nice looking car but...This vehicle is six years old (thus not new) but only has 20,000 miles. My wife drives a Lexus that is 2006 model and has 85,000 miles and has had less time in the shop and cost less in repairs than this Equus I have yet to change the starter and the alternator on the Lexus. Service at Servco Lexus has been excellent (though basic service at Tony Hyundai also has been very good). BTW - I also drive a 2012 Genesis that also needed a new alternator recently (one week before my problems with the Equus) but it currently has 85,000 miles. Have I just been very unlucky with Hyundai car electrical systems? If it's more than that you should have more spare parts for more timely replacement since this seems to be a recurring condition.

Super dope

My previous car was a 2016 C300 AMG. Other than the sports handling my Equus tops my old Benz in a few different categories. I have all the luxuries of an S550 at half the payment of my C300. DOPE!!! I'm no label whore so give me all the bells whistles and comfort for half the price. I'm mad they are discontinued....

One word awesome, there is no other vehicle that can match.... I have seen the Genesis .... Nop. Dont get me wrong it is a very nice car, but not like my Equus with Luxury. Every chair reclines in my car

Far above what you expect

Years ago, my wife and I saw an equus in the show room and just were in awe over the amenities and interior as well.as the outward expression and classic understated but very strong and elegant lines. We just didn't consider that we would ever be able to buy such a vehicle. Fast forward six years and I was considering a trade . As my Veloster turbo was getting an oil change, I looked around the lot, and I saw a Equus on the lot , it was so beautiful and obviously a well cared for vehicle. The paint was so vibrant and pretty and the interior looked great. Long story short I left with it that day. I left a sporty car for a luxury car. I never thought I would have a car like this! It has surpassed my expectations. It's not just a luxury car, it is well.designed. one of the things I love about it is the adaptive suspension, which you can change to your liking. I can also adjust my ride height be it when I want to drive over rougher terrain or I want to ensure I don't scape my bumper on a parking curb. I also have to say that the engine is so smooth and moves this car much faster than you would expect for a big car. But it doesn't come up short in the brakes department either. About a week after I owned this car i was abrubtly cut off on one of our local roadways. A gentlemen completely ran a stop sign and at the last second I was able to stop this heavyish vehicle. I doubt wether he knew that the engineers at Hyundai had just saved his life , but this car went from 60 to 0 within a very shirt distance. My wife who was in the car at the time said" did our tires even squeel", I said no , and we were both amazed how the car did not nose down under heavy braking. The seat belts snugged up and the car unceremoniously just came to a stop! Period! Amazing and it made.me feel so.safe and confident in this car. I can't even compare this to any other car except a Mercedes that I drove once. But it was much more clunky and bulky and underpowered. Great car Hyundai! In the future I will keep this for several years and when it's time to trade I can't see going for anything else but a Genesis G90 , since they don't make the Equus anymore! Thank you Hyundai!!!

Want an eye-catching car for a reasonable price?

Upgraded to the 2012 Equus from a 2010 Genesis V-6. The Genesis was great but the Equus is a better car all around, even better than the Genesis 4.6 V-8 which a friend of mine has. It's bigger, heavier and size-wise on a par with the Lexus LS460, Audi A8, etc. I found I really like a car with some heft to it, regardless of the gas mileage penalty (I get around 22 mpg with about 75% highway travel. On 100% freeway I've gotten as much as 27mpg). I also like the sport driving mode (which the Genesis didn't have) when I need instant acceleration on grades and freeway on-ramps. Best of all, however, is how great it looks. I've got custom chrome wheels on it, of course installed the flying Pegasus hood ornament, tinted windows, took the Equus badge off the trunk lid, and put about 15 coats of wax on the black paint (with tiny gold flecks in it). Wish I could attach a picture. I get complimentary comments on it all the time, asking if it is a brand-new car. The other day someone in a parking lot asked me if it was some kind of new model Rolls Royce. Not - but thanks for the thought!

2012 Hyundai Equus Signature

Great looking vehicle in terms of styling aesthetics. Turns heads consistently and garners many compliments. Not many people may be aware of the Equus model and is surprised it is made by Hyundai. It is being rebranded now under the G series and still looks great. Rides absolutely fabulous!!!!!!

Best driving car EVER !!!

I have owned Lincoln sport LS, Lincoln Signature Town car. Mercedes Benz SL 500, Corvette, Nissan, Nova!!! The HYUDAI EQUUS is by far the best ride, comfort, ease of controls...did I mention least amount or pretty much non existent problems!! The options, smooth ride and overall total beauty of the car can not be matched. Mine is a 2012 and looks like it just pulled of the factory line!!! Please, please, please bring back. Every time I'm driving it..someone asks me what is it, and how beautiful. I even had a policeman stop me to ask about my car..Now that's the truth. Top drawer and nothing compares to the Equus...bring it back!!

Equus is the nicest car i have ever owned. I will buy more. The change of the name to Gensis is understandable but i liked Equus better. I have previously owned GM products and the is one is much better.

I Love my Equus

I bought my Equus the minute we spotted it at the dealership. My husband had been reading up on it and we purchased the 2012 Equus at the end of 2011. There have been no problems, no breakdowns (just a battery change). I feel that my car is very dependable and I would not trade it for any other car on the market. I feel I will be able to drive it for a long time and there isn't a car I like as well. I still get people stopping me after 6 years and asking about the car, never having seen one before. I would continue to buy Hyundais if the Equus was still being made but the Genesis took over the Equus (bad decision, Hyundai) and I won't have a Genesis. Even if it is just a name change and the car is the same, I don't want to go DOWN in quality as everyone knows the Genesis came beneath the Equus. Sounds snobby, but I don't care, I would rather buy a Lexus or Infinity next time and will, just because of Hyundais poor decision on this production. They certainly didn't ask us owners at the time, nor since.

Outstanding and well pleased

Styling and design of the vehicle is very good. The performance and leg room are a plus. The inside quality and feel is that of a true luxury vehicle. The GPS system needs upgrade work and mirror blind spots can be enhanced.

Hyundai Equus

I had my mind set on the Lexus 400 series. But I saw a picture of the Equus and liked the look of the car. I will admit I was surprised. This car is so comparable to the Lexus. The ride, handling, features are all right up their with the expensive and luxurious Lexus. I used to own a Lexus and loved it but after driving and purchasing this Equus, I would definitely buy another. I have people stop me all the time asking about my car!! Love it!!!

Customer Satisfaction & An Issue

I have enjoyed driving my EQUUS during the past 6 years. The only challenging issue for us during this period was the location of the Parkway Hyundai being too far (over 100 miles) from our home. The Hyundai Dealership in Bakersfield was not authorized to service EQUUS at that time. When the alternator went out, I had to ride the towing truck from Bakersfield to Parkway Hyundai in Valencia and waited for the entire day until it was replaced with a new one. In addition, when I drove the car out from the dealership to the street at 6 p.m. (a few minutes driving), I noticed a red warning sign blinking on the dashboard informing me that the trunk was not locked. (This was not a problem when I brought the car in.) Since I was afraid of driving the car with my trunk not locked for over 100 miles, I went back to the dealership and had to leave my car there for the night until next day. My husband had to drive from Bakersfield to Valencia to pick me up. Arrived at the dealership around 9 p.m. and then it was almost midnight when we returned home in Bakersfield. To make the matter worse, when I called the service department next morning to discuss this issue, the service staff for our car on that day was very rude and he blamed me for causing that trunk problem myself, which was absolutely untrue. Anyway, I let the dealership know about this issue with the service dept. staff that day.

Hyundai Equas

It is an excellent car. It will fly when needed & turn on a dime. Beautiful car & everyone stops to ask me about my car & what kind of car it is. I was saddened to learn you were not selling the Equas in the USA any more, but you replaced it with excellent cars, namely the G80 & G90. I have driven the G80 & it is excellent also. Thanks Hyundai for manufacturing such great cars.

What started as what I thought was a value !

I love the look and feel of my Equus, but I am beyond weary of the suspension issues! My suspension has developed issues twice in an 11 month period with just enough miles so that the warranty doesn’t cover the part!

The best that stands out side the rest

An equus is an automobile that is way under the radar,when driving I’m never tired,it holds the road thru cures,wind,climes mountains ,downhill breaks itself,and people are always asking what kind of car is this! 1 to 5 people’s we all have enough room and with 5 people the dose not stumble,the power is there to get down the road!

Equus a good overall value for luxury

Purchased the car new in 2012 after comparing to other luxury models. While the Equus was not quite up to the level of standards in all respects, compared to others, for the price, it was a great value. Car required a replacement computer, under warranty, at about 40K. Glad I bought the extended warranty as that more than compensated the warranty cost. Other than that the vehicle has been very reliable, runs well on regular gas with occasional treatments of fuel system cleaner additive. Nicest car I've yet owned. Looking at a G90 will be on the agenda when the time comes.

Great car

I purchased a 2012 Equus in December of 2011 and have owned it since then. It is, without a doubt, the best car that I, at age 72, have ever owned. With one exception (failure of front air suspension system due to living in desert and deteriorating rubber), the car has performed flawlessly. In addition , the 2 dealers that I have dealt with (Palm Springs and La Quinta) have both had excellent after sale service. Bottom line: Great car and dealers. What else could you ask for.???
