Thoroughly happy with my Kona
I am enjoying my Kona very much. I purchased the Ultimate trim with AWD, which has all of the bells and whistles, and I am very pleased by the comfort and safety the car provides. My Kona handles very nicely in the city as well as on the highway and I feel that I am driving a little more conscientiously than I did in my previous vehicle, a manual transmission Toyota Matrix XRS.
The Kona is a little tighter in the back seat area, compared to the Matrix, but since I do not have to sit in the back, I am not bothered by that. Trunk space is also slightly smaller than in the Matrix but again, not so small that it would be a problem transporting any of the items that I have to put into the trunk on a regular basis, like groceries or my sports equipment (Floorball sticks and balls).
I am planning to install roof rack cross bars so that I can transport a Christmas tree in December without having to put it into the car since the passenger seat back does not lie flat, like in my Matrix, and I anticipate that trying to transport a tree in the Kona would not only make a big mess but would also be too tight.
The one thing that I wish to have been an option during the purchasing process was to be able to choose to have either the tire mobility kit or a spare tire kit. As it is, the car came with the tire mobility kit, so I will be purchasing the spare tire kit separately.
