Horrid Smell

I love everything about this vehicle except the awful smell of garlic that permeates the inside. It started the week after we purchased and seems to be worse when it’s sunny. So far after two treatments it’s still not fixed. Now waiting for manufacturer to decide what to do. I hear it’s replacing the headrests completely. Apparently the smell is caused by the leather treatment applied to the headrests. Known problem with 2020. Very disappointed that it was not resolved with 2021 models or that known problem wasn’t even mentioned during purchase.

Terrible wind noise on a day with 10 mph wind or higher. Hyundai knows about the problem with this model, but no known fix, Hyundai no longer allow dealers to even try and fix the issue. Do not buy one.

Terrible wind noise. We have had the vehicle back to the dealer three times to try and correct the wind noise. Finally Hyundai corporate said that there I are a lot of complaints about this issue. We tried to return the vehicle and were denied. They said that they would find a fix and call us. That has been nearly twelve months ago. Still no fix. This is our third Hyundai and never had issues before. But it’s our first and last Palasade. I would not recommend this vehicle at any price, let alone $43,000. I most likely will never buy a Hyundai again since this is how they stand behind a vehicle with known problem.

Interior quality does not make up for performance and overall vehicle

Originally thought I would like the vehicle. Didn’t take long to be displeased with the overall vehicle. Safety concerns noted. Would never buy again. Lightning creates darkened area in drivers view making it difficult/impossible to see in front at night, especially during driving down hills or around corners. Sound quality is poor.

Be Careful about current model Calligraphy

Be careful about the current stock of calligraphy. Hyundai went into high production mode on these vehicles. We have oil leaks, car starts stops, way over on fuel consumption. They were great pre COVID but hyundai went after a miney grab and churned these vehicles out. Most likely taking lower badged vehicles and upgrading them. It is sad to see this quality in a vehicle with this kind of price tag

I Got a Lemon

I've had my eye on the car since it was announced, and waited to get it till the hype died down, and knowing that the car had some issues in the first year of production. I drove 2 hours to get a deal on a white Calligraphy and felt that something wasn't right within a couple of days of ownership. I had the car in 3 times for a total of 25 days at the dealership, and undriveable for most of the first two months of ownership. In total they've replaced the driveshaft, rear differential, rear coupling assembly and the transfer case. To add insult to injury the parts took weeks to get and at one point was told it could be as long as a month before I escalated the issue. It is unfortunate as I really like the car now that it works right but can't overlook the quality of the vehicle. I generally keep my cars a long time but my feelings may be soured on this one.

Still a number of concerns

Vehicle fits my needs commendably. Just two or three issues, that are common complaints with the Pallisade. 1, wind noise around the front doors. 2, rear view camera often stays on for several minutes, sporadically when in drive. 3, the stop/start system is actually dangerous. While parkig it may come on suddenly and lurch the car forward. Need to disable permanently.

Very disappointed. Had vehicle less than 30 days and have a water leak in second row that can't be found and full inside of carpet and seats had to be removed. Smells and so sad this happened in a brand new vehicle!

I wish it were built as good as it looks

Interior/exterior styling exceptional. Terrible craftsmanship. Rattles and squeaks throughout. Display screen, indicator lights, climate controls and HUD malfunctioning. I hope these can be fixed.

Noisy and loud

My car is so noisy….you feel every bump and crack in the road, the wind sound is horrid and it whistles, the radio sound is a joke because of the noise…..I had driven a Lexus and a Buick Enclave….I would take either of them back in a heartbeat….expensive car to have so ,UCB noise and the ride is awful! Never again Hyundai!

Horrible nav/radio system - Apple Car play is horrible

Apparently there is a major issue with this vehicle and the system. Apple car play drops / disconnects about 4 times each ride. Screen goes black multiple times a drive. Can't use for directions, drops/disconnects about every 2 minutes. Clock keep changing the time on me. Can't use system to make phone calls. Drops/disconnects calls about every 2 minutes. Geeze my old Honda CRV never gave me any of these issues. I have to call people on speaker and not use the system to not drop calls. A vehicle this expensive should not have these issues. First and last Hyundai purchase.

Attention to many details, but lacking several basic conveniences.

Lacking basic conveniences, such as: overhead sunglasses storage; illuminated dome light switch; capless fuel tank; power folding mirrors; standard tow package on top trim level. Favorite included features (Calligraphy AWD) : Head-up display; smart cruise control; ventilated rear seats.

Not safe.

Several safety concerns seatbelts were defective sensors don’t work when it’s snowing car constantly beeps when there’s snow or ice on the sensor several blemishes on the interior and exterior of the vehicle not very durable cheaply made.

Excessive oil consumption has spoiled our experience with this new vehicle.

This vehicle has many good characteristics, but its oil consumption is completely unacceptable. Oil consumption first Identified ~600 miles, and has continued through current mileage: 13K Will not consider another HMC vehicle unless this Issue is corrected.

Not happy with it

Not happy with it feels like an old suv and smells moldy every time I turn on the ac the front window makes cracking sounds if I go over 40 . I had replace the windshield because the class cracked and I still can hear the cracking sound

I've had to bring my new 2021 back to the dealer for service 5-6 times within a year.imes

I did love my Palisade in the beginning. The navigation system went out 3 times within the first few months before they put in a new one. A piece of the molding fell off the door within the first few months as well which they fixed. During this winter, it quit on my while I was driving twice. It needed a new throttle. I had to drive on the freeway going 70 mph wondering if it will quit again and get rear-ended. Very scary! Had to tow it in to the dealership when I got home. I refused to drive it there not knowing if it would quit again. Two weeks later, my wipers stopped working while I was driving after a snow storm the day before. They said it had snow and ice at the bottom of the windshield which prevented the wipers from working. I live in Minnesota and have never had this happen with any other car. There will always be snow and some ice at the bottom of my windshield in the winter time. I hoping to get a different Palisade since I am working with their headquarters. I just think this one is a lemon as I know it gets great reviews. People are telling me to buy American and are telling me to get rid of this lemon. I need to get my faith and confidence back with this vehicle. Right now I am afraid to drive it.

Terrible experience

My car is a year old, I have taken it to be serviced just about every other month. No one has addressed my issues, or concerns. I feel very irritated with the results from my local Hyundai dealership. I feel like my vehicles has not been service correctly and is now having other issues do to foul Practice on my dealerships end. I bought a brand new car with the intent of keeping it for 5/10 years, but with my issues I’m afraid it will not last that long.

Unhappy

Critical parts malfunction, and advanced features like cruise control and forward collision control only work intermittently. The last two were inexplicably not covered by warranty according to the dealer.

Very disappointed in the finance department. I went in wanting to pay for vehicle in full that day but was told that I couldn’t, and was given dates to make each payment. When I received payment book and called Hyundai, they informed me that this was a tactic at dealerships to ramp up interest charges. I paid off vehicle on that call, but wasn’t given the accrued interest back.

Cheap Material

The look and size of the Palisade is great but the materials used in this model are very cheap. Side moulding broke and practically fell of when my 8 yr old closed the door... he's not a strong kid. I had the Tucson before and never had this issue and the car didn't feel cheap either.

Nice but cheaply made

The windshield is faulty. I have had 2 replacement windshield and i need another one. They need to find a new windshield company. They they have a lot of cheap parts on the vehicle so it breaks real easy. Getting into the service department is real long for any maintenance or oil changes.
