Poor quality and reliability. Great car, with great features BUT.

I really really want to love this car, the driver assistant feature of this car is amazing, the interior looks and feels luxurious and overall the car has great features for a family of 4. BUT..... I don't know if this is a particular case but on our personal experience, the Hyundai Palisade 2020 has been very unreliable as a new car. I have been at lease 6 times with issues at the dealer and the car just have 18k miles. Airbag light on, third row seat totally stoped working with motors broken, WINDOWS WHISTLING NOISE :( multiple times, the rear suspension is making rattling noises. The quality of the car is very poor and it is frustrating when the brand don't know what is happening with their vehicle in cases like the whistling noise.

Headrests smell horrible

Overall the car is nice except the awful, rotten garlic/onion/garbage smell emanating from the headrests. How this got into production and still is an issue in 2021 models is a major failure. I would not recommend the Palisade to anyone (and have steered a few people away) until this production issue is resolved.

Needs Improvement join social media groups to learn more

Many impressive features, still need to work out some engineering details. The exterior color selections are limited and disappointing. Comfortable ride, several expensive problems. It's as though they didn't test the vehicle for consumer family use to work out the kinks first. 1. Like many others experience, a small normal rock chip caused a large crack immediately. This occurred 500 miles after I bought the car and I was on smart cruise control distance from the truck in front of me. It cost $2700 to replace. 2. I had the best most expensive highest rated car seats for my children. They are unable to buckle themselves with the car seats latched in. They are able to buckle if unlatched (unsafe). I bought a new set, and not able to buckle with those either. Finally, I discovered many other people have the same issue and recommended a certain brand/model. I bought those and they work most of the time. One kid still has to scoot the seat before buckling sometimes. The problem is the recessed rigid buckle. It needs to be floppy and movable like other cars. This cost me over $450. 3. Wind noise whistling from drivers's window. Dealership unable to fix. 4. Somehow I was able to lock myself out of the car with my keys and phones with app inside of it. I couldn't use the app because my phones were inside. I waited over 40 minutes outside in 30 degree wet weather for my husband who had to leave work with his set of keys to unlock the car. Good thing I didn't have a baby with me or the situation would have been more dangerous. 4. I use my front passenger seat as a desk for work. My car is my office. The seatbelt alarm goes off for a long time every day unless I have the passenger belt buckled in. 5. I have turned off Auto climate control. However, the fans often are on full blast (loud) when I turn on the vehicle with rear climate activated when I never touched it. I have to reset the climate control multiple times daily. It is automatic but I cannot deactivate it even when the setting indicates it is off automatic. 5. The MPG is the same in all the modes. 6. There is nowhere to store my sunglasses.

Headrests smell awful

Headrests smell like onions, garlic and a dead skunk. Dealership so far has been unable to fix it. No back lighting on door switches, overhead lights or rear mirror. Overall we could live with it if it did not have the awful smelling headrests.

Checks all the boxes except for seat comfort

Just like the title says, this is a great vehicle loaded with lots of options except for Driver's seat comfort. No matter how much the seat is adjusted, it feels hard and uncomfortable after an hour's drive. We bought this car for family road trips. Now I'm not sure we'll be able to use it for that.

I like the ride and size of the Palisade but am highly disappointed that I am having problems pairing the phone to the car. Told by dealer and Hyundai that there is no solution. Too much money for this car to have this problem.

Spent hours trying to correct this problem of the pairing of my phone to the car. I even suggested getting a new phone and the dealer said that would make the problem worse as my phones operating system is more updated than my brand new 2021 Palisade. Very disappointed.

Great Vehicle with Major Wind/Whistling Noise issue

I was so excited when I purchased this vehicle. The features seemed great and the vehicle was pretty well equipped with latest technology. I thought everything was going to turn out great until I started noticing an extremely loud wind/whistling in the cabin within my first week of driving the vehicle. The noise is extremely irritating and enough to make me regret the decision of purchasing this car. For a vehicle I paid $50,000+ I would have expected better from Hyundai, however I was wrong, The second week of driving the vehicle, I started noticing a vibration in the steering wheel between the speeds of 65-70 mph that peaks around 68 mph. It is a slight vibration, however it is enough to tickle my forearms while holding the steering vehicle. I researched online after I noticed these issues and I found numerous of forums that palisade owners have been complaining for years about the same exact issues. I wish Hyundai stopped selling these vehicles until they fixed these issues. I lost my trust in Hyundai.

A Family Hauler with the bells and whistles

The vehicle on the outside appears to be luxurious and spacious. However, the vehicle is loud on the roads and is fitted with cheaper materials inside. A vehicle has a good suite of safety features.

The room and features are awesome!

The car has a smooth ride, awesome features, gas mileage not bad, it's roomy has a great look and also price. Although I've encountered some issues with the steering and exceleration, I'm sure it will be ferfected.

Support for Android Auto is a joke

I love my new 2021 Palisade Calligraphy, but I am compelled to write this review because there support for Android Auto is a joke. The app only uses 5 inches of the available 10.25 inches of the display. I'm stuck trying to navigate with a smaller screen than my 2018 Santa Fe. It's such a big miss and could so easily be corrected with a map update, but Hyundai doesn't seem to care about this. Let's be honest, Hyundai should retire the proprietary maps and instead focus those resources on making sure Apple Carplay and Android Auto work well.

too many bells and whistles, special wheels and tires give terrible ride came with conv package. Manual is too big and differcult to follow. * spped transmission is not necessary, car hesitates when you turn a corner and step on the gas

Does not live up to all the hype

Vehicle quality is lacking and does not live up to the hype. Poor materials. HVAC control displays scratched at delivery. Bare spot in premium headliner above driver’s door at delivery. Control quality in the factory appears to be lacking or non-existent.

Looks good, not a gas sipper

Comfortable to drive but not too good on gas. No sunglasses holder and no dedicaded button for the phone. Navigation does not display traffic information and can not really input address while driving.

Stinky interior but rides/drives nicely

The interior smells terrible and the dealerships attempt to remedy the well known problem was to spray Febreeze - really? Aside from that - the vehicle drives nicely and I enjoy the sound system and all its safety features.

Function Issues

New, top of the line Palisade Calligraphy. Rattles, Leather Stinks, Right rear door window inoperative when new, 2 attempts made to repair rear ventilation fan speed function, engine valve lifter noise, parking brake requires to step on throttle pedal to release - don't like that. Hyundai Customer Service was a joke.

Great car unless you need a trailer hitch

The hitch mounts under the rear bumper while most are integrated thru the bumper. Put my bike rack on the hitch and carried my bike 1 hour. The exhaust is at the level of the hitch and melted parts of the hitch and my expensive carbon bike wheel. If you’re pulling a boat trailer, etc.. its too low. If you need a hitch don’t buy this car.

Have the bells and whistles

Collision alert is sensitive- brakes lock up and someone will rearend me one of these days. Automatic shutoff is annoying. I have trouble seeing with my dimmers on, and cars coming at me hate my dimmers apparently they are bright- so in turn I get ‘brighter’ a lot.

Just a normal suv, but services are blower than others

A new car, but not really have any benefits as a new when the car is in serviced. Owner pays some money for every visit of regular service, even though the 3 years complimentary services are provided as they sold a new car.

The dealership where we purchased was terrible. The car is nice. It has a couple of terrible design issues but other wise ok. I hate how esasily it soils on inside seats and walls. The reflective silver piece off projector is horribly distracting and has millage could be better

Beautiful car - has problems that Need to be addressed

The car itself is stunning. But ours has been plagued with issues . 1) drivers mirror appears to be melting in areas 2) rear spoiler same issues as mirror 3) rear hatch has 2 indentations in it . 4) rear bumper has mark under paint that looks like a fingerprint. 5) trim on back right window loose and coming off. 6) engine noise - when starting from a stop - it sounds like a lifter coming bad. 7) headlights - people flash their lights at us as if our high beams are on - when they are not. The dealer has been great - 5 stars in my book , but they have ordered parts still waiting for them . when parts get here they all have to be painted . Not what I would expect for a top of the line car . This is our 8th Hyundai never had issues like this before , very disappointed.
