Very disapointed in acceleration. Leaves you at a stop and won’t GO when accerator is pressed. Scary; afraid of being hit by oncoming car and enduring “honking” vehicles because you can’t move. Bought the 2.0 T to be able to get the extra boost in power when necessary. Dealer can’t diagnose because problem was not happening during test drive. Said I needed to “stop by” when it was “happening”!!

Try as I may, I can not get the seat adjusted the way I like it. It's too high in front. And, the seat could be a little wider - you would think with all the room in the front they could make the sat wider

When the lights are on and not on automatic there should be a sound to turn off the lights. Wind sound from driver window while it is up. Gas range is good. .........................................

Alarm and radio
The radio turns on and off by itself and this is a new car . Reading the reviews online buttressed my point that other customers are having a similar problem . My alarm does not sound when doors are locked .

Gas hog
The car is a comfortable ride. It is a gas guzzler likely due to being AWD. I was a jeep owner previously and it hugged the road like it owned it. The Santa fe is a bit more roomy. I prefer the way a jeep handles compared to the Santa fe .

All good except the rear seat
Pros
I like this car. It has many features that are very useful. It has a clean modern look. The interiors are designed well.
What I like most are the controls and features.
Cons
Since within the first few months of purchase, my car rear seat has been making squeaking sounds as if it is a 20 year old car. This is very irritating. After 2 service visits, I am still visiting the dealership to get it fixed. This makes me question the quality of material used and the workmanship. There is nothing new in rear car seats. All cars have rear car seats since ages.I don't believe its rocket science to fix it.
Otherwise I find this car very comfortable and easy to drive.

Uses a lot of gas (could be due to transmission issues)
My Santa Fe uses a lot of gas for a 4 Cylinder. I think its cause I have to press the gas to the floor almost all the time to get it to go over 40 from a stop. Took it in to get the computer reset, the car drove great for about 3 days then back to the same old issue. The driver seat doesn't go back far enough I am 6'1" and don't have enough leg room to be comfortable when driving long distances my leg. This was bought right off the Show room floor with 9 miles. I started thinking I should have kept my Sonata.

my opinion
Suspension is ok. First two gears make driving rough. Car doesn't know what gear it should be in when driving around 20mph. Entered my comments in the con response box. One other I've noticed is that I feel the airstream passing over the car more than in my last vehicle.

I was happy with my Santa Fe until your service department told me I needed an alignment with only 9800 miles on it and owning it for 15 months! I owned Fords and Toyota’s for years and they never need an alignment!! Very disappointing!

Vehicle review
Ride could be improved as could gas mileage. When fan is on high it sounds like a wind tunnel inside the vehicle. Emergency "Key" frequently comes out of ignition fob. Overall impression of the vehicle is OK but I don't think I'll buy another or keep this vehicle more than a year or two.

Disappointed in Service
I like my car, but I can't seem to get a resolution with my BlueLink issues even though I have contacted them and Hyundai dealership. They both keep saying it's the other ones problem. Someone needs to take accountability.

Have purchased NEW from Palmer's a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and also NEW from Palmer's a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport.
The 2018 is not near the quality vehicle that we found with the 2015 model. Thank You

My 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport
I've never liked the seats in the 2018, the engine makes more engine noise than our 2015 Sport, currently awaiting parts to repair the cruise control (something about braking). Will probably trade soon and purchase the new 2019 Subaru Ascent Touring.

great car but I hate two things
this is my second Santa Fe. The 2014 had a 6 cylinder and I just loved everything about that car. I figured the 2018 Santa Fe with a 4 cyl turbo would be similar. I don't know what has changed but there is a definite, noticeable lag between when I push the throttle and the engine responds - annoying but not dangerous. The bigger issue to me is the the traction control. When it is activated, it kills power to the engine. This occurs even if the one wheel slips only a minute amount. The scariest time was when I was trying to turn across traffic on slick roads - there I was halfway into the lane when the traction control engaged. The car lost all power. I panicked and pushed the gas pedal to the floor but nothing happened. I was seconds away from being T-boned. I quickly let up on the gas and tried again. the traction control disengaged and was able to accelerate through the intersection. SCARY! I now drive with the traction control turned off. I won't buy another Hyundai unless the traction control is changed.

Disappointed
It is sold as having many high tech features but the functionality is disappointing. I truly believe that many of these things can be upgraded with a firmware upgrade but after trying to communicate with Hyundai I am left with the impression that they are not interested.

Looks great, performs well, small features...not so much
We like it overall, however, having it for over a year now, there are some subtleties we don' t like: on the passenger side, the arm rest doesn't have room to rest your arm, the windshield wiper from the driver side throws water onto the passenger side obscuring the view, there is about 25% of the top right corner of the passenger side that is left untouched, therefore obscured. LED lights are great, but the V blind spot in the middle of the lights at night leaves a bad dark spot that we once almost hit a pedestrian crossing as we turned as he was right in that middle blind spot. Yes, he was not supposed to cross at the time and was wearing black clothing, but it pointed out how bad the blind spot is and we are very cautious when turning now. The ride seems a little harder that we expected. More like a pickup than a car. Some of the fantastic options like Lane Assist, Auto Hold during stops, Brake Assist, Cross Traffic Assist and Blind Spot Assist are really, really great! HOWEVER, you can only get them through option PACKAGES that include things you may not want. I know we didn't want some of them, but had to get them to get the safety features we DID want. Not cool.
