Pleased so far
I had ridden in a friend's Santa Fe several years ago and was impressed primarily with the cameras, display and blindspot detection system it had. Because he has a bad back, he said it was the only vehicle that offered such a multi-position driver seat that could relieve his pain. After my wife had neck surgery, she was limited to how far she can turn her head to check blind spots before changing lanes. I called my friend, now some years later, and asked him if he still had the car and what his opinion of it was. He said after 93K miles the car still runs and operates like it did when he bought it and so far is the best car he's ever owned.
From that endorsement, I began talking to not only Santa Fe owners, but Hyundai owners in general, and every one of them spoke highly of the brand with no disatisfaction about anything. When I researched crossovers online I was surprised that this model wasn't rated higher by the various "value raters". But I believe their ratings were primarily based on best buy for the buck. However if you consider the options packages available for other brands standard models, the out-the-door price can escalate pretty high. I had seriously considered other popular crossovers but due to Hyundai's reputation, I felt totally comfortable giving this model and brand a try. Up til now I have consistently sworn by Toyotas. For me to try any other brand is a bit of a surprise to me but I felt confident in trying Hyundai after so many people spoke so highly of theirs.
