OK, I’ve been taking my cars to Uptown Auto for a few years now and I keep coming away impressed

he cars are nothing special, a Subaru, Legacy, and a couple Subaru Outback wagons. What makes an important to me is that they carry around the most important person in the world to me as well as my dog and I don’t trust those to anybody but somebody I trust.
My current outback has 147,000 miles on it and some of those miles have not been gentle. In fact, most of them since I got it have not been gentle.
So when it started making noise like a grinding when I turned the car, I was convinced that I had a bad axle or CV joint. That can get spendy really fast.
I dropped the car off on Thursday last week and fully expected that Uptown would have it through the weekend and then I would be buying a pricey piece of drivetrain
I got a text from Naram (the owner) a couple hours later telling me that they had poked it every single piece of the front drive train and nothing stood out as a problem. My rear brakes needed work so he replaced those for me at my request and also took care of a quick oil change and a couple other small maintenance items
I called him to talk about the negative diagnosis and his suggestion was that I did have a little bit aware on the front brakes and the way the wear was taking place, under a specific circumstances it could create the noise that I was hearing
We talked about it for 10 minutes, I was quite convinced that something had to be broken and he reassured me that I did not have anything that needed replacement.
I picked the car up the next morning and was stunned at how little it cost
We all have a favorite mechanic or at least we should. These guys are mine. I’m treated more than fairly, the work is always done very competently and quickly and I have never had a reason to quibble about the cost.
If you need auto repair done quickly, competently, and very reasonably and enjoy working with folks that are not only all of the above, but also very very nice and very thorough and are happy to take the time to explain what needs done, why and what the outcome will be, you should make your way over to Uptown auto repair
They do not have loaner vehicles so take that into consideration but I really don’t see a reason to take my cars elsewhere.

Was a “walk-in” to Dealership frustrated that my 2022 Kona N had just experienced an unexpected dead
battery; Scott (Service Manager) patiently addressed the challenge with an immediate service check of the battery & alternator giving my wife & I the peace of mind all was working fine with the car and to make sure we don’t turn the car engine off for the night with its aux power still on by pushing the push-button twice.& ignoring the cars warning chime; simple solution; TY Again Scott ?
