Very disappointing, multiple issues cannot seem to be resolved by dealership.

We were told when we bought that we'd have valet service, even tho we are more than 50 miles away. There are no genesis dealers within 3 hours of our home. Have had an ongoing issue with navigation, freezes, since we bought 2 yr. ago. Have had it back 3 times, still not fixed. Now the voice command does not work. Lousy service has made me very negative towards your product.

Great car Shitty Service

Service is the name of the game and your dealers in Houston are subpar at best. A better service plan execution. A better service department could sell a product better than the product itself. Hyundai and Genesis have missed the mark completely. Especially Baytown Hyundai.

Car broke down with 741 miles on it while driving on the highway.

I have had this car for less than one month and it has been in the dealership twice for repairs. It shipped with a problem where the spare tire well was filling with water and was at the dealership for 2 days and needed to have a the trunk gasket replaced. I only found out about the issue when i looked for the locking nut key. Thank god I did or there might have been an even bigger issue. the water was only in the spare tire well the carpet did not get wet so if I hadn't looked who knows how long that would have gone on for. My biggest issue is that the car died on the highway at 75mph. Thankfully I did not get into an accident. the car was at the dealership for 7 days (5 business days). In the end the dealership found out that it was the fuel pump control module and replaced it. I have driven 50 miles so far so good. During this the dealership was good to deal with the issue is that when I talked to some one from Hyundai (genesis) they really didn't seem to care. The tow company that they sent damaged the plastic cover on the shit lock in the car. I asked if it could be repaired and was told that I would need to pay for it. Seriously it is a small piece of plastic that couldn't cost more than $5. I was told that I might need to buy the whole assembly for over $100 and pay for the labor and try to get the tow company to cover it. Well I don't even know who the tow company is because it is genesis that sent them out in the first place. This is supposed to be a luxury brand right where is the customer service and care? I traded in a perfectly good 2015 genesis with no issues and now I have a car that has been in the repair shop twice and broke down on the highway with less than 750 miles on it. This car is a value if it doesn't break down in the first month. PS if you are going to market a car as a sport model put a sport exhaust on it like the other luxury brands do. If you need an example just go listen to a BMW M3.

Disappointing selection

This car is the worse driving car I've ever owned and I've owned quite a few new cars in my life time. The ride is hard and uneven, the wind noise is very noticeable, the front doors don't close without slaming. I'm not sure if I picked a lemon, because it did already have 60 miles when I bought it or just a bad luck selection. The reviews I've read are always good, but my experience and drive aren't impressive at all.

2019 Genesis G80

This is a nice car but it has some problems that need to be corrected. 1) The engine vibrates at idle speed in drive with the AC on and the vehicle stopped. The AC compressor was changed but the problem still persists. 2) The drivers seat is uncomfortable after 20 minutes of sitting. The side bolsters are too high and stiff. 3) The engine is very noisy at startup and doesn't quiet down until the car has been driven for several miles. 4) The car whistles at highway speeds on cement roads. The dealership was not able to find the source of the noise.

Genesis Customer Service

The vehicle is average. The dealership is below average. The Genesis customer service is close to noon existent and borders on complacently. I can no longer recommend the vehicle to anyone. Once you buy or lease, them you find out how bad customer service is when you need it, you're already locked in. That's why I will never purchase another Genesis or Hyundai product

Too many service visits

Genesis G80 3.8

Even though I drove this car near the dealership, I wish the ride was much smoother on roads I regularly drive in Phoenix and Glendale AZ. Disappointed! Remote start slow and troublesome(intermittently shuts off after less than 10 minutes when opening doors to load passengers. Bluetooth disconnects when Iphone is connected via USB. Concerned that when I get hearing aids they won't connect to bluetooth so I can't have simultaneous benefits of Apple Car Play and benefits of bluetooth for hearing aids. Vibrating G80

I looked at Genesis for 3 years and finally took the leap. My G80 is a beautiful car to look at and turns heads as I drive. The style and amenities are on point. That being said, The periodic vibration in the center of the car at various speeds has soured my overall opinion of the Genesis product line. My car has been in the shop numerous times for the same issue and I'm now being told told its a programming bug in the transmission but no timeline to repair

I am about to open a dispute involving your customer service. I have purchased 3 Genesis and 8 Sonatas over the past ten years and have told countless people of the quality of your vehicles. I will no longer be recommending your products primarily because of your customer service. Your appalling lack of customer service had wounded me very deeply after the loyalty I have s shown to your company and products. You have lost a vei good customer.

OVERALL REVIEW 2019 Genesis G80

Was a bit disappointed in this model, as the 2016 version was better made and got more for the dollar. Wind noise was another problem Window moldings were a very cheap material. Was not treated very well at the dealership, and I do not plan to visit the dealership IF I decide to visit Genesis again for my next lease/purchase!

Genesis is great car.

Genesis is a great car. This is my 2nd new purchase of a Genesis or Hyundai Genesis from this dealership. We enjoy the Genesis G80 and most likely will purchase another Genesis. I would like some improvement in door opening ingress, egress. It's not easy for older folks. The front view is blocked by the roof posts. Hard to spot other cars to the right and left. The drivers seat moves side to side more than I would expect. When I turn a corner, the seat slides sideways right or left. It feels like 1/8 or 1/4 inch. The seat is comfortable but that looseness is distracting.

There’s nothing to say about this but it served me as well as it was designed for nothing special compared to the equestrian I turned in the comfort and value for what I paid for it was nothing special given what I know now I wouldn’t have bought this one.

Nice vehicle, BUT....

Nice vehicle, but TERRIBLE fuel economy. Because of COVID, 2 year old vehicle has only 13,200 miles. No major mechanical issues. Has required only routine maintenance and recall issue repair. Purchase experience left something to be desired, but good service at dealership.

Leased a new G80 with the Sport package end of April. Car is loaded with safety features and has a bit more sporty appearance than base G80. Have received a number of compliments on the look....and the sporty looking wheels with the bronze accent rings. When sport mode is on it definitely improves acceleration and handling.

I just purchased the 2019 Genesis G80 and this is my 4th car with the Hyundai/Genesis brand. I would consider myself the walking advertisement for Genesis. The only thing that I am disappointed in, is that the model that I have did not have a CD player. This is the Best car for the style, price, and economics of comparable cars.

Don't Overlook The Genesis G80 Sport

The car looks great and the price is reasonable for the value it delivers. It is quick to accelerate and just as fast to stop with excellent braking. Handling characteristics are not its finer point and could be improved, but adequate for a large car. Legroom in the back seats is good and they are comfortable. The heads up display is very convenient as well as a number of other luxury features. The G80 can definitely hold its own when compared to the competition.

2019 G80 Sport 3.3T AWD

It’s an quality sedan, which is becoming far more difficult to find, during the SUV craze. The comfort, power & warranty are all top notch. The Alcantara Headliner draws a lot of praise. The 360 camera is beyond helpful. I wish that the air conditioned seats worked better. The concierge service was a big selling point for me personally.
