Great SUV except sunroof noise

Great design, beautiful interior! The only complaint is the very obnoxious wind noise from sunroof. This should of been caught before releasing to production. I am also very disappointed that Glenbrook Hyundai charges me $4000 of MSRP. We have purchased 3 Hyundai/ Genisis from this dealer in the last 15 months. The market availability surcharge will be remembered on future car purchases.

some annoyances: -auto stop/start very rough. have to disable it every time car is started. -small noises in the cabin. likely thermal expansion of certain components in the dashboard. -sometimes infotainment slow to start. likely trying to hookup to bluetooth which can be slow -no wireless android-auto/carplay. big omission considering other wise tech heavy car. -ride is relatively rough. feel road imperfections. tire inflation is key. if high pressure due to hot weather, it appears more rough. -rear exterior design black plastic appears out-of-place/cheap relative to other components.

The vehicle looks beautiful and drives very nicely. I am disappointed with the finish on the vehicles exterior window trim as it is badly spotted and fading. I had this same problem on my new G80. I am also disappointed that the limited slip differential communication module is now defective in the vehicle and it has happened within the first year of ownership with only 3750 miles on it. Another nuisance is that the radio/tuner will freeze periodically on any given station and cannot be changed until the vehicle is turned off and then turned back on. Many times it is still frozen after turning the vehicle back on and the only way to get it to reset is to leave the vehicle off for several minutes before trying it again.

After one year with the GV70, my feelings are mixed. While I like the styling and comfort I can't say that I am in love with this vehicle. The fuel economy is a little on the low side for this size of vehicle and the brakes are sensitive resulting in excessive braking when only a light touch is required. What vehicle would I replace it with? Well having owned Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, and Lexus during the past several years I would probably go to my fallback position of an MB.

The car is beautifully designed don’t get me wrong, my only thing is that after some time some of the parts start to come off on their own. With me it happened immediately with the little mudguards that it came with they’re not there anymore and I don’t know how that even happened.

Love my car!

Even though there has been a few little glitches I still love my car. It's beautiful and it drives so nice. And we constantly get stopped by people asking what kind of car it is and how stunning it is. We have had the "service engine" light come on a few times and have had some difficulty with the dealership getting a resolution but it's not something that is urgent. Other than that we have loved our car!

My GV70

Beautiful vehicle. Love the color combinations. Unbelievable performance with its 3.5 twin turbo. Gas mileage could be better. Ride quality is very nice. We have had issues with the metal trims around the windows. Dealer tried buffering it and damaged the paint. This could have been avoided if trim was originally replaced. The exhaust sound is very quiet instead of being a little rumbling based on the 3.5 engine. Overall, good vehicle for the money even with those issues.

Nice car

This is my first Korean car. When I saw it, I knew it was mine! The appearance is very beautiful and the interior is perfect, which subverts my impression of Korean cars. I think I will buy another one! I never knew there was this brand. I accidentally saw it in the parking lot. It's different. I like this car very much

Will the Valet service really be available for you?

Its a great car but they hype up the valet services and paint a picture of you never being inconvenienced by having to take your car to the dealership. My experience has been very different. If you car is close to needing service you will be declined an appointment until it actually needs service. Once it actually needs service you will be offered a valet pickup 6-8 weeks in the future. Can you afford to wait that long when the car needs service? If you can, great.

Chrome trim is fading and peeling

Chrome trim around doors and windows is peeling and fading. This phenomenon started happening within one month of purchase. Hopefully warranty will take care of this, but the dealer has not gotten back to me. Otherwise the GV70 is a great vehicle overall.

This car has so much potential, but it just seems to miss the mark. Gas mileage it needs at least 10-15 more miles to the gallon. Seats need more padding. When I reach 80 miles per hour the seats hug you? Why do I have to go 10 to 25 miles above the speed limit for this to happen?

Overall great comfort and driving, but quite a few minor annoyances having to do w/ electronics/media

Looks great, drives well, very comfy, but Android Auto is not wireless and buggy, collision/parking sensors and cruise control can be annoying in its disruptiveness and nannying. Door doesn't always recognize the presence of the key, and it is VERY difficult to reach the dealership or Genesis for problems. If everything works, this is as good as the German brands, but when things don't work, it gets really annoying.

Not perfect, but a very nice vehicle. It is solid, built well and safe. Stereo could be better, driving range needs to improve as well as fuel efficiency. It is stylish, comfortable and easy to drive. It is roomy, has overall nice features, and is fairly priced. Decent value.

Beautiful and sporty

It’s a beautiful car. I belong to a group on Facebook for GV 70‘s. I cannot tell you how many problems people are having with their vehicles it’s just unbelievable. I’m thankful that mine is just up problem with the backseat. I paid a lot of money for this car to have that quality. Genesis should be reaching out to the consumers to fix all problems. In my case the dealership is trying to fix the problem. My problem is coming from Genesis.

Overall I like the vehicle. I think the Service departments should do a better job both in dealing with the customer, as well as delivering the requests made by the customer. Customer Service is a bit lacking at Genesis of Naples. The Lane Keep Assist in my vehicle was brought to the dealer on 3 different occasions, but the vehicle still does not track correctly. It ping-pongs within the lane. Also the Navigation system is lacking augmented reality, which was listed as an option. Not available.

Car looks and rides great. Headliner noise near grab handle is concerning. No loaner cars available. This is my second Genesis and while I love the car the service experience is not on level with what I expect with a luxury car. Parts take a while too. A windshield took a month and a differential motor took a few weeks.

Something special

My initial experience was not good. The service department where I bought the car was the pits. I got the runaround, phone calls not answered or returned. I went back to Nissan to trade my Genesis in. After I left the Nissan dealership, I sat in my car and decided I liked the looks and features of the Genesis and called customer service. They found a dealership near me, scheduled an appointment and the noisy suspension and loud wind noise were repaired. The car has been fabulous and a joy to drive. No regrets now.
