Genesis GV70

This is a great car. The styling is magnificent and the ride quality is supreme. Overall we've had a great time driving this for the past year we've had it. Having said that, there is still work to be done by the brand in the Customer Service side of things. Especially when it comes to service and maintenance appointments. It is very difficult to get appointments and there is very little flexibility even when you get one.

My GV70

I love my GV70 for many reasons including its appearance, driving experience and hopeful maintenance affordability. I am disappointed that the engine is already knocking a bit, that the metallic trim is flaking and that the promised valet service is non-existent.

My Girl

I love the Genesis brand and the quality of their vehicles seems to be very good, this is my second Genesis and Genesis is my vehicle of choice. I think Genesis is going to be one of the top brands that consumers purchase and all I see is them continuing to get better

Above the rest

When I say I researched before buying this car, I mean I RESEARCHED before buying this car. Whether it was a Jaguar, Ford, Cadillac, Mercedes, or BMW (in the same price range~$60k), the specs of this car rose above others. This car is an absolute thrill to drive and even after a year, I still get double takes driving around!

Overall its a good vehicle, i just think the tire size should be a little wider, the braking system especially calipers and pads should have more braking power and the exhaust must sound better. If this vehicle truly wants to outshine its competition, these simple upgrades can make a big difference.

AMAZING car, terrible dealership network

Love EVERYTHING about the car (except for lacking wireless Android Auto) but if you ever need to get your car serviced? - Prepare for a 2 months wait and dealing with incompetent service people. I've had it all: from no-show valet appointments, hour long wait time on the phone to an engine replacement BECAUSE of incompetent mechanic who changed the oil during first maintenance appointment. With all that in mind, I'm still rating my Genesis as 4 stars which tells you how much I like the actual car.

A Good Bye

I love this car but dealerships are not great. They are unreliable. Not all of them. You really have to search for a good one. Genesis is selling a luxury car but you aren't getting luxury treatment . Also after a year there are a bit more squeaks and rattles than I would like.

Love the Car

The car so far is excellant. The problem with the transaxle THREE TIMES REPLACED was trying because of good parts and availability being iimited. The dealership that had to deal with the problems was not the dealership we purchased the car from so there was confusion plus no loaners available at first for the time the dealership needed the car to fix the problem. That soured our Genesis experience. We do love the car and wouldn't hesitate to purchase again and have recommended it to many people.

GV70 2022 Review

After 4000 miles it now has a rattle that vibrates with the engine RPM. Coming from under the driver’s seat. Everyhing else about the SUV has exceeded expectations. Fit and finish, performance even at the non-sport driving settings are exceptional.

Great

The gv70 is a excellent mid SUV .. my only problem I had was when it ask for you to update the system the navigation and voice was giving problems like not recognizing my voice commands and taking a while to find poi address after I press update.

Love it but...

I've had issues with it already. I'm hoping the bugs get worked out and it becomes the best car I've ever purchased. I've been Hyundai owner for well over 20 years and I stand by the brand. I fell in love with the GV70 and decided to give it a try. Hoping I made the right decision.

This very is attention grabber, and looks good. That’s what made me purchase it but it can be more than it is now. I love the vehicle, my only problem is it’s not quiet inside. I love the safety features of the car. I wish it was a little bit more spacious.

I ENJOY THE DESIGN OF BOTH INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR AND THE PERFORMANCE IS EXCELLENT. THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS ARE NOT WELL BUILT AS NUMEROUS GLITCHES INTERMITTENTLY KEEP POPPING UP. GENESIS DEALERS HOULD BE REQUIRED TO HAVE SEPARATE GENESIS SERVICE AREAS FROM OTHER BRANDS AND LOANER CARS SHOULD BE STANDARD. I HAD AN ACURA FOR THE LAST 12 YEARS AND HAD EXCELLENT SERVICE. THEY UNDERTSOOD THE “LUXURY” NATURE OF THE BRAND OVER HONDA BUT GENESIS DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THAT. HYUNDAI OUGHT TO BE SEPARATE. SERVICE AND SALES. GENESIS VEHICLES COST SUBSTANTIALLY MORE AND THAT SHOUD BE REFLECTED IN THE EXPERIENCE. THE MOST LIKELY REASON I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER GENESIS IS THE LOCAL DEALER AND I AM NOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO ANOTHER DEALER TO HAVE AN OPTION.

Love the car, poor dealer experience

Having owned luxury cars for years, I find the dealer experience terrible. The sales person knew nothing about the car . Nobody went over the operating function of the car and the finance manager raised the price in the paperwork. I have always had a better experience at Lexus and Mercedes.

Excellent vehicle, however all dealers are charging over msrp

The vehicle is everything I hoped it would be. Comfortable and allot of features. My only negative is all the local dealerships sell for over the msrp. I would never recommend anyone to pay over msrp for a vehicle. I believe this practice hurts the brand.

It’s ok

Not a big fan, gas mileage is awful. All the alerts are annoying. Phone navigation doesn’t work. Just not my favorite car especially for the money. At the dealership I signed for one price and am being charged another. Automatic windshield wipers are awful.

Looks Great but…

My GV70 is definitely a head turner, but there are shortcomings that I hope is fixed soon. I have less than 3K miles and the fuel economy is 20 mpg with 40 -45 miles driven mostly highway. The engine idles high. There is a weird hesitation when accelerating and the braking isn’t good. The navigation audio is extremely low and can’t be heard over the radio/media. The fingerprint reader doesn’t work for Apple iPhone users, the Bluetooth is hit or miss, and wired CarPlay is also hit or miss. The seats are comfy but are too firm for my tastes. The cargo space is adequate, and the backseat is spacious for average size people. This is the first year model so I expect more improvements in subsequent years. They got most things right.

GV70 with Poor Transmission

The GV70 has a poor shifting transmission. Also, upon start-up I need to push multiple buttons just to begin driving. For example, I need to disable the auto stop-start, confirm the display, select media/radio (because the system defaults to the home screen every time). This is so irritating. I would recommend buying a different car.
