Poor customer service

My car had an oil change 2 weeks ago. Coolant cap was not properly closed and it lost coolant. I had an important business trip 150 miles away. Unaware of the issue my engine showed to be overheating. I called Genesis immediately and they like nothing wrong was done on their side. They told me to call roadside assistance and to not drive my car. Hard to do when you are not close to home and have important business meeting. The Genesis app wanted to tow my car to another state. I asked hospitality manager to assist me getting a car and/or finding a way to get my car towed to their dealer. She was not willing to assist. I found a Hyundai dealer 3 miles away and asked if she would contact them and she would not reach out to them. Luckily the Hyundai dealership exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond to help me. I later found out the owner of Genesis also owns the Hyundai dealership I visited. The hospitality manager could have contacted them and tried to find a solution. I was able to drive my car back to Genesis since the Hyundai dealer confirmed the issue was the cap not being properly closed and coolant ran out. Hospitality manager never checked on me. I called back to let her know I was able to head back and needed a loaner so they could double check my car. She asked that I sign the paperwork and provide DL/insurance while I was driving. The loaner car smelled like smoke and I was told to fill it back up with gas when I returned it. No one from Genesis followed up to let me know they had looked at my car. I reached out in the middle of the day for an update. My car was fine since Hyundai resolved the issue. I had to drive back to Genesis to get my car. No one offered to bring my car back to me. Absolutely no customer care or support. I had to go out of my way to resolve an issue that was created by the oil service which made the problem 10x worse. Now I am trying thinking of trading in my car for a more reputable dealer that provides more support.

Perfect, Almost!

It’s the little things, like interior storage is minimal for a big vehicle. Instrument Panel is beautiful, but shows fingerprints easily. Engine is unbelievable, vary fast off the line , minimal turbo lag, if any! Maybe due to twin Turbos?

I love my GV80!

I have been very happy with my GV80. It’s luxurious but so very useful in the Woods where I live. It has been through deep snow, mud, across fields and served every purpose I’ve asked of it. Fantastic vehicle!

Dealerships are the major drawback. Genesis isn’t open on Saturday but hey take it to a Hyundai dealer….not what I paid extra for! I didn’t take my Lexus to a Toyota dealer.

Overall Car

Nice car. Some features are missing that should be in a luxury car. The seat saver for the passenger is temperamental. I am not a fan of using the high-octane gasoline. Much more expensive that other luxury cars I have owned. Had trouble with the car for about 5 weeks which was a hassle. It is better now. It is also a little small for a 3rd row seat luxury vehicle.

Luxury, awesome technology and unmatched ride.

After driving a Range Rover Long Body for many years that I loved, I made the move to Genesis and have not looked back. The GV 80 has an extremely smooth ride, great acceleration, and unbelievable safety and technology. I’m always getting compliments on the design.
