Fueled up and trip-ready

We took a long (4000) road trip last fall (2019), Through sunshine, rain, heavy and light traffic we fared well, given the high economy, safety features, navigation, parking, and trunk space. We look forward to shorter excursions this summer as those become possible. We're very satisfied with the Ioniq.

Dream Car

I've been a Toyota owner for a long time. My only experience with Hyundai had been that my son and my son-in-law had both owned one. I was impressed with the quality of their vehicles. So at the end of last year I was ready to trade my Camry hybrid and after checking out what Toyota had to offer headed to my local Hyundai dealer. I saw this red Ioniq and fell in love. They gave me a great deal on my trade and after 6 months of ownership I can honestly say I've never enjoyed driving a car as much as I have the Ioniq. The hatchback is perfect for the occasional trip to the home improvement store for top soil or lumber. The interior has a quiet sophistication that is suitable fo date night. The ride is very smooth especially for a small car. And who can argue with 50+ miles to the gallon?

Love my ionic

Great car. Love how it handles. Love mileage car gets per tank of gas. Advantage Hyundai in Hicksville MY has been great to work with. Filling out such an extensive review like this takes too long. Requiring a minimum of 200 characters annoying

Incredible vehicle for the price range with superb fuel economy.

I have owned my 2019 Hyundai ionic for a little over a year now and have put 18,000 miles on it of daily mixed driving. I found it to be smooth and enjoyable drive and have been getting between 56 and 59 miles to the gallon. For a small 1.6 L gasoline engine and electric motor with a combined 139 hp the vehicle has surprisingly quick acceleration when you need it.

Outstanding Vehicle

Travel 100 miles five days a week. Average around 54 miles per gallon. True value and great performance. Approaching 35,000 miles in my first year. Very pleased, very, very pleased. Would highly recommend this model and dealership service center.

Love My Ioniq. Anyone looking for an economic vehicle to drivew that is also a lot of fun should seriously consider the Hyundai Ioniq! You will not regret your choice!

This is the greatest little vehicle I have ever had. I love it, the style, the color and especilly the gas mileage! Cannot lose on this one! From dependability, to handling, to parking, and just plain general use on a daily basis, I have never regretted leasing the Ioniq!

Great Fuel Efficiency for a Hybrid/Economy Car

I have had this car for a year and it maintains a 55-60 MPG average, only dipping to about 45-50 in the coldest months of Michigan winter with mainly highway driving. This car is a super economy car and I love the mileage I get from it as well as the major storage space with the hatchback. Value for the money is on point, especially if you get the blue trim.

Great car with great mileage

I had a 2010 Prius that I liked a lot but I did not like their new styling. I went with the Hyundai Ioniq and I am very happy with my decision. I consistently get gas mileage in the high 40s if not low 50s. The car is comfortable and seems very well made. I have had it a year now and while I have not had to drive it as much due to the current situation I have had no issues with it at all. I got mine in dark blue and find it quite stylish.

Bang for the Buck

Overall this car has gotten excellent gas mileage, which was the primary intent of our purchase. Plus it had features such as dual zone climate control and CarPlay that the leading competitor in the hybrid segment did not have. And at a far more attractive price than the product that rhymes with Cryus. More up-to-date features at a significantly lower price. This offset the minor differences in refinement between the two. It's not a speed demon. But it's not meant to be. It's a hybrid where fuel economy is the name of the game.

Great car

Great fuel economy, spacious and well built. Great handling vehicle, controls are very user friendly. The only thing is a little too much road noise , but no regrets of my purchase as this was my first hybrid type of vehicle and not having to plug it in is a bonus to me

Ioniq Blue

Best fuel economy we have ever experienced. One concern is that when we haul our bicycles on the rear hitch mounted rack, the mileage goes down about 15mpg. Is there any fix for that? Also, it would be nice if the rear seats folded down flat - with the angle, cargo space is compromised.

Another quality vehicle from Hyundai

I bought this car new in 2019. Overall mpg during the winter is around 60mpg and the summer is 54mpg. It is loaded with driver assist safety features like maintaining a minimum distance when using cruise control where it automatically slows down when cars ahead of you are slowing down. It also nudges the steering wheel to help you stay in your lane. It will detect if you let go of the steering wheel and give you warning messages and beeps. It gives you warnings when you signal for a lane change and someone is next to you. The headlights will automatically go on or off as it senses how dark it is outside. It has a back up camera with a 7" display that gives a superior picture of what's going on behind you. It has an advanced climate control system where you just set the temperature you want and it will do the rest. Also when you receive a phone call, the climate system will turn down the fan speed to make it quieter. The vehicle interfaces with my phone very well. I use a cable to connect to the Android Auto feature for superior sound quality and map functions. The sound system is better than any American car I drove and any previous Hyundai also. It also does Bluetooth but Android Auto sounds better with cleaner sound and good bass. It will kind of coach how to drive to get maximum MPG. You will get the best MPG by more gradual acceleration and gradual braking to allow it to capture the most amount of battery charging. It will switch back and forth using the gas engine then using the electric motor. The central display screen can show when the vehicle is driving on the engine or the electric motor or both. There are a host or other display modes also... The only negatives are that the rear window is almost vertical so during the summer the hot sun is blasting into the rear of the car. I had some special heat deflecting window tint installed to mitigate this somewhat. Also if your driving to get the best MPG, then the driver behind you will not like following you and will go around you. Overall you get a lot of the modern electronics and features for a decent price.

Stealthy car that’s fun to drive

Stumbled into the Ioniq 2-3 months before buying. I test drove other cars, but the overall package (pricing, ride quality, features, mpg) is what sold me on this car. 12 months later, still in love my Ioniq.

Powerful and fuel efficient

This car is highly responsive, fun to drive, and very efficient. The safety features are really useful. The car alerts me when I I get a little out of my lane, rear camera is great. The technology in the Limited trim is really useful and makes my commutes productive. Styling is great inside and out. The cargo space is impressive for a car this size.

Better than expected

The Ioniq has exceeded my expectations. It is as advertised on fuel efficiency, and a lot more fun to drive than you would think. I get both great gas mileage and a sporty ride when wanted/needed! Visibility is good, and the steering wheel controls make driving easier. The back up camera has been helpful as well! The car has great climate control and is easy to heat up or cool down whenever needed.

Excellent Green Car

Very good vehicle. Gets great gas mileage. Acceleration is adequate, considering the economical driving. Some minor design flaws...for example, your hand often hits the climate control buttons when you’re putting your phone on the charger pad.
