Practicality

The Kona overall is a good vehicle. The many of the controls are on steering wheel including AWD, and radio which is very convenient. The AWD drive that can be switched off is probably is the most notable feature. This vehicle drives like any other Hyundai model; very practical and smooth. Does not have great acceleration. This vehicle would be a good option though for someone looking compact AWD vehicle. The body of the vehicle for some of the might be too much for some of the model’s shades. Also another good feature for this vehicle is that many features can be manually controlled and are not as automatic which is something I personally value.

fun little car

My first new car. I previously lived in New York City and haven't owned a car for over a decade. So when looking to purchase a new car, I wanted it to be a compact suv, because I wanted a smaller, easier car to drive. Wish I got the hybrid though.

2020 kona

The kona is a great small suv on the road, since I have been driving small vehicle all the time. The one I got is the se as a base model. I am getting a good gas milage like my old 2017 kia soul. Comparing this car to its level like mazda 3 you will save easy 3k, plus the warranty is more too.

My first Hyundai

I like my Kona. Bought it after riding on a friend’s. I have also heard these cars are reliable and my friend has had nothing but Hyundai vehicles for over 10 years. I like the styling and coming from a 10 year old car, creature comforts like a backup camera and Apple CarPlay and blind spot sensors are a game changer for me. I am easily amused.

Great SUV

Nice small SUV. Great pick-up with the Turbo Engine on the Ultimate Trim. Easy to maneuver and park, plus good handling on the road. Great for Road Trips, the enhanced cruise control really makes a difference. Almost drives itself.

It's my favorite car I've owned; loaded, reasonably price.

I drove a 2017 Chevy Trax for 3 years, having had it 1/2 way paid off. About a month before during a slick winter morning commute my car slid out of control and I was almost t-boned. While it scared me, I quickly let it go, but kept what could of been my end in the back of my mind. Went to the Indy Auto show after Xmas 2019 and saw the Kona. I've read about it before and I liked how it looked, so I checked it out, sat in it, got a feel for it. My big regret was not getting AWD for the trax, so decided to pop into Ray Skillman Hyundai in Avon to check the car out. Now the last time I bought a car I settled, so I told my salesperson that I wanted a car fairly loaded (great auto system, heated seats....spoiled by my wife's car lol) but most importantly AWD. They had a white one that looked really nice so I took it for a test drive. Decent acceleration, as I mentioned, fairly loaded (high end sound system, other perks I mentioned) and the aforementioned must-have AWD. They let me take the car home overnight to get a better feel for it, and after taking my wife for a drive, I fell in love with the darn thing. Seats are fairly comfortable, the tech is pretty awesome; wouldn't recommend this crossover vehicle for folks with really long legs, and if your kids are much older than 5-7 the rear seat doesn't provide much room. However for either a couple or a single person this car will leave a smile on your face once you test drive it. I can't necessarily vouch YET (of course once I buy the car there is nary a snow or icy day for the rest of last winter) but in general this is the first car I have not had to alter to get what I wanted. I drive the SEL which is a great combination of price and options for what you get. Highly recommended.

Good looking vehicle. Enjoy driving it. I traded a wrecked vehicle 2018 Elantra but would still rather have the Elantra for the price range my payment higher on new vehicle but it's a good car all in all

Astrid my Kona

Love my Kona, but its "take off" is slow, once it gets going it can go faster, just a hint when intending on passing, give more space to pass. The storage/trunk area is small. Great saftey features. I still haven't learned all the features.

Your vehicle is good but could be better

I bought this vehicle for the all-wheel drive as well as for comfort. I found many of the materials cheap such as the door armrest which are a hard plastic and very uncomfortable to use. There was no navigation system with this vehicle nor did it include the app so that I could use it from my phone. Cheaper and more expensive vehicles had this app my particular one did not.

Great price and features but missing AC in the back

Everything about the vehicle is great and it has all the safety features we were looking for plus more. The only issue we discovered was that there were no AC vents in the back and passengers sitting back there did not get all the cool air from the front AC vents.

Good on gas Cabin noise Road noise load Driver seat ( the one I sit in all the time ) could be more supportive I wish tahr the over hang on the back window would allow for better cleaning if the window. The top across the back window hard to keep clean

Wouldn't have bought this color.

Was told I would get a better deal, buy purchasing the Lime Twist. Had items I didn't really want. Such as a sunroof, and I guess as many new cars it had no CD player. But the vehicle has many good features and drives well and has plenty of leg room - as I am 6 foot 4 and 225 pounds.

Nice little car, acceleration could be a little faster

Love the Kona, the only thing I would change if I could would be a faster acceleration on take off. Sometimes it seems to hesitate. After taking off it seems fine. A lot of nice features. It has a lot of nice safety features, and a nice stereo system

Great Car

The Kona SE with the AWD is a Great little SUV to get around town. It has plenty of power to merge into traffic onto expressways when you need it and it does very well in the snow with the AWD. It’s fun to drive and a comfortable car.

Small vehicle

The Kona is very limited in space inside vehicle no leg room and no trunk room. The vehicle is cozy for a single person but not a family vehicle at all. I would not repurchase a Kona again but I also have 8 grandkids 7of which use a car seat and you can only fit 2 car seats in vehicle so it’s a hassle with kids

Nice little car

We bought a nice little car. We felt that we needed a small SUV for getting back and forth to work in all weather conditions. Hyundai's warranty is legendary. We are impressed with the overall functionality and fuel economy of the Kona . The only problem has been the incomplete roof rack assembly which makes the roof rails absolutely worthless. They should be included with every vehicle equipped with the roof rails. Now in order to use your small SUV with the roof rails, you have to purchase from the hyundai dealer the cross bars for an additional $700....Ridiculous in our opinion.
