Almost Perfect

As I continue to downsize my life - from job to home to cars - I research the sub compact SUV's for 6 months before my RAV4 lease ended - and came easily to the conclusion of the Kona Ultimate. Color was going to be the only choice and I passed the lime green ( at the request of my wife) - for all black ... The deciding factors : the 1.6T engine is clearly the class of this class- not even close and has proven to be the right choice - that plus I ruled out any vehicles with a CVT transmission near the ned- just not reliable enough. I am 6'3" and 260 pounds and fit very well in the front seat. Safety features are the same as most high end SUV's and it handles very well in snow. my onlt concerns in order 1/ C'mon, no auto liftgate or even an inside release at a $30,000 priceline ? 2/ please go back to a spare tire vs kit 3/ back seat leg room could use another 2-3 inches -- other than that you nailed it

Pleasantly surprised

As a diehard Subaru owner, I was reluctant to consider change, however our Hyundai Kona has exceeded our expectations. The Kona is beautifully styled and loaded with plenty of technology. The Kona received top IIHS safety ratings. As a physics teacher who has taught the physics of auto crashes, it is comforting to know Hyundai takes crash-worthyness seriously. The Bluetooth connectivity and voice recognition features exceeded performance expectations and are a vast improvement over my last vehicle. The sales team not only made good faith negotiations but also made the transfer of my previously leased vehicle a seamless experience. If I could suggest anything additional for the future, it would be to have a CD player for audio books, footwell illumination, coin holder for center console, a spare tire and jack for the Ultimate version, memory seats & mirror settings, and door lights which illuminate the ground when opened. A plug-in battery/gasoline hybrid would be nice as well. Thank you to Hyundai for creating a wonderful vehicle; we will be back in the future.

Kona is a fine car

The Hyundai Kona is a winner. The price is moderate. Everything else about it is extraordinary. The Kona sits high. Always looks like it's ready to jump into the next adventure. Don't have to worry about scraping on those parking lot concrete space markers or speed bumps. The Kona eases over them. Looks great and has a very quiet and smooth ride. Not to mention...very comfortable!

Suggestion

If a warning light comes on, even for a brief time. Such as battery, or system off. Please show the page # along with the warning so you don't have to search through the War and Peace manual to find it. What a help that would be. Thank you.

I love the Kona and the fact that I could get a different color than Gray!!! There are hundreds of Gray cars all over the place and I did not want another Gray car, I wanted to Light UP my life with color.

Love my Kona

I researched the Kona before I went to the dealership. I was impressed with the features and the price point. This was one of the few cars that I found when searching that had all the features I was looking for - sunroof, heated seats, bluetooth compatibility, rear facing camera, blind spot detection, ability to use off-road, etc. I drove a different car and was impressed, but when I got into the Kona, I knew I was going to go with this car. Other than struggling with the door latch on the trunk, I have had no problems in the 3 months that I have driven this car. It's adorable, zippy, fun to drive, and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Great car to drive for someone who isn't tall or big. It would be nice if Kona had a Value Edition model and if it. The interior is nice but not a lot of options of fabric color. Maybe a little too much air noise when the windows are up.

2020 Kona

I purchased the Kona in January. It was my 2nd choice of what I wanted because it was so new. I was going to get the newest Hyundai vehicle, but the storage was way too small. The Kona has been a much better fit to my needs. I had previously leased a Tuscon, which I loved, but it was too big. I definitely don't like the car payment, but the car is fabulous to drive.

Loving my new ride

Enjoying the safety features!! A month after purchasing the stop assist saved me from an accident during a snowy morning drive into work. The milage has been between 30 to 35 MPG which is nice for a SUV.

You must Test Drive a Kona with others in same size / price class

Has all the safety features in a convenient size package. Reasonably priced. Multiple locations for service if needed. Styling will not be outdated for foreseeable future. A sporty up to date feel and appearance.

Great value. You get a lot of bells and whistles for the money. Good gas mileage, Cargo storage is small. I wish the dealer was current on the Hyundai special offers. We bought this during the "Pandemic" and got a great deal.

A LOT more car than its competitors

I leased the Kona as a downsizing move, replacing a long line of mid-sized SUVs. I wanted something small, efficient and affordable that felt zippy but not like I was sitting two inches off the pavement and the Kona fit the bill. It's been a much easier--and even enjoyable--transition than expected. If you like a lot of features in your car (driver assist, anti-roll back, large rearview camera, AWD, awesome entertainment system with top of the line Sirius Radio and Apple Car Play) but hate having to upgrade to the highest trim level in order to get them, then Hyundais are for you as they come packed with these things. I'm a person who likes change and I change up my cars more frequently than most, and Hyundais are the only vehicle that I have ever chosen to own two in a row. The reason is that, with this last trade-in, I would have either had to lose a bunch of the features I'm used to or seriously increase my payment by switching brands (and in some cases, both), so it was an easy choice to go with another Hyundai.

This vehicle for the money has some of the best features offered out there. Apple car play and wireless phone charging is two of the many features offered and are amazing. I haven’t been able to drive in the winter conditions to truly test the awd system but the north east winters will surely put this vehicle through its paces.

Love my Kona. Gas mileage is great

Love the 2020 Kona, fun to drive, great milage, and sporty. Love that it is a on demand all wheel drive vehicle. Only challenge is if you have a flat tire, the flat only fits in the back of the seat is payed down.

Not sure this vehicle could be any better.

I love my new Kona. I love everything about it. I bought a 2013 MINI Cooper hardtop five years ago to be my daily driver, and have always planned to buy a new one. But I saw a Kona a couple months ago, was super impressed with the appearance, so started researching the car. I watched youtube videos, read car reviews...really looked into this Kona. I test drove it, and bought it. I cannot express enough how much I love this vehicle. You name a feature, this car most likely has it. I bought the Kona Ultimate...it is loaded. I love it...enough said.

Fantastic

I love my car! I upgraded from a 2001 Acura to a 2020 Kona Limited, so pretty much all the features in this car blew me away.. but that’s not to say it has features like other cats. To me, the Limited had everything I wanted and wasn’t worth it to upgrade to ultimate. It has more features for the price, like: leather seats, heated seats, the wireless charging, free blue link for first 3 years as well as complimentary maintenance. It feels like a luxury vehicle in many aspects. Great sporty styling , smooth ride. I was seeing people hesitate about the dual-clutch transmission, and noticed a little hesitation before it kicks in very slow forward motion low speed. For instance, this happens when I start my car and put it into the garage. Overall it’s not that concerning, and still very much recommend the car.
