Kona Complications

I loved this vehicle when I got it. But after a faulty part in the sreering column and the alignment going bad twice in the 1st year I dubbed the car the Corona Kona and got rid of it for a Ford Fusion Hybrid.

I would pass on this until they fix the issues

Pass on it until they fix the issues. I love the way the front of the vehicle looks and the top but I don't like the side view. The power in this small vehicle is insufficient. The features are great when they work.

It’s small, definable needs a bigger trunk

Within the first year of having my car I already had a major repair and I’m nervous something else will go wrong. I do not trust that the dealership will provide me with good care during the next issue

Great torque

The vehicle has amazing torque at high gears, and a whole lot of pep for such a small engine. The dual clutch transmission is very nice, and gear ratios are on point. However, as early power train issues are cropping up at only a year/20k miles in. Plus a mix of trivial complaints about cracking leather on the steering wheel, a buzzy bass in the ‘premium sound system’ when combined with serious electronics issues such as the collision detection going off and slamming on the breaks at 75mph due what I think is just glare off the road; I have been pretty disappointed and dissatisfied with purchasing both the specific vehicle, trim, and Hyundai in general.

Engine recalls ruined the Kona for me

I loved my Kona until the engine recalls began to come out. It was not properly diagnosed twice before the engine finally died and now has to be replaced but it’s about a two to three month waiting time to get the Kona back. Hyundai’s warranty apparently just continues on and doesn’t renew if there’s a major recall that causes a whole engine to be replaced. I plan to trade in this vehicle for something other than a Hyundai due to the engine issues as well as the lack of help with the warranty, seems like an engine recall that wasn’t properly identified by a Hyundai certified service team at the location where the vehicle was purchased and required a new engine to be put in would warrant some flexibility on the warranty but apparently not.

Not holding your end of the warranty on a vehicle

The dealership not wanting to go any further than putting oil in it and telling me to drive it very poor service on your end for a brand new car I like the car very much but I was not about to driving on an expressway and break down in the engine blow up. I really disappointing that Hyundai not go any further.

Lack of power

It's okay

Vehicle looks nice in and out and sound system is good but even with the turbo the car driving wise is not that great. Excelerating with it sucks from either going after stopped or trying to speed up.

The car is good, but the manual key of the car doesnt fit when I returned to hyundai they said its tampered which we tried the key

The Hyundai dealer most especially who works on the front-REED hyundai are not really accomodating most especiallly the guy name BLAKE... I bought my car new 2021 and the battery died after 2 years I called my car insurance around 7pm to start up my car and the manual key didnt work, so car insurance has to open my car. When I brought the car to hyundai and told them about my concern they said the key issue they cannot do anything because its tampered..... People there are only accomodating if youre going to buy car after that nothing.. so the warranty is basically nothing

Vehicle is OK

I wanted to go back to a hatchback vehicle. I wish I had looked at others. The Kona is ok but I am paying much more than last vehicle and was expecting a better experience. I did not go to dealership with intent to do anything that day. I wish I would have waited.

2021 Hyundai Kona

The 2021 Hyundai Kona looks good on the outside but now, having owned one for a few months, I find the vehicle rather mediocre. The displays are so dated and the interior is just plastic. Like my previous Hyundai, the seats are uncomfortable. (BTW, I am quite slender.) I can not imagine using this vehicle for any long road trip. Fortunately I do have heated seats because getting heat in the cabin takes forever! The heat/air conditioning controls are so dated - the same knobs that have been used for the past 20 years or longer. No temperature shown!

Engine

Like the vehicle overall but engine is underpowered. Slow to get up to speed,over revs when stepping on gas petal. Lags behind. To me I think the rpms are to high when in high gear. Engine should be turbo charged.

Blue Link is annoying

My Kona is a great vehicle however, it comes with an app called Blue link that keeps telling me that I need to service the vehicle. I took it to be service and was told that they’re having trouble with that but haven’t been able to fix it. Now every time I turn on my vehicle, the message pops up. Very annoying!!!!

hopefully bowser and hyundia will be as cooperative with maintence and warranty as they were to sell it

give me some time to take in on a decent trip longer than 20 miles no room in rear seating area also seems like weather stripping on doors leak water when washing and when it rains if not parked on level will see when serviced if bowser has any thoughts on that

Hyundai kona

Nice starter vehicle but I had specific features I considered deal breakers. I felt like I didn’t have to ask because I was initially told that the vehicle was equipped with blue link and it would function just like onstar and it isn’t a feature that can be modified. At this point I’ll just trade it in and be more diligent about checking ALL features.

Not happy with the interior

The style of the car is sporty looking which I like but not happy with the interior. The seats are poor quality & uncomfortable. Plus passenger seat does not have any adjustments or lumber.Very cheap materials inside of the vehicle.

Night audition, wish had better sound

I bought this vehicle for camuting to work. Also,for going to montians to hike,and other remote areas. Witch I can not do with no spare tire. The sound system is very below par. I do not like the road noise. The gasoline mileage is ok for the size and power. It handles good in snow and high winds, for what it is. I like the warranty, but drive 130 miles per day to work so 100,000 miles is not that much. I got the Night model because of the turbo,AWD,and rims. If it had tinted windows a spare and better sound system would be perfect. I can live with road noise if the speakers sounded better,louder clearer more base.

Warranty issue in first weeks, not happy being out of my new car almost right away, had to wait for parts to come in,s till dont have my car and the dealership didnt even cover my full rental costs, have to fight for money back
