Love my car

Wish Toyota still made a convertible. My car is over 13 years old and still going strong. Just hope it keeps going for a few more years since there is no other convertible out there that suits me more than this car.

Love my car

I have a 2008 SLE V6 Toyota Solara that I purchased used in 2016 with 17K miles on it. It took me a solid month to find it but I knew I wanted another Solara after totaling my 1999 Solara in a car accident. I love the way it rides and the way it looks. I also like the fact that I rarely need repairs on it other than new tires and brakes now and then. The Solara is a solid car and safer than most as my 1999 Solara smacked into a tractor trailer while driving on I-95 and I walked away without a scratch. I drove it home from the accident with the passenger side completely smashed up and the spinning wheel indent of the tractor trailer wheel embedded in my car. I highly recommend the car.

Almost no repairs in 14 years

Love the car. Have had no problem with it mechanically. Mostly only ordinary maintenance work. Fourteen years and only radio issue. Should still be making it. Get many positive comments about the look of the car.

Love the car!

Purchased in 2008 and promptly fell in love with it! Roomy, comfortable for driver and passenger, full trunk, top does not take up trunk space! Powerful and peppy…very consistent 23-25 mpg! Had the car 15 years and have no intention of trading! Can’t think of a better testimony than that! It is a very popular car. We see lots of them on the Highway! Do not understand why Toyota stopped making them because we would have likely traded for another one!

I5 years old and still going strong

Other than routine maintenance, tires, brake pads, I've not needed any engine work done. The roof is easy to take down or put up. Has up to date features of 2008. Inside trunk release and gas door. Trunk could fit 2 dead bodies.

Head-Turning lines that simply grow more classic

Unclip the top; push the button… the top is down; you’re on your way… up the coast to Santa Barbara. Shall we stop for early lunch at In-N-Out in Ventura? Let’s press on 25 minutes more to Montecito, drive under the 101, cruise East Beach’s Art Festival, to lunch upstairs at the Santa Barbara Yacht Club’s Pier… for the morning catch. Sit down, skip the menu, ask, “What’s fresh?” And have the best-prepared seafood ever! After… a stroll along the breakwater near high tide. Trying to stay dry. Look at the old abalone boats, trawlers, and maybe the odd purse-seiner; a wooden ketch or two. Want to stay the night? Resorts are a lawn away from East Beach. A mile more takes you back to Montecito, across the tracks to quaint hotels and cottages that were used by Hollywood royalty. Tomorrow? Take the convertible shopping up State Street, walk the grounds and architectural beauty of City Hall. Have a sandwich at the little café across the street from the North Lawn. Head North to a tour of the Mission. After… evening, still top down, find the North end of “APS” (Alameda Padre Serra) up in the hills behind Santa Barbara. Slowly take it to the end of APS at five points where you will get lost. One road takes you Westmont College; another to the orchid greenhouses, another to the high school, yet another to the fire station and church, still another to downtown Montecito… and one to the freeway home hmmm that’s 5 roads and 7 places… *chuckle* I did mention you might get lost.

Automotive satisfaction

I love the look, the smoothness, overall performance. Very low maintenance and fun to drive. I would not feel comfortable traveling long distance in this car only because of the size which is compact.

2008 Toyota Camry Solara

I love my car. I bought it at an auction place. The only things that needed repair so far is I had to buy a new convertible top just to fix the trough behind the top. There wasn't anything wrong w/the top but because of the placement of the trough, everything needed to be replaced. I definitely wasn't happy about that--expensive. But overall, my car runs well, I haven't had any problems under the hood. I would love to buy another car like mine but because of the convertible trough replacement and the non-convertible make not to my liking, I'll have to find something else in the Toyota line that appeals to me.

Fun car still runs great with 210,000 miles

Comfy fun car to drive. Lots of room and huge trunk. The top does not eat up trunk space like domestic engineering does. Sound system is excellent. They don't make them anymore so grab one and have fun.
