DAMAGED CAR DURING REPAIR/WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
I took my car in for Rack & Pinion Assembly on September 8, 2020. It cost $1,100 plus. When I picked it up Jeremie at counter said to give it a couple of weeks for everything to settle. OMG. I drove off the lot and there was a constant loud humming and the car vibrated and shook at every stop light/stop sign and idle. My car always drove quiet and smooth before it went into this shop for repair. It says on my receipt that they test drove it and it all checked out. That cannot be true. So I called a couple of weeks later as I took counter persons advice. I scheduled to have the Oil Pressure Sensor replaced on Friday October 16, 2020 as I had the day off. When I went in I told them what was wrong with my car and that it had never done any of that til it had been worked on in the shop. The Lead Tech drove with me and right away it started humming and shaking and he said "I know what it is". When I picked the car up a couple hours later I no more than got out of the lot and it was humming and vibrating as it had been doing since they worked on it. When I got home I called the shop and Will said it is on my receipt that I need Motor Mounts replaced and he could get me in on Wednesday. The quote is for $1537.00. I told him I am not going to put thousands more dollars into my car when it did not have the problem until it was worked on in the shop. Will then stated "Your car is old, The Tech tightened it down the best he could" On the receipt from the replacement of the Oil Pressure Sensor it has a notation that the Motor Mounts need replaced and an estimate of $1537.00. Now mind you on the receipt from the work done on September 8, 2020 of the Rack & Pinion Assembly there is no notation that the Motor Mounts need replaced. I have called other shops and have been told the Tech that worked on the car would have seen that the Motor Mounts were worn out and needed replaced and the quote I have received is excessive. I looked on line and the average cost to repair Motor Mounts is $550.00. I believe and so do the people I have spoken with about this that the Tech stripped the Motor Mounts when he was doing the repair on September 8, 2020 of the Rack & Pinion Assembly and the shop will not take responsibility..
