Personal experience

This car was selected first on looks and then price was a serious consideration. I found it was very well equipped and was very impressed with the warranty. The horse power claimed seemed sufficient but was not and I should have opted for the 6 cylinder. I am reasonably satisfied overall and don't plan to change for a few years.

This car makes me pretty happy - lots of bells and whistles that my prior car did not have. Nice that Genesis throws in the service for remote start, etc for 3 years. My biggest problem was deciding on which color to get! Overall I am happy with my purchase!

2019 Genesis G70 Sport

For the price the car cant be beat! The acceleration, and the handling are near perfect when set to sport. Then you flip it to comfort and you are sitting in a car that is just as comfortable as something twice as expensive. The exterior body lines are beautiful, and the paint is marvelous, Interior trim reminds me of the s-line interior for Audi. My only complaint is with the brakes and for me it's a big one. The brakes overheat very quickly. Heavy traffic, highway use, anything above 55mph or a hot summer day and all I get is one good stop. After that I have to give myself much more room to stop because it absolutely needs it. I know the calipers are brembo but I'm not sure the disc's are. Brembo.com doesn't list the car as having its products on the car.

So far satisfied with product and first Korean made auto leased. Compares favorably to German and Japanese autos but since this is a relatively new product I will wait until I have more miles driven to review reliability of vehicle After 10000 miles I will reevaluate this vehicle.

Great with One Exception

Overall this is a good car for the price. The style, handling and fit and finish are great; however, considering this car is sold as performance car and advertised as competition to the likes of the BMW 3 series and others, the acceleration off the line is lagging. from a dead stop, when the accelerator is pushed, the car briefly lags before acceleration occurs. My previous Ford Fusions accelerated quicker from a stop. I expected better performance from the engine/turbo.

GOOD CHOICE BUT HAVE NOT OWNED IT LONG ENOUGH OR PUT ON ENOUGH MILES TO RATE IT AS A LONG TERM INVESTMENT. INITIAL IMPRESSION IS THAT GAS MILEAGE WILL NOT MEET EXPECTATIONS. LENGTH IS GREAT, BEING SLIGHTLY LESS THAN THE AVERAGE SEDAN OF 192 INCHES. WOULD HAVE PREFERRED IT BEING ABOUT 4 INCHES SHORTER BUT ONLY COMING OFF THE FRONT END.

Lots of Features for the Money but Wish There Were a Few More

Maybe the conclusion is ultimately, the 3.3T would have been a better option than the 2.0T. That extra power might have made me overlook things that I find lacking. But overall, it's a great car with a lot of feature that come standard in the Sport trim level. My "Cons" list pretty much sums up everything.

Great Car

I love my car, the ride is so smooth, the seats are so comfortable and everything is so easy to use it is just so fun to drive. It has some great safy features. The only thing I have an issue is the tires/rims. I have had to replace to many tires. Everything else about the car I love.

Don’t Drive it Because, You’re Going To Buy it.

Was planing to test drive the 2.0t and the 3.3t but, after the 2.0t test drive we realized that there was no more need for speed. The three year free service valet is a plus. We did not realize that it was the car of the year but, it feels like the car of the year. Handled the 260 mile ride through the mountains without any hesitation. Can believe the power of the vehicle.

Car is fun to drive. Addressing a few areas could take this to the top of the table. Excellent first effort in the sport sedan segment by the genesis engineering team. Please keep the pro's and improve on the con's. Dealership experience definitely need to be addressed to retain loyalty amongst new customers.

Great Vehicle

I have previously owned the Genesis brand and I have always loved it. I always received great compliments on the looks of the vehicle and that to me is very important. The last one that I had was a G80, but it was totaled. I would have like the same, but pricing wasn't as good as the G70.

This is a great vehicle

I love this car, it has amazing pick-up. When it is in Sport mode and you hit the accelerator, it really takes off. Beautiful handling. Very comfortable ride. I gave it 4 stars because Gas mileage with Premium gas is subpar, backseat is very tight, and touchscreen is a bit outdated My last several cars were Audi's with supercharged engines. This 3.3 twin turbo leaves them in the dust. It is fun to drive. Very little exterior noise.

Great new competitor!

So, what a deal compared to it competitors! Thousands less than others in it's class and certainly can match the performance. Some flaws: The handling could be a bit tighter, it is a sports vehicle that has to manage smoothly in any weather. Once in a while there seems to be a slight slip, not sure why...There is some hesitation when you press the gas pedal assertively, then it does kick in high gear and we are at 60 in seconds even with my weaker 2.0 engine. The sound system is also a relatively weak, if I turn it up it struggles with bass and deeper sounds. I'm not sure how I feel about the engine turning off at every stop...some pros and cons with that, this I'll keep neutral. For the positives: Again, compared to BMW and others it's a steal for the price. The design is spot on, only Infinity has similarly intriguing look. The car is light so one always feels a pep in their step. Comfort is nice, seats firm and leg room is way more comfortable than others I've experienced. The dash is super easy to see and everything is easy to access. I get compliments on this car everywhere I go and even from driver's who have expensive and exclusive vehicles. Our 1 year anniversary is coming up and it has been very joyous ride so far, nothing but the normal expectations of a Genesis. Keep the innovations coming!

this is the second Genesis vehicle I've owned and as with the first' very impressed with advanced safety features and ease of use of info/entertainment system. Usually apprehensive of first year vehicles but so far no problems (bugs) have arisen. The pricing may be a little high.

Nice Car Has a Few Issues

Car looks good. Fast and fun to drive. Has a few issues such as the auto bright lights turn off and on constantly and its the first selection when turning them on so I forget to double click it and end up putting them on auto and they turn off when I pass a sign, mailbox or even a tree that reflects the light. It beeps when put in park and reverse, not needed sounds cheap. The headlights are aimed dangerously low and cannot be adjusted, also have dark spots that move across your line of site as you turn. To have the interior lights come on with the door a button has to be pressed in and it stays illuminated all the time, seems backwards. Head liner makes a cracking sound. Back seat leg room is tight. Seat belt tone stays on even when put in park so if I un click in my garage while in drive and then shift into park it stays on. Auto wipers suck and there is no intermittent setting. Do not like pushing a button to put in park just can't get use to it.

Super car

I am comparing my 3.3T to previously owned cars 2012 Cadillac CTSV, 2009 Pontiac GXP, 2007 Cadillac XLR. All sporty type performance cars. The G70 excels in all aspects of performance. The only complaint that i have with the car is it's lack of visual distinction. This $45k car is barely noticeable among Accords, Camrys and such. Genesis even copied Chrysler's brand ID, but smaller, wings as hood and trunk emblems. That is the most usual question that my golfing friends ask. What kind of Chrysler is this? Was Genesis afraid to claim this great auto?

Red gives nice sports and sedan look

Pro: Awesome power, Gas mileage. And the luxury. My personal favorite is cruise control. And auto brake. Rear object approaching warning Also large multimedia screen. Plenty of power. Con: Too much outside noice. At 13k mi. I had to replace starter. OVER PRICED
