Would be 5 star if it was not for the Genesis dealership experience

The car drives and handles like a dream (3.3 v6). Fabulous value for the money. The interior is spectacular (prestige, light grey). I was I trig used by the g70 as soon as it was introduced and test drive it as soon as it came on the market (finding a dealership with inventory for a test drive was an ordeal). I love driving my car but I despise interacting with the dealership. Unfortunately not many options where I live. Coming from BMW the car is as good as what old school BMW used to be and better than what new BMW sadly became (no steering feel, ugly design). Unfortunately the ownership experience is ruined by the dealerships.

Best bang for the buck

Overall this is a nice car. It is the best value in the segment. Fuel efficiency need to be improved though as well as road noise. Infortain screen inside can be bigger. Need to have its own dealership with service department. Online service appointment system doesnt work with dealer.

Great driving car with excellent value

Great driving car with lots of standard tech/features including ventilated seats, 360 camera, nappa leather. Genesis built a car with excellent value compared to other luxury brands. But there are refinement issues with the transmission and brakes and the lack of dedicated and separated dealership network is a missed opportunity to build a better brand experience.

great vehicle, nagging braking issues

Love the car, however I have had endless trouble with the braking system that has been unresolved for the majority of my ownership of this vehicle. This despite corporate oversight and replacement of nearly the entire subsystem. It’s unfortunate that such a great car can’t be serviced to closure of this issue.

Genesis great style

Many compliments on looks of the car. Will probably purchase again. Good pick up and a/c. Interior lights either not working or they do not come with the car. It is very dark in the car it night while driving and when you open the door. Other car makes have exterior light when you unlock the car. This is very useful.

Fun car

Love how the car accelerates, barely get beaten at a red light. It handles well, but had to get used the rear loosing some traction when wheels are wet or when the gas is pushed too hard, however now find it being a fun factor of the car. I am not impressed by being able to feel every bump in the road. Wish it had an automatic trunk closer (newer models I believe now have it). Had to jump start/recharge the battery 3x within the first year and a half, I didn't expect that from a new purchased car (sitting inside a warm garage).

Give me a remote start that works

Only one gripe with this car. It does not have a remote start on the key fob. The remote start, lock and unlock are provided by a smart phone app. It is a rare occasion indeed when it works. This is extremely aggravating considering we paid circa $40,000 for a luxury sport sedan. We have called Genesis customer service several times and they can get the application working. However, it won’t work the next time we try to use it. There is an after market remedy available to correct this design flaw but it costs $330. Not an acceptable solution to me.

2019 Genesis G70 Sport RWD

2019 G70 Sport RWD 3.3L Turbo is a fun, sporty and comfortable car if you accept his weakness: small rear seat space (no issue if kids < 10yr ar your passengers), moderate trunk storage (~10 cu.ft), low stance and flexibility to get in are not an issue. If you leave north or mid-country, prone to snow/ice... get the the AWD

The G70 is an outstanding drivers car with standard features that the competition charges for. The drivability is excellent, looks and interior are outstanding & despite some braking issues encountered along with some trim issues overall the car is great

Nice ride for 3 1/2 people

Great styling and easy parking, however only room for 3 1/2 people. I sold the car and leased a 2020 Sonata. Great car but no prestige as the Genesis had. Plenty of seat room though. Would like Genesis to take the Sonata size, smaller than a G80, and Genesize it. Make it a plug in.

2019 G-70 sport with manual transmission

Generally a satisfying alternative to the German alternatives, but is under-powered with this drivetrain; good (but not excellent) gearbox; satisfying clutch; too bad they did not offer the 2.5 L engine with this transmission; The quality and design of the car is quite good. The suspension and brakes are great. The cabin is a little tight and getting in a little difficult. The materials are fine. Too bad I could not get a fully optioned care with the manual transmission. That would have been something else!

Fantastic car, terrible dealers.

Genesis exterior and interior design are delightful. The handling is fantastic. Unfortunately, I’ve had several issues that point to reliability issues. A major problem are the dealers: poor facilities, terrible experience: It’s the exact opposite of the experience at Lexus or any German car manufacturer.

G70 is an Incredible Car!

This can be summarized very easily - When leasing the vehicle I was asked "what is the nicest car you have ever driven?" I honestly struggled to provide an answer because no car had ever left me with any long standing impressions. Well that has changed and from the moment I drove the new G70 I knew I was finally driving the best car I had ever driven. A car that finally would etch that memory...Hands down one of the best cars on the market especially for the price point. Job well done Genesis!

Time will tell

I waited six weeks for this car. Right now I am a little disappointed in the gas milg. and wind noise on the highway.I will be keeping track of the gas usage in the future to see if gets better. I also would like to know what grade I should be using.

Just an amazing machine designed with the highest quality in mind

Wow what a thrill to ride and occupy. Fast sleek handles the whole works. Looks great and rides like a gazelle. Possibly the best Genesis made,, you want a sport sedan come here. Great handling all wheel drive in the snow. Go for it.

Converted BMW owner

The G70 is the absolute best bang for your buck in this car segment. I have been a lifetime fanatic of BMW performance engineering, and am now blown away by what Genesis has accomplished with the G70. The best part is that the G70 is a little bit of a "sleeper" car. No one expects it to launch with so much authority and sublime handling from a dead standstill. And it is still nimble at high speeds. It is an absolute joy to drive.
