Love my G70 overall but have some issues.

I bought a Genesis G70 Sport which is a fantastic car, very fast, handles great. The Sport model has “smoked chrome” trim around the windows which is very fragile and scratches easily. My G70 trim was scratched on delivery. I showed this to the dealer and the only solution is to replace the trim, the scratches can’t be buffed out or the soft plastic coating will buff off exposing the bright chrome underneath, not good. My concern is that the grill is also coated in this soft, scratch prone, coating. I am also worried that the replacement parts will be as fragile as the original. This is a MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. These trim pieces are in high wear areas, car washes ect. will continue to scratch the parts. These parts should ALL be coated With a hard coating like DLC (Diamond Like Coating). By the way, the scratched trim issue is heavily discussed on line forums.

G70 = amazing

The overall design & looks of G70 are awesome. It's a real head turner. The 3.3T Sport is style, luxury & performance all melded together is a great looking package. A great alternative to the BMW 3 series or the Mercedes-Benz C class. The 5 year 60,000 mile warranty is an industry leader & gives you buyer's confidence.

Very good needs a little more sport to edge over the luxury competitors

Overall a very good car. I believe the 3.3t model which I have should have more sound. Every German competitor will cross shop and a bmw 440 or c43 sound and exhaust note may steal them away. The ride is very good but again steering is too light, and yes even for a confortable luxury brand. Overall would I buy this again YES because I know genesis is already working on some of these issues

My new car

I love my new car, had it for only 3 months and still trying to understand all that it has to offer. It drives like a dream, turns corners better than any car I ever had The beauty of it is fabulous & I feel Great behind the wheel. Hope it lasts a Very long time.

Great looking car

I love the styling and quality of the vehicle. Can't beat the price and warranty from comparable cars/manufacturers. I am really enjoying driving it as much as I can. Only knock on the vehicle, which is minor, small trunk and rear seat legroom. It's not a big deal because it's a compact sports sedan.

Very satisfied with vehicle, stylish, comfortable and loaded with lots of extras. Interior engine noise louder than I would have wanted and would purchase vehicle with larger ,Toronto and some additional options if I had to buy car again. Define toy highly recommend Genesis!

Excellent Car

I’m very happy to have the unique and aggressive looking 2020 G70. It’s stylish characteristics are what drew me to it, along with the amazing comfort of the ride it gives. After a year of ownership, I’m glad to see I still enjoy every drive with my car. I’ve enjoyed my Genesis experience through service visits and I can see myself wanting to continue with the brand for my next car.

Genesis G70

Love the styling and the drive. It is a great two seater (the rear seat has so little room it is non-functional. Great fuel economy and lots of power for a 4 cylinder. This is my second Genesis (both purchased new). My first one was a G80. It was very comfortable and quiet but a little too large for my taste.

No dealership

Love the car, however there is no dealer in my area and i am having a very hard time having it serviced. I live in East Hampton NY and purchased the car in Riverhead, NY. That is 30 miles from my home, soon after I bought the car the Dealer lost the Genisus contract. My next dealer was out of my zone, so I have been left without a service outlet. Please see if someone can help me. Thanks, Paul

Good purchase BUt

Purchased the car new. Was told by dealer regular gas could be used. If you do it will not give you good mileage. Use premium. Also 1month un I hear rattling in the dashboard and console. Dealer is booked with appointments. Will try again this week to see if they can fix that issue . Vehicle has good pick up and speed. The exterior ok is sleek and stylish. Inside is small if you have a family. I don't so it's good for me.

I love the styling and build quality. I purchased my Genesis due to warranty and free maintenance for 3 years/36,000 miles. So far I love my vehicle and definitely purchase another Genesis in the future. I just wish Genesis would have stand alone Genesis dealers,.

I like this car. I plan to get another Genesis, g80 at the end of my lease. I would like to suggest no money down on leased vehicles. I been leading for more than 25 years and just recently started putting money down. Car dealerships should really reconsider this mode of purchase.

Love styling and performance but need separate Genesis dealerships!

Love styling and performance of my G70 3.3T Sports, but am disappointed that promises of concierge service and “luxury” dealership treatment we’re unfulfilled due to lack of dedicated Genesis dealerships. Car also had some problems with finish of exterior chrome trim which initially looked great but deteriorated after a year or so.

The car itself is pretty good, however the dealership service experience is terrible, much closer to a Dodge dealership experience than a luxury car dealership experience. Should have separate service centers from the Hyundai or Kia service centers..

I love the way the car looks. It is beautiful. I wish the back seat was bigger. I have gotten several compliments on my car. I have bought several Genesis vehicles. The previous ones were Genesis G80 for elegance. This time I went for a sporty look.

I can say I wasn’t in the market for a Genesis & really didn’t know about the brand. I accidentally discovered it when I was visiting a Hyundai dealership to look at another vehicle. Saw the G70 & the more I looked the more I liked. I eventually bought one. Good decision on my part.

Great car with terrible support.

Car is a fantastic ride, has great styling, and is fun to drive. Dealership service experience is terrible, Genesis corporate doesn't care about any issues with the car after purchase, and expect the car to have issues that the Hyundai service tech's do not know how to resolve. In one year of ownership I've never had a car spend so much time at a dealership for things that should have never been an issue if any sort of quality control was attempted. Weeks upon weeks of the car being at the dealer in the first year leaves me with zero confidence in Genesis to resolve issues and in the long term reliability of the vehicle.

Great car, with one huge drawback

I leased this vehicle new off the lot. I wanted to trade from my NA Toyota Camry XSE to something with a turbo and between the Genesis and the Supra, this was clearly better. The first month or 2 were great, no issues and i drove the car daily and loved it. Then, something happened with the brakes. I took it in for a service and they said i had a warped rotor, causing vibration and braking performance to suffer horribly. They refinished the rotor and gave the car back. I noticed almost right away that it hadnt been corrected. But i waited a bit to see if driving the car would resolve the issue. It didnt. So i took it in again and they replaced the front rotors, and gave the car back. And STILL has issues with vibration and stopping power. If i am going at highway speed or above, the car vibrates through the pedals terribly and the braking performance is almost non-existant. its becoming a safety hazard at this point. Love everything else about the car, but the brakes need to be fixed or i wont be coming back.

Turbo and brake issues under 5k miles

I will start with saying the warranty and service contract has handled everything as well as I could have asked for . My issues started on the first 48 hours. A rattle noise , broken catalytic converter. A terrible screech from the throttle body, (main issue) causing turbos to be replaced 3 times and the vehicle repurchased, and the upgraded brakes overheating and clamping down twice. I would say they have some real issues and surprised no one has reported this here yet even though the genisis 9forums have many threads. Even my rental car had the noise and went unfixed after I reported it .

G70 has some serious braking issuse

The car was leased brand new and for a few months had no issues at all. Then the vibration with the brakes started and braking performance sucks. They refinished the rotors, then they replaced them and STILL it has issues. Any speeds above 60mph and it almost feels like the car wont stop unless you push hard through the vibrations.
