Great ride! Quirky and frustrating features.

The car looks great and the ride is very quiet and comfortable. Highway driving is excellent with the lane centering and advanced cruise control. The issue is the car has a bunch of features that don’t work well and most of which you can’t disable. The car rarely unlocks with the first pull of the handle, even though the mirrors unfold as it knows you have the key fob and you’re close. On startup, the infotainment wants you to make a selection as to which driver profile you want to use. It should know based on which key fob or let you just set a default one. But this screen lasts 30 seconds unless you select one. The car also does a terrible job going back and forth between profiles. I often find that it resets my chosen gauge clusters and doesn’t reset the lumbar support in the seats. This is dumb, you just want to jump in the car and go, but it feels like you have to set it up every time you want to drive it. The hvac controls look nice but are totally unusable in direct sunlight because it can’t see the digital interface. You have to manually disable auto stop every time you get in the car as it is on by default. This feature is actually really bad. The car will often turn off the engine when I’m pulling into a parking spot slowly. Very dangerous as you have to hit the gas to start the car again if you have the brake hold feature on. Off you want a quiet and comfortable ride, this is great. But the tech will annoy you.

Comfortable ride. Softer and smoother than BMW- xoesnt handle as well as my bmw. Comfortable interior lots of gadgets and comprehensive, but very sophisticated- infomation syste. Finicky fingerprint system. Below avg gas mileage,even in e onomy mode- 19.4mpg

Disappointed overall...

My wife and I really wanted to like this vehicle but we were both disappointed with the harshness of the ride. There are many things to love about this car as is evidenced by the many positive reviews online. The vehicle exterior is very classy and the seats are very comfortable with a great looking interior cabin. The infotainment system and overall tech are nice, too. But, we did not enjoy the stiff suspension and the choppy ride, especially when first starting out while the engine is cold. We finally acknowledged that we had not gotten what we wanted and just traded it in on a different 2026 vehicle.

Great Vehicle but...

My 2026 GV70 is a very nice car, but there are a few things that detract from a superlative rating. It is comfortable and has a smooth, quiet(ish) ride. The ADAS features are a nice addition to the driving experience. Lane centering and smart-cruise control make highway driving a relaxing experience. However, the engine noise is a bit harsh - especially when starting from a stop. The brakes squeal in the morning when backing out of the garage - very annoying. The center console is light colored with chrome trim. When the sun hits it, the glare is almost blinding. And the center vents in the dash only spew cold air regardless of the temperature selected on the climate control.

A Sports Car In An SUV

This is my third Genesis. I have had two GV80's, and this is my first GV70. I thought it would be too small, since I was used to the larger GV80. Not the case with the GV70. It still has the comfort of the GV80, but more of a sports car feel to it. I love the color combination that I ordered, Black with Red/Black interior. For my next Genesis, I am going to have a hard time deciding whether it will be a GV80 or the GV70. The only thing I miss is the heated armrest, as the GV80 has. Genesis of North Aurora is my preferred dealer. They are professional, friendly, and really care about their customers. Mike Chino, the General Manager, is a wonderful person and always helps me when I need a new Genesis.

a small annoyance

Fantastic car ! We have had it about two months now. Everything works as advertised. Controls are all in the right places. This is written from the hills of West Virginia on vacation. Handles great. The one thing I have trouble with is that the message- "Have you thought about taking a break?" keeps coming on every 15 minutes. Is there a way to turn this off?
