It's Just A Matter of Time Before the Elantra Overshadows The Corolla & Civic
I admit, I'm biased, but in speaking with others, my bias is fully supported.
I recently began driving for Uber and initially started out using my 2012 Genesis sedan; however, after quickly learning a lot of Uber's "dirty little secrets", I decided I needed to drive something more "economical" as well as easier to maneuver around in traffic, so I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT with the Tech package for exclusive Uber use. What this means is I have a compact car that is basically equipped like my Genesis sedan; full leather, navigation, heated front seats, heated outside mirrors, Infinity stereo system, panoramic sunroof (which my Genesis does NOT have), etc. One of the first things my Uber riders always comment on is how nice the car is inside for a compact vehicle and are amazed and impressed by the leather interior and panoramic sunroof!
These things have fully impressed me too, but also the style and handling, along with the other features the car has, such as the three different steering modes and ECO setting. I recently purchased a chrome trim kit for the front grill, along with window vent shades, all weather floor mats and the trunk mat; this has changed the look of the vehicle and makes it stand out even more!
As stated, I already own a 2012 Hyundai Genesis sedan with the Performance Package, along with a 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track model and owned two Sonata's prior to that, so I'm extremely familiar with the Hyundai brand; but now having owned the Elantra GT, this has solidified my feelings and confidence about the Hyundai brand. I hate to say it, but the handling of the Elantra GT is extremely close to that of the Coupe, just lacking the power. Once again, Hyundai has produced a vehicle that is to be envied.
