Great Features but Unacceptable Road Noise

The Ioniq delivers great gas mileage, and it affords solid safety features: blind spot monitoring, lane change assist, and rear cross traffic alert. A power adjustabt driver's seat and dual climate control are also desirable features. It has adeguate interior space for passengers and cargo. However, the interior trim is bland with a lot of hard plastic. All of these strong points are undone by an unacceptabe level of cabin noise; tire noise in particular is deafening. At highway speed on Southern California roads, it is not possible to carry on a conversation without shouting, and, even on city streets with anything but new asphalt, the tire noise is too loud. The car come without any sound deadening material installed. The cost to install after market material ranges from $1,250 to $2, 000. I would not recommend this vehicle and would not buy another in the future.

Satisfied Customer

I was disappointed that my Hyundai had a Recall. Other than that, all goes well. I especially like warnings for approaching cars behind or on the side. These warnings save accidents. Other automatic features good.

Best hybrid on the road

I love this car. I purchased it for gas mileage and I aver over 57 miles per gallon, driving to and from work every day. It's quite, it's comfortable and looks really good for a compact hybrid. It's the sixth Hyundai I have owned.

Economical

Love the car. But will just point out negative. Front seats should be all power. Hands must be thin to reach power seat controls. Disappointed had to pay $150 for trunk cover. VERY SAD. Always recommending people to buy this car.

Car service excellent

Giovanni notified me of a recall on my Ioniq. I scheduled and brought my car and Giovanni took care of my needs right away upon my arrival, ordered a shuttle because it was a 2 hour wait...great service as always from Giovanni and Keyes Hyundai Mission Hills! Thank you

Best little car

I LOVE my Ioniq. Very comfortable, lots of great features,best milage of any car (I am getting between 55 and 60 MPG). And that's with a lead foot! And it's a nice looking car, not ugly like the Prius or some of the other high mileage hybrid's.

I love this cad

I’ve owned my Ioniq for just over a year. I’m very happy with it. It drives really well, it’s comfortable and roomy. Adults who’ve sat in the back say it’s very comfortable. And it’s fun to drive too. I got the top model. I’m surprised how few Ioniqs I’ve seen on the road. It’s a great alternative to the ubiquitous Prius.

Overlooked gem

It is so rare to find an Ioniq on the road and yet this car meets the needs of hybrid seekers perfectly. The car gets great mileage, has strong performance/pickup and a elegant interior. The navigator leaves some room for improvement, but other than that I am more than satisfied with my purchase.

Solid Car, Wonderful Mileage

I love my Ioniq! The mileage is averaging around 58 mpg. It rides well and is very peppy when I need to pass. The hatchback and trunk area are large and functional, and the ride is plenty quiet for a hatchback since the cabin is generally louder in hatch. Done a few roadtrips and performed beautifully.

I love my Ioniq. It's easy to handle and drives very smoothly. The gas mileage is phenomenal and have only very positive reactions to the whole hybrid experience. Every one I come in contact loves this car.

My Bionic IONIQ!!

I never once thought I’d end up in a Hybrid. Yet a EV on top of that! I thought that all of them LOOKED like the other car that starts with a P and ends in US. But my IONIQ is an eye catcher!! And I just love the name they have for the color of my Ioniq: Pearl Black! Need I say more?!

Sensors are very sensitive

Very sensitive sensors, gas mileage varies with the weather and the roads. Love the quickness. I'm keeping her (royal diamond) ? save so much money. I brag about her constantly. She is so sweet and fun.

Problems with car even with regular services

Knocking noise started right after the purchase. Transmission jerking problem from the 1st day. Headlight blown in year. Airconditioning fan noise got louder in 8 months. Weather seal on passenger door replaced within 6 months. Wind noise increased through weather seals in 1 year. USB jack doesn’t have enough power to charge my Samsung Galaxy S8 and service knew about it.

Love it

Have had it for 4-5 months now and love it. Nice to drive, gas mileage even better than expected. I am supposed to write more here because it is demanding a minimum of 200 characters but I really have nothing more to say.

I had a Hyundai Santa Fe for 14 years and loved it but I was wanting a Hybrid so I googled Hyundai hybrids and found the Ionic. I am not a bells and whistles person so the Blue was perfect for me. Just enough bells and whistles. Fell in love with the style, price and gas mileage.

I tell everyone to get an Ioniq

Okay, maybe the Ioniq is a Prius for people who don't want to say they drive a Prius, but it's also a great all-around car. I've driven Priuses (Prii?) as business rentals and been underwhelmed. The Ioniq somehow makes the most of its 104hp and electric drive even in Eco mode when you put your foot down to merge onto the expressway, and in Sport mode you actually feel like you've got more than 150hp -- she scoots! All this while still clocking in 50mpg or so. The Android Auto/Apple CarPlay display on the dash is great, the sound system of the SEL + Tech package thumps and sounds awesome, and the Smart Cruise Control & Blind Spot / Rear Cross-Traffic warning sensors make driving that much more secure. The 27cuft of cargo space is enough for my son & I to go on multi-day camping trips with everything we need. I hope my wife gets another Ioniq when the time comes...in a different color of course.

Engine Attenuator Fluid Scam

Discovering the hard way that a dealership will need to perform a $100 service every 22500 miles leaves me feeling scammed. It's a few ounces of brake fluid, for goodness sakes. This oversight (or intentional act?) by Hyundai leaves me turning my thoughts to negative regarding my purchase. Because of this, I'll be scouring the service requirement of any future vehicle purchase, looking for hidden surprises like this. Unfortunately, I'm familiar with the Hyundai system regarding complaints. This item, and my complaints will not see the light of day due to the "save face and full speed ahead" attitude of the corporate heads.

I love my Ioniq

Purchased at the end of 2017, it was love at first sight. Found its size to be just right for my needs. Has ample cargo space and - as a large person - lots of interior passenger room. BUT THAT'S NOTHING ---- IT'S THE FANTASTIC MILEAGE !!! Since it came with a full tank; I have filled-up 3 - (YES, only 3) - times since. I don't do a lot of daily driving. Nonetheless I have been getting over 49 MPG. Without trying to drive any differently than I have ever driven. As a hybrid, the changeover from battery to electric is seamless, acceleration is good in both city stop & go as well as when on the interstate. I find it a very comfortable automobile to drive. I have a mid-level version and it is very well equipped. From the keyless entry to the Android / Apple play system. The touch screen is located comfortably in the dash and all controls are well-placed.

My ionic

We wanted great mileage, low maintenance and plenty of room in a smooth ride with easy cargo access. The ionic provides all of this plus excellent safety features that really help in heavy traffic. I drive over an hour a day for my job another 5 hours a week for my business. Additionally visiting family is 175 mile round trip. The ionic averages 60mpg with a decrease to about 54 in winter. I have been able to carry more supplies and cut my trips from 3 to 2 pet week. Did I mention how easy it is to park. So many pluses...we named her Zella, she has everything she needs.
