Doesnt get mpg rated

Bought this car for the mpg it was rated. But it doesnt get what its rated at. Outside of that its not bad. The road noise it to high. If I had known that I would have bought the Sonata HYBRID its rated at what Im getting out of the IONIQ HYBRID and theres less road noise. I really wanted the plug in HYBRID but was told its not available in my area.

Needs rear window windshield wipers

So far so good

I have about 600 miles on my Ioniq SEL hybrid and so far I've been impressed with the car. It delivers a smooth, quiet ride, especially around town, although I wish it absorbed bumps a little better. On the highway, there is a lot of wind and tire noise, but not extreme. My wife has a 2017 Honda Civic hatchback and the noise level is about the same. The gas mileage is great. So far I've gotten pretty close to 50 mpg and I expect that to rise as the weather warms. I really like the safety features, particularly the blind-spot monitoring, and the rear cross-traffic alert. The smart cruise control is also very handy. I haven't driven the car in snow yet, but from reviews that I've read it seems that winter tires might be needed. The stock tires are not very grippy in order to improve mileage, but the tradeoff is low traction in the snow.

Scary Braking, fuel econ excellent 55 mpg avg. Look cool. Many people ask me about the car because not many on the road. Surprised you don't see very many other Ioniqs. Ioniq is a better looking car than Prius and has more features. Trip computer shows up to 60mpg+. Actual calculation 51 to 55.

Great car overall but needs minor improvements

First of all, let me say that this car is a great hybrid car and in my opinion, better than Prius having test driven both. With this said, there could be some improvements made to make it even better.

2018 Ioniq

So far I am satisfied with this vehicle. I was disappointed in the lack of knowledge about the vehicle by the sales and maintenance staff at our local dealership. I have also found several features that I assumed it had lacking, such as no way to open the liftgate without getting out of the vehicle with the keybob in hand and using the release button on the liftgate, I was disappointed that I have not been able to use my phone properly with my vehicle. This may be because I have a Windows 10 phone, but believe that all vehicles should support my phone. I have a 2011 Genesis and I have no issues with the system in that vehicle and my phone. So you can imagine my surprise that my new Ioniq can't seem to pair properly and I am unable to get text messages or notifications.

Roberts Ionic

Great car that I have been getting 55 miles to the gallon with. Seamless styling and comfort not at all like a hybrid. Dual clutch is a good idea, but I feel it needs refinement. Overall I think this a good car at a fair price point.

Fuel efficient fun little car

Car has very comfortable seating, well thought out dashboard. The engine can be a bit loud but it mostly uses electric so it isn't noticeable for the most part and we more so noticed it when car is stationary. Gas mileage has been fabulous for us.

Love the economy and handling. Hate the Navigation! Also it would be great to have a real tire instead of the super glue fake tire that is absolutely useless with sidewall damage or massive blowout caused by sharp road garbage.

Great vehicle. Simple and stylish for every day use. All necessary interior comforts are provided even in base model. Hyundai still needs to work on smooth transmission shifts, and switch between electric and gas.

Very happy

Overall we are very happy with this vehicle, we bought it for the fuel mileage because we drive more than 100 miles per day just for work andit has achieved better fuel mileage than advertised, Performance is better than we expected from a hybrid, the sport mode is really nice, when you need to merge into interstate traffic it really helps. We were a little disappointed that it didn’t have a CD player but I suppose that’s a thing of the past now

Better than a prius

Might not look as neat as a prius but it will drive more like a normal car you're used to, and at a more reasonable price. could use a little more power although there is a sport mode that can help when you feel you need to get up to speed faster like on freeways.

Bad windshield glare!

I am very happy with most of my Ioniq Hybrid. It's comfortable, rides smoothly, handles well, looks great, and gets fantastic mileage. However, there is a glare on the windshield from the dash - on a sunny day, I can see every single part of the dash in the windshield, including anything that is on the dash. If I lay my hand on the dash, I can see it in the windshield so well, it's like looking into a mirror. I'm trying to find a remedy (other than a dash mat) but no luck so far. The glare is such a problem for me that if I had known about it in advance, I would not have purchased the vehicle. I did a test drive, but that was on a overcast afternoon, so it was not apparent. Very disappointed that this otherwise great car has such an awful problem. The glare is so bad it is distracting and unsafe.

It's pretty pretty pretty awesome

The Ioniq hybrid is a great alternative to the Prius. It looks great, stands out from the other hybrid cars in my area, instantly recognizable. This car gets awesome gas mileage, and is really fun to drive.

Summary

I am a former Prius owner and very accomplished at 'coasting for gas'. I chose the Ioniq this time because of it's higher MPG rating and it's ultra low emission rating. I have found it overall a much better bang for my buck, however do NOT believe the manufacturers rating of 58 MPG HWY. I am averaging 51 MPG HWY and the same City. That's still pretty darn good...and since I have the heaviest model, it is somewhat understandable. I am adjusting to the limited rear visibility, but also understand that it is a function of aerodynamic design so I will adapt and learn. I highly recommend this vehicle for it's comfort, technology and most of all it's environmental considerations.

The little hybrid that could

We have been shopping for a hybrid vehicle for some time. When we saw the Ioniq at the NY Auto Show, we fell in love immediately. The styling, roominess for a subcompact, MPG, and features looked great. We test drove an SEL at the dealer and found it surprisingly capable on the road. It handles very well and accelerates far better than a Prius we had years ago. We are especially impressed by the relative low price. We went with the Limited. The few downsides are: lack of rear wiper/washer and heated outside mirrors; rear cargo cover is an optional accessory; low ingress/egress height that bumps a few heads; poor performance of the Bluelink app. Overall we are very happy with this car and would recommend it to anyone in the market for a sharp-looking, roomy, sporty, and fuel-efficient car.

2018 Ionic Hybrid

Car was on a 1500 mile trip and it averaged 49 MPG, but had a hard time going up hills and surging. It only took $105 to go 1500 Miles which was nice on the pocket book. It performed well in corners and was alot of fun to drive. Was hoping to get 55 MPG, but with the wind, hills, it did well at 49 MPG!! Great car so far!
